all right well I think we're gonna go ahead and start and if anybody joins late there or anyone has to drop off there is going to be a recording of this that we're gonna post and share both on our Facebook group and also on our website so let's go ahead and get started this has been most of you all probably talked to me at some point and I'm one of the lead developers and these days probably more on the sort of product management and support side of things but I just wanted to kind of give you a quick rundown of what we're gonna be talking about today this like because this is our inaugural livestream it's actually aimed more at our longtime users folks who haven't maybe seen all the new stuff we've been added we're gonna be touching on a few new features that's going to be new for everybody but in terms of what we're going to be covering I just want to make sure that folks are aware this is not comprehensive and we are gonna start doing regular webcasts to do deep dives into individual topics but what we're gonna be doing today is going to be pretty superficial so it's just kind of kind of briefly show some new stuff that you may not be aware of one other thing that I think is kind of important note is that because of the way we do updates where we update people in groups some of the features you see here may not be on your build yet if that's the case we're kind of closing up our most recent update cycle so if you don't see something that you see in here chances are you will have it within about two weeks and if it's early if something's really important to you you can reach out to us but otherwise if you're not seeing it just wait a couple weeks and you will see it up on your build great and again I mentioned it a little bit earlier but if people do have questions as we go you can type them in there I can't hear you but we have folks on our team here who are going to be responding as well and they're also be posting some help sections along the way great okay so without further ado I'm gonna go ahead and jump in here so um when just kind of a lower starting here I want to talk about some housekeeping components there's a lot of administrative functions that people can do now that they didn't used to be able to do or that word slightly different so you can see here we've got our screen and the first thing I wanted to talk about was the calendar because there's a bunch of changes that have been made over the calendar or the last six or eight months and I just wanted to bring them to everybody's attention so the first one is that everybody should now be able to manage their own calendar appointment types so for folks who have been with us for many years they used to be that if you had to change your appointment types you could manage the appointment types that patients could see on the portal but you couldn't necessarily manage the appointment types that were like within the EMR drop-down list I had to go through us that is now completely within your control so if you go under admin manage you're gonna see your standard management list oh and one other thing that's also part of this new update is that this has been reordered to be alphabetical just a little easier to find but in here you're gonna see something called schedule types this is gonna let you manage your own schedule types I'm including adding new ones disabling old ones changing who they apply to colors all of those types of things so I think it's pretty straightforward if anyone has trouble with that of course just let us know we also have introduced a wait list feature and I'll show a lot of fun this has been up for a while but a lot of folks aren't using it yet but if you go over scheduling here you're gonna see there's an option called scheduling wait list and if you bring that up it's gonna open up a window for you that shows you all of your wait-listed patients we do the wait list it's very straightforward you just go ahead and hit this little plus button and it's gonna bring up a box where you get to put in any notes you want about what the patient is looking for if they're looking for a particular type of appointment you can designate that you can specify priorities assign a patient and for this you know this is going to be for generally-speaking existing patients who are looking for an appointment slot and that's not available though you can also use it for patients who are flagged as perspectives and then you can designate the date that they're looking for an appointment if they have a specific date and if it's something where you know they're only in town for a few days and if they can't get on during that period they should fall off you can also designate an automatic removal period in there as well and then you can just pick which people you want to have access to that or you which they're willing to see in that so it's pretty straightforward I think and then the one other thing I wanted to talk about on the calendar side of things is the fact that now you have the ability to actually designate the order of these columns this is especially helpful for our larger practices and it used to be that these were always going to be set up in a fixed order and now you can reorder these by just designating the order that you check them in so for instance if you want to set a particular order you would just uncheck the items that you want here let's say I want dr. Noda go first and then I want dr. Hibbert and then I want to have rooms 1 & 2 on here you'll see that these now appear in the order that I check them and this so this just allows you to control what your calendar views are going to be and then of course just like normal you just hit this little Save button and that's gonna save this calendar layout it's your default so yeah I think that's all on the basics of calendar here oo actually is one other thing that's probably worth mentioning here this again is up then up for some time but a lot of folks contact us I think not being aware that it's there is the ability to run a calendar report what this is going to do is it's gonna let you export your calendar to an Excel spreadsheet and it's gonna include information about who like whose appointments they're for which patients they are if you only want to filter it by particular statuses you can do that as well and then there's an option down here and a lot of folks miss this is the ability to include deleted patient