How do interior designers organize their list of artisans and manufacturers?
That's a very interesting question. There are couple of project management tools which design managers like to use, some of them are difficult to control and design studios employ a person specifically for managing the procurement side of the business. If we look at corporate environments, they have quantity surveyors which have databases with suppliers and they raise a purchase order. If changes are necessary the process gets a bit difficult and slow. Everything that is new, here is a bit difficult to enter.Small and medium sized design studios have a different approach. They use designers to research products. Some companies use MSP or other project management tools. Once products are identified a database with suppliers is created, some suppliers come directly and offer discounts. These databases are usually books, catalogues and magazines. New studios have only pdf, excel spreadsheets and bookmarks as you mentioned. What if there is a simple way to manage this chaos?I've spent 7 years to research design companies, small and big to try to fix this problem which is huge. Almost 90% of all designs are over budget because we plan our buildings in the future, but we execute them in the past. To fix this we have created a simple to use architectural resourcing system that you can use to search, discover and buy design products. You can also organize suppliers and resources, claim supplier discount and schedule order for guarded/ guaranteed delivery. At the moment we are signing up suppliers in European Union and we're planning to cross over to US and Asia very soon.If you know any interested parties, please visit Homepod | Architectural resourcing system to discover more about it.If you have any questions, please post bellow.

What are some examples of great marketing?
Let me tell you a not-so-short story about the chocolate giants Mars and Hershey’s; which is probably one of the best examples of how dynamic marketing is. (and hence a great marketing example)The Hershey’s and Mars storyThe two most successful chocolate brands in the USA are Hershey’s and Mars. They currently own the largest market shares in America. Market share in layman terms is how much percentage of the market the company/brand owns in its sector; which is chocolates in this case. (We marketeers love to confuse you with our language). The Hershey’s Company was founded by Milton S Hershey in 1894 with their first production center at Pennsylvania. The Hershey’s bar grew up to be one of their most successful products with a modest pricing at 5 cents.Take a look at it. It does look delicious, right? The business model was to keep the price of the bar at 5 cents-never higher, never lower-through the passing decades. However, what was challenging was keeping the price of the bar constant despite rising price of its main ingredient- cocoa. So Milton Hershey being a wise man decided to minimally lower the size of the bar each decade. The change was not noticeable and Hershey’s bar went ahead to be almost synonymous with the American dream like Coca Cola or Lays (remember this, since it will be a big part of our story later).Milton was happy with his company’s growth and very soon a Hershey’s town popped up in Pennsylvania like Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory .But every story needs to have its ups and downs or you would never be interested in reading it in the first place. So, to topple our little hero (Milton)’s dream came another gentleman by the name of Mr. Forrest Mars. Mr. Forrest Mars was initially working at a small company owned by his father; which of course was called Mars. But like all faithful sons he was not on good terms with his father. So what did Mars do? He quit his company and started working for Hershey’s. But Forrest Mars was a wise guy. While at work he closely studied Milton’s business plan. After working for a few years our genius (Mars) had an idea. Hence, he quit Hershey’s and returned to his dad’s company; which was still called Mars of course! What did Forrest Mars learn and what was his idea ?Forrest Mars observed that the size of the Hershey’s bar was being reduced every year since the company was unable to catch up with the cocoa prices. So, Forrest being the intelligent man he is, thought to himself “Why should I not make a chocolate bar with less cocoa and more of other flavorful ingredients such as peanuts, caramel, nougats etc. ?” And hence came to being our very loved Mars bar. It looks something like the image below (maybe you hate chocolates and have always turned your face the other way when someone ate a Mars bar)Notice the cut section. There is a thin layer of cocoa enveloping a much larger core of non-cocoa ingredients. So now you might be thinking what was so great about it?The greatness here was that Forrest with his idea was able to produce a much larger bar at a signNowly lower cost, since cocoa which was our most expensive ingredient was easily cut down on. Now, the consumer who might or might not be you thought to himself “ Wow! Mars has come up with this really large and delicious chocolate bar at just 5 cents extra! So why should I buy the smaller 5 cent-Hershey’s bar. Let me buy Mars”. And this is exactly what the then American consumer/customer thought! And guess who became the market leader after this move? Of course, Mars!Hershey’s Company was beaten at their own game. They grew more and more uncomfortable with each passing day. So what genius plan did they come up with? They introduced a much larger Hershey’s bar at a higher cost to compete with Mars. Except that the genius plan backfired. You will ask how. Do you remember when I told you that the 5 cent-Hershey’s bar had become synonymous with the American Dream? Well, our loyal customer now felt uneasy that his 5 cents dream was more than 100% expensive. So what happens then? Hershey’s share in the chocolate market fell! More! Those days our Willy Wonka hero was squirming in his chair in Pennsylvania seeing the dipping figures. So who saves our hero now? To be very precise-an alien! Literally! I am not joking. Okay, let me clarify a little. The movie producer Steven Spielberg went to Mars(the then market leader of chocolates) asking them to advertise their brand in their upcoming movie- E.T. where E.T. who was a sugar lover would be shown gorging on their chocolates. Mars told Steven that their chocolate was for human kids and this would have a negative impact on their sales. So poor E.T. was deprived of Mars. But Steven being a diligent producer approached Hershey’s next. And lo and behold Hershey’s decided to introduce their famous Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups in the movie by making E