appointments and this is just handy if folks are if you're trying to like audit what happened a particular appointment this calendar appoint will include those deleted appointments and so it's just a really handy way of just kind of checking what happened perfect alright let's see just moving on here we have a the one of the other things I wanted to mention is just the ability to also manage your users again this is something where for folks who started a few years ago if you wanted to add or remove users you had to go through MD HQ for some time now you've now you've had the ability to manually create and manage your own user lists and what this is going to let you do is just easily change in here you can add additional users and when you do that you have the ability to specify them as a user you can also add resources many resources are the main function there is just that it's gonna give them a calendar they're not going to appear elsewhere in the system and it doesn't allow anybody to log in it's that resource but this just says you know for instance let's say you have three rooms and an IV chair or something like that you can basically allow appointments to be scheduled both against users and against that resource so that's a handy tool as well we have within your user management system one thing that's also important is the ability to designate permission profiles so there's a variety of different permission profiles if you select one it's going to explain you know what that person can do and like always if there are particular custom permission profiles that you need if you need a user who let's say can do everything except for one particular action you can get in contact with us and we can usually help you set that up all right kind of thing in the in the same theme of sort of broader management here there's kind of a couple of other small features around managing sort of patient activity that I wanted to talk about one thing that also historically we've done for you is if you needed to delete or merge patients that's something that we had to do for you this is now something that's under your control so if you go to a patient's chart and let's just say that this patient is and this was a duplicate patient or a patient who never showed up you know they've been on the calendar for in the system for two years and they never ended up booking an appointment you may want to just remove them entirely rather than just marking them as inactive and that is now something that you can do just go to their basic user information box here and if you look down in the patient activity or basis patient status drop down here you're gonna see there is the ability to archive patients here and also for folks who aren't aware there is also a field here for prospective patients if you have a workflow where you want to be able to identify patients who aren't real patients they just are interested in the practice you can enter them as a prospective patient and it they'll just look different and be reported on diff within the system but in any case the ability to delete or archive a patient you're just gonna go in here and the system amongst other things when you go to archive a patient is going to try to make sure there's nothing outstanding that needs to be dealt with for instance if this patient had an open soak note that hadn't been signed or in this particular case this person's on the wait list and so it's saying well you can't delete this person if they're on the wait list go ahead and remove it from the wait list first so this system will attempt to stop you from deleting a patient who still has something active that needs to be done for them but in any case if I was allowed to proceed in this case as soon as I hit okay it would then remove this patients chart entirely they would no longer show up in searches anything like that but you will still have the ability to recover that chart if you need to so if you go up under your admin drop-down your notice that there's gonna be a new feature called archived patients and when you bring this up is gonna list everybody who's been archived from the system everybody who basically deleted and if you need to reinstate them for some reason you'll have the ability to just hit this little button which is going to recover that patient's chart and make it live again the other thing kind of in that similar space is that if if you have two patient charts that are identical but accidentally they both ended up getting populated so for instance you know patient has created a new chart for themselves maybe they put their date of birth and wrong so the system allowed them to register themselves a second time if they go ahead and submit secure messages or you know somebody accidentally creates a chart for them on that second profile you now also have the ability to merge your own patients so if you go up under admin you'll notice there's also a new feature in here called merge patient charts and here it's just gonna ask you to put in the ID of the patient who you're trying to merge so in this particular case your ID for folks you don't know is this first number right here you're also gonna see it in the URL way up here and I'm gonna go ahead and just punch in the patient IDs that I want to merge so just need to look up both those patient IDs enter them in and then when you hit next it is going to first do a conflict resolution so it's been a basically make sure that the patient's are in fact the same person if they have different dates of birth different first or last names the system will stop you here and not allow you to proceed so you would need to update those charts first you know this is just a check to make sure you're not accidentally merging charts that shouldn't be merged so you need to update one of the charts to match the other one and then it will let you proceed on the subsequent step it will let you pick what information comes over and once you commit it's gonna then unify those patient charts under one of those patient IDs one thing that is important with that is that is not a reversible action our system does log what got merged but there's there's no easy way to split patients who have been merged so just something to be aware of all right okay I think I'm gonna just shift gears a little bit here and talk a little bit about vitals stats management and labs because that's the section we've made a lot of changes over the last year so the first thing is just kind of talking about patient vitals this block down here for most folks there's just gonna be three fields in here blood pressure weight and height and then it's gonna Auto calculate your BMI a lot of you already have custom vitals that we've set up for you to track but one of the things that we've done now is actually giving you the ability to manage what vitals you want to have listed in this field so if you go up here to admin manage you're gonna see an option down here called vitals and this you're gonna see there's already a long list of vitals that are going to be in your billed vitals and lab value stats that you can select from but you can also enter your own sort of custom lab value if you're tracking an msq score if you're tracking a you know waist-to-hip ratio whatever it is that you're tracking you can go ahead and actually just say add a new vital and it will have you put in sort of a short name a full name and then you know what type of value it's going to be and then you'll also have the ability if it's something that's already in our list here so if I was to here let's do like you know body fat as an example here so you can see we already have some vitals for body fat percentage here if this was something you wanted to include as a vital that you're tracking in the office you could just go ahead and open it up and you would just toggle this little vital item here to yes and as soon as you do that it is going to appear as a new vital in your patient vitals block and like all those vitals those can be tracked and graphed over time by just popping out hitting the cell pop-out icon it'll give you sort of your historical readings on those alright the other thing where we've made sort of very large improvements in is the way that you can track labs that are coming in from integrations so I guess first I'll mention we are constantly adding new labs to our integrations list I'm not going to mention them all here we have a running list on our website of labs that we have integration with but it's worth checking that periodically to see what whether or not a lab that you work with has been added and of course if there's a lab you do high volumes with it's not in on that list do get in contact and we can work with that lab to maybe get connected with them but and the only the only two things I am going to call out just because most folks won't be aware of it is we have upgraded our interfaces with lab core and CPL those are both big labs that a lot of folks use so we've had integrations with them for a long time but if you use those labs and you want on ordering interface to be added to it as well please just contact your Cpl your lab lab Corps representative and they will reach they will contact us to upgrade your interface to a full results an older interface so I just want to call that one out specifically but we also again have added a bunch of specialty labs in as well so the next piece I want to talk about though with that interface is that as lab results are coming in you know for quite a long time you've had the ability to track lab values that are coming in and in this particular case I'm gonna go ahead and actually go to a chart that actually has more information on it here I go to a bar chart I think so you have the ability to sort of trend trend out values as they've come in and these are things that are generally s eaking being populated by the hl7 feet of a lab directly it can also be though that you manually populate your your labs as well and for folks who aren't aware of how you can manually enter lab results in an attractive way you can we have helped sections for that online you can also of course reach out if you struggle with that but in any case you can see in this particular case the patient has a lot of labs that they're tracking this screen here graphically looks a little different than what it's historically looked like but but sort of structurally is pretty similar but there are quite a few changes that we've made that improve this interface the the first one is that you'll notice there's a new column with checkboxes on the left hand side and one of the things that you can do now that you haven't historically been able to do is actually designate groups of labs that you want to track so for instance if we were creating a particular profile you can check items from this list like you know let's say they were I'm this is obviously just dummy data here but if you were creating like a cardiac panel or something like that you can pick the tests that you want to include in that panel and then under this truck down here you can say I want to go ahead and create a new tag and tags are gonna represent groups of labs you can then designate the order that you want those to show up in a lot of times you know that people want to look at like a you know CMP or a chem 14 or something like that that they are you know where they are used to looking at in a particular order you can designate that here you would then give it a name and go ahead and say create that tag and then from any patient's chart I want to actually going to create that that tag real quick but from any patient's chart you can then select the tag that you're interested in and it is going to show you just those lab values in the order that you were interested in them in so this is going to make it a lot easier to manage sort of reviewing labs when you're talking about patients who have done had lots of testing done the one other thing that I wanted to mention on this one is that some folks especially users that are integrated with a lot of different labs they sometimes struggle because labs will send values to us in a way that we can't easily reconcile so for instance we might receive quests TSH reading as TSH you know see repl they might come in from lab core as just TSH and they might come in from CPL or Empire labs as like thyroid stimulating hormone these are all the same thing but labs are not good about providing us there something called a loin see code that they should provide but most labs don't that tell us what the actual underlying value represents so one of the things that we allow you to do now is that you can go back to my main screen here is that you can basically you know just pretend that these are all in fact the same things under different names this is another spot where you can go to manage checked merge those fields pick what name you want to be the dominant name or define your own and then hit merge that just tells the system hey these are all these all represent the same type of reading you should graph them together you should understand that these are the same thing so this is another handy way and again what once it's merged it's going to be merged for for everybody so and there is a way of on merging these as well but that's a something that you know that shouldn't hopefully be too common and then of course for folks who haven't been using this too at all it's just useful to know that you also have the ability if you want to like deep dive into a particular lab value you can just go ahead and actually click on any particular value and you're gonna see it's gonna give you the ability to graph out that's at over time so all right so sort of in a related theme here when you are for any labs that are coming in from external systems or again where you've manually provided results the system now when you hover over things you know this has always been the case where when you hover over a document it's gonna show you a snapshot of that document it will show you notes things like that but one of the things that it does now is that it's gonna also show you a synopsis of what the underlying results are so in this particular case I don't need to open that lab to actually see what the results were because it summarizes for me on the left hand side with my bilirubin and TSH readings so this is just another it's a very small little tool but it's a helpful one to be able to kind of briefly look at it the other thing just I'll mention quickly here is we've also added this document search in and this is something you're especially for folks who have very complicated patients or you know patients who they've been saying for years you know with hundreds of documents hundreds of labs you know whatever it be and you can now rather than just having to weed through all these documents or going to a bunch of subfolders you can then quickly just search all of your documents so if I was interested just in for instance in my t4 readings I can just type in t4 and it's gonna bring up all of the t4 documents that the patient has ever had this when you're running that search it is going to search the titles the notes fields and if it was a document generated from within MD HQ it is also going to search the body of that content and you get to decide whether it searches all tabs you may be a in a scenario we're not sure where a document was filed in which case just check this search all folders tab otherwise it's just going to search the tab that's active for you all right all right last thing I'm going to mention about this particular sort of the lab value tracking component is that you now have the ability to actually push these values into notes as well a lot of times the patient is coming in so that will do that we'll say this is a lab review chart here and you know we've noticed that a lot of folks were either manually opening up a document I'll go ahead and do this real quick here so you know maybe they were they were opening up this TSH reading or this bilirubin TSH lab they were and they were manually copying and pasting or transcribing this or they were having administrative staff enter it into the keynotes fields and then copy and paste it from here that is no longer necessary um what you can do instead is just bring up the lab like this and you will notice that if it has if this document here is associated with underlying lab values you can go ahead and say pushed my discreet results into the note so I'm gonna go ahead and hit that it's gonna say okay it pushed and then you'll notice if you look at your actual chart it went ahead and entered in those readings for you and then you can you know make any comments you want here so that's just a handy tool and I know for some of our folks who really do a lot of lab work this this will save a little bit of time all right okay sort of shifting gears slightly but still staying within the orders theme there one of the things that you have the ability to do now when you're scheduling orders it's actually designate them as a future order this is another thing where you know I think we're seeing some folks were creating future dated notes and filing labs under there as a way of getting those notes to be sort of scheduled to the Future that should no longer be necessary what you can do is just go over here and when you're scheduling your orders and this this works no matter how you're adding them if you're adding them using chart parts or anything like that it's gonna work exactly the same but I'm just gonna go ahead and I'll Princeton's put in a TSH here but a diagnosis for why we're ordering it and you will notice that there is a new field here called should these be scheduled for the future and if you check that you can then pick what you know when they should be scheduled for so let's say I'm going to schedule these for a year from now we'll do them next 26th when you go ahead and add those orders it's now in there and you'll notice there's now a black box that will appear next to it anything that's scheduled for the future will have this little black box it's also makes it easier to track them when you're using the the tasks system here when you go to your open orders it's easier to track what's a future order versus not a future order and if you look at the patient's main ordering block here again it will show that black square there to indicate that this is something that's not meant to be run right now it's meant to be run in the future and one other thing you can do with that is if you open it in sort of also helping you track where people are in the process of labs and this is particularly helpful in the case of like tests that require lab kits is you can actually also designate a status as well so if you go up here you'll notice there's a new if you again I know I'm moving fast here but if you just click on the order itself if you want to manage it or update its status you'll notice notice that there is a new order status field here and you can basically say oh you know what they've been mailed back it for instance and I'm gonna go ahead I don't want to save a document here and when you put that in you'll notice now when you look at it they're in parentheses in their own main ordering block on their dashboard or in their chart here it is going to show you what the current status of that lab is so this is just again another sort of helpful administrative tracking tool for for upcoming orders all right I think that mostly sums up the kind of the big changes that we've made to the ordering system I guess one thing before I leave ordering entirely for folks that do in-house IV ordering I did just briefly want to mention I know some of you are already using this but we do have the ability to allow you to put in IV infusion orders as well so if you do in-house IVs or you have a workflow where the provider orders these and then a tech fulfills them there is also the ability for you to basically define IV orders and then give them and have them fall off the list after a period of time things like that so if you're interested in that let us know we'll probably do a deep dive on that in a future webinar all right I'm just gonna pause here for a minute I don't know if anyone has any questions it looks like not so far so all right I suppose I will just move on so I'm gonna go ahead and save this note and get closed it out give me just one sec here all right so I think the next sort of big topic I want to tackle is estimated charges this is something we need to turn on for you so you know even if you've received the update you may not see this yet but this is the ability this gives you the ability to put in charges as a pending or an estimated charge so they're not actually in the accountings yet they don't count towards a patient's balance but they let you track that it's something the patient is interested in or if it's a package it you know it says oh you know what the patient's entitled to a certain number of packages sorry of products within that package so if you look that this can be done from inside of an encounter note but just for the sake of demonstration I am going to put it outside of an encounter note and just as a reminder as a general rule charges should be added inside of an encounter note unless there's a good reason not to estimated charges it doesn't really matter where you put them because when you redeem them then they will go into a chart or in you then you can redeem them into an encounter note if you want but in this particular case I'm just going to kind of show you what that looks like I'm just down here on the billing walk and I'm going to go as if I'm going to add in a new charge and what you'll notice is if estimated charges are turned on is that there's going to be a new little link down here so this here is the window that normally you're just gonna like search for a charge you know this is gonna be like an office visit or something like that that I'm searching for but if you want to put in an estimated charge instead or an estimated charge is go ahead and click that and it's just gonna change the search box slightly here and it's gonna have you search for the estimated charge and you can either enter a single charge so you can just say like oh they're entitled to this lab kit or something like that or you can put in a group or package charges for folks that aren't familiar with package charges this is something that you would manage under admin manage charges this has been around for a long time but the the group charges allow you to add multiple charges and it was those same groups also can be used for packages that are estimated charges so for instance if I if I go ahead and enter in package I can see here I have a new patient package it looks like that's been created that has three charges in it again if you hover over something it's going to kind of show you what that what the three charges would be and I'm just gonna go ahead and open that up and so in this particular case you can see it is going to be putting in these three estimated charges to the patient's chart you have the ability to modify them so if you wanted to apply a discount to them now if you wanted to you know do anything like that you can and then in this particular case I'm just gonna go ahead and say add these charges to the patient's account and again you can see at the top you are adding estimated charges to the account they're not going to be factored into patients total so I'll go ahead and add that in and so now you can see the patient's balance has not been affected here but under estimated charges they have this that they this debt or the whether you owe them twelve hundred fifty dollars worth of services that haven't been redeemed yet so if I want to see details you can either click this or just pop out your your billing block here and you will notice that you now have in addition to your standard charges you now have a list of all of your pending charges your estimated charges and from here if you want they'll you know let's say that the patient got this they went ahead and you know let's say they paid for it in which case they would have a credit of 1250 on their account when they're ready to redeem these charges you can just go ahead and either right-click one specific charge so let's say that they had a package of five offices that you had sold them when the patient actually comes in you would just right-click on the one office visit that you wanted to give and say add to patient chart this would then pull it from the estimated charge and push it into the Y of charge or if you want to do groups of them let's say the redeeming several things at once you can just check over here the items that you want to bring in and then use your little manage checked manager over here and add these to their chart um one thing I'll just mention just before I actually add these to the chart you also have the ability to generate an estimate based on those checked by items so if I go ahead and say print an estimate instead this is going to generate a pardon me a document that you can either print or save to the patient's portal that will just show them you know if you want them to like look at something before they approve charges rather than it being a package charge that they've already purchased you can generate this and then have them sort of agree to it on the portal to make you know something like that so anyways it's just a helpful little thing you could add in addition but in this case I just want to go ahead and add these charges it's gonna bring them up I can modify them now if I want so let's say for whatever reason I wanted to modify the cost of one of these at the time that I'm redeeming it you can but in this particular case I'm just gonna say go ahead and add these charges and what you'll see is that it took those at those estimated charges it pushed them into the live charges here so now it's part of the patient's balance sheet you have the ability now to pay it off or to apply a credit to it and then we still have this $50 one that the patient will redeem at a later date so that's just a quick run-through of the estimated charge system or prospective charge system it's you're probably most the way most folks are going to use this is as a package manager and we already have quite a few folks using it but just to reiterate one more time if you want this and you don't see it on your build let us know because it this is one of those features that we have to turn on for you and we'll have also with many of these things we will have a dedicated webinar that goes over a lot of sort of the more complicated like billing scenarios and estimated charges will be part of that as well all right all right completely shifting tracks here the next thing I wanted to talk about is describing so we already have you know e prescribing for standard substances we have recently passed our DEA and share script certifications for controlled substances for folks that we are in the process right now of rolling out Controlled Substances to the controlled substance component of this to people's builds so just just bear with us as we get this rolled out to everybody one thing that I will mention is that if you want to upgrade an existing if you're already using a prescribing through MD HQ and you want to upgrade to be able to send controlled substances you will need to identity proof again so there's a process where it kind of just confirms that you are who you say you are and it's but the process is a lot faster than probably what you did for the first identity proofing it's gonna be entirely web-based you can do it whenever you want and it's generally speaking only takes 15 to 20 minutes to go through that at which point you'll receive an authentication token so that you can go ahead and route controlled substances as well for folks that are interested in e-prescribing who aren't already in prescribing under our previous pre controlled substance scenario that you should definitely start prescribing but you should hold off for a couple of weeks until you have the controlled substance module in because that way you don't have to go through identity proofing twice so if you can if you can wait for another week or two that will be in for you and you can go ahead and register for that and get both your Controlled Substances and standard routing all handled at once all right next thing I wanted to just sort of briefly talk about is some of the more behind-the-scenes things they've been taking place one of the big ones has to do with integrations so obviously we're integrated with tons of labs and we've been doing that for years but one of the things that we've really made up pushed for in the last year is you with third parties as well to really sort of extend the role that MD HQ from play as the center point of your office the big ones I want to call out we have a few smaller ones that I'm not really gonna talk about here but the big ones that I want to talk about here one of them is active campaign there's been a lot of chatter on Facebook about this one active campaign is basically MailChimp on steroids it's it can still do all the standard mail like you know send a newsletter to everybody type of function but it also has the ability for you to set up a lot of automated workflows so if you wanted something that on a patient's birthday sent them a special email or if you wanted to set it up so that your diabetic patients you know is when you diagnosed somebody with diabetes that it would then send them an email and then if they didn't open that email it sent them a follow-up email two weeks later and then if they clicked a link in that email it you know sends them a text message these are all things that you can program within active campaign it's a really cool system and our integration with them is recently tight once you've connected your account and we have instructions on our website on how to get set up with active campaign but basically once the account is is created and joined to your MD HQ account anytime you add or update a patient and MD HQ it's going to sync their data over to active campaign and the big pieces that it's going to do is obviously things like demographics phone numbers email addresses that kind of thing but also it's going to sink over tags so and by the way for anybody who's not using tags this is something I'd strongly recommend and it's just a way of if you go to a patient's information block here just click this little tag button and this will this will open up a tag manager where you can create tags that you want to group patients by but I want to get too much into that but if you're not using tags I you probably should be there's not many practices that wouldn't benefit from being able to like easily group different poops like types of patients but in any case tags will be synced over to activecampaign it's also going to sink over there next and last appointment dates and types it's going to sink over things like their sex their dates of birth so there's just a lot of information that's go interactive campaign automatically and stay synced with your MD HQ build that will allow you to build automations so again if you wanted to set it up so that when you tag somebody is a thyroid patient or a diabetic patient that automatically inactive campaign triggers a set of contacts you know set up set of emails and sort of text messages that is something that can be set up the next one I want to talk about was our hint integration this is one of our oldest integrations for folks that do recurring billing hint it's a great tool obviously most folks just do it directly through mb HQ but hint does have a lot of cool features that we don't especially around group around sort of group management and yeah and the the integration with them is not super tight so it's basically it's gonna keep if any updates are made in one system or the other the other system will update like demographic changes that occur between the two systems it also lets you quickly see from the patient's chart what their what subscription they're on in hint so you'll see down here under billing you would see a little statement of what plan they were on and hint and if you click that little link down there it would actually jump you to their hint profile where you could make any changes that you needed to so it's a great platform for folks who want that type of a functionality and and that is something we integrate with the next one and I'm not gonna go into great depth on this one is our integration with Twilio Twilio is a phone routing system it's not built to like replace RingCentral or whatever your main office phone is what it allows you to do is get a phone number that allows you to send and receive text messages and send and receive phone calls from the EMR in a way that records them you know records the text messages going in and out in the EMR associates them with the patient's chart and also allows you to sort of disguise your own numbers so if you're a small DPC practice and you want patients to be able to call your phone but you don't want to just give out your cell phone number to everybody it will allow it like you can manage the number from with an MD HQ and you can set it up so that when a patient calls you know during business hours it goes to your office phone if they call during off-hours it goes to your cell phone and when people send text messages they bounce you know they're sending text is not to your cell phone but your cell phone will receive them as well as the EMR will also receive those text messages so it's cool functionality and if you're interested again just check up the website or give us a shout the next those are the last two main integrations that we've gone live with are both have to do with sort of shopping cart solutions and and especially with supplement sales and those are our integrations with Shopify and nutriment RX Shopify is a big ecommerce platform for doing sales of a variety of things and our integration with with them allows you to set up an online store with Shopify it's going to keep your inventory synched up so if you're using inventory in Mt HQ it is going to sync your inventory between MB HQ and Shopify so that if you sales are made in one spot they get recorded in the other as well it will also make it so when you add new products for instance they get they go into both places at once so I just take some of the administrative burden off of that and then a nutrient Rx is similar it's also is an online storefront for your for your supplement sales and one of the nice things with that integration is that when you actually prescribe a medication or sorry prescribe a supplement to a patient if you're prescribing something that's on the nutrient rx compendium our system will actually contact nutrient rx and and let them know in from a basic information about the patient and about the product so that nutrient Rx can essentially already sort of put it in that patient shopping cart and they can essentially finish the actual fulfillment and and shipping of that product so yeah those are kind of the big integrations that we've gone live with recently and the last piece of it is if you know obviously there's a huge ecosystem of products that you may want to connect with we are going to continue to connect with different groups whenever we find a good strategic partner but one of the other things that you can do if the group that you're interested in is not on that list is that we've also now introduced an API and a web hook system and for folks who don't know what this is this is essentially a way for other applications to communicate with MD HQ over a set of very standardized command so if you had your own private workflow where for instance you wanted some form on your website to create the patient's chart in MD HQ and then send a secure message to MD HQ like as if like it was from that patient that's something that you can do through the API you can also do things like look up patients and analyze data through the API there's a lot of things essentially it is something that will require that you that you either be comfortable with programming or work with a programmer to do but it's a pretty easy system to work with where you can go ahead and say like hey you know I want to find all my patients with this criteria and I want to you know upload a handout for all of them in bulk you know that's something that you could do through an API and then the kind of corresponding piece is our web hook system and the web hook system is basically a system where whenever is something happens in md HQ but it can be virtually anything we can have it trigger a message that goes to the application of your choice so if you wanted let's say you wanted that anytime somebody assigned a test to you an md HQ that you receive an email that's not functionality that's built directly into md HQ but we can set it up so that we whenever a task is added send a message with all the appropriate details to a server or service that you run which then processes that message says oh this is for doctor so-and-so I'm gonna go ahead and create an email to let him know that you know this message is you know that he's got a new task so again this all relies on a on you having access to some development resources but it's a really cool system and it allows sort of a huge array of functionality that isn't necessarily already built alright so I think and I just got one question that somebody wanted me to feel about controlled substances which is one for Ohio Ohio has since but this is this is going back to our Controlled Substances quest discussion about D prescribing Ohio has some special rules where for some controlled substances they require diagnostic codes on the e script the answer is yes but Ohio is sort of the one special case and so if you are a prescriber in Ohio you're going to get a special set of instructions on how to do this so for those folks are in Ohio we will be talking to you because you guys have a bunch of crazy rules around control sentences so all right I think yeah if there's no more questions at that stage I'm just the last thing I wanted to talk about it again I have glossed over a huge number of both small and large changes that are comes to the EMR a lot of the ones that I'm skipping our ones that are just gonna be super obvious or that you wouldn't even notice um yeah so you know this is by no means comprehensive and for some of our new features we are gonna be doing these follow-up webinars so just stay tuned for those so the last thing I kind of wanted to talk about before we wrap things up is just our roadmap for 2018 our team has grown a lot and we've started tackling a lot of new projects the first thing I wanted to talk about just because again this has received a lot of coverage and Facebook is group chat functionality this was something we had actually hoped to roll out in December we ran into two small hiccups and but that is still our top priority that's gonna be the first new feature rolled out for 2018 we're hoping to launch that in February at least on a beta basis so stay tuned for that and this by the way first for small clinics you know you have this ability to send to basically pass tasks around for communication and that works I think fine for small claims but especially for some of our larger clinics where you want to have like a conversation between four different people about one particular patient that's a challenge and so that's one of the pieces that's going to be coming very soon in 2018 the next one is going to be an integration with full scripts there's a lot of you who already use them this is I think in a lot of regards similar to nutriment our X in terms of functionality they do something's different but if you use full scripts that is an integration that's coming here in the in the near future we're hoping and a first quarter on that the another thing that would the other thing that work in the process of working on is a few other changes to our ether scribing system so the two big ones that we're working on now that Controlled Substances are wrapped up are the ability for for delegation so right now you can delegate prescribing rights to nurses or mas but you have to do it but they have to route via an e fax system and we are certifying some updates to our interface with sure scripts it basically drugs are one of the few areas where we have very limited control over what we can change because every any you know if we change like one word it has to recertify but in any case we are changing our interface slightly and making a few changes to satisfy requirements that sure scripts has about delegation rules and will allow providers to designate who should be able to prescribe under them using be prescribing rather than just a faxing and obviously that won't affect controlled substances only only the provider themselves can do that but for any sort of non controlled stuff they'll be able to send and the other big change for either scribing that's coming here is certifying on compounded meds so right now you can send any drug other than compounded meds via can Priya be prescribing combat it there are there's a handful of compounded meds that have NDC codes and those ones could be routed but we are certifying a new it's called a free text prescription with sure scripts and that one it probably won't be out until the beginning of second quarter but that is something that we are going to be working on as well I don't want to give affirm time on that quite yet because everything with sure scripts is taking a lot longer than we expected and then those are the last sort of major thing that we're doing is we're making some changes to the billing system some of those have to do with payment processors so for folks who are using Bluth in one of the changes we have we're actually rolling on beta right now is the ability to set up recurring payments and subscriptions one of the big differences between our you know right now you can do recurring you can do subscription payments directly through stripe so you can you can set it up so the name dhq you can schedule subscriptions but one of the things that we're doing now is extending that to bluefin and the way it works in bluefin is going to be little bit different where it ties a little more closely into the rest of the counting system so I think in a lot of regards it will be easier and it also allows you to do payment plans as distinct from subscriptions so you can put in let's say a large package a two thousand dollar package which then is paid out over the course of six months you can schedule that using this upgrade to the bluefin integration and then there's going to be a number of sort of behind-the-scenes updates to do the way the accounting system works that are going to make certain reporting a lot easier yeah I think that is all in terms of like sort of my bullet list of stuff to review that is that is most of the the main stuff I just you know so if again just want to reiterate the fact that there may be some of you who don't see all of these features on your build yet and just be patient that's going to be coming in the next few weeks as we wrap up this last update cycle

Frequently asked questions

Learn everything you need to know to use airSlate SignNow eSignatures like a pro.

How do you make a document that has an electronic signature?

How do you make this information that was not in a digital format a computer-readable document for the user? " "So the question is not only how can you get to an individual from an individual, but how can you get to an individual with a group of individuals. How do you get from one location and say let's go to this location and say let's go to that location. How do you get from, you know, some of the more traditional forms of information that you are used to seeing in a document or other forms. The ability to do that in a digital medium has been a huge challenge. I think we've done it, but there's some work that we have to do on the security side of that. And of course, there's the question of how do you protect it from being read by people that you're not intending to be able to actually read it? " When asked to describe what he means by a "user-centric" approach to security, Bensley responds that "you're still in a situation where you are still talking about a lot of the security that is done by individuals, but we've done a very good job of making it a user-centric process. You're not going to be able to create a document or something on your own that you can give to an individual. You can't just open and copy over and then give it to somebody else. You still have to do the work of the document being created in the first place and the work of the document being delivered in a secure manner."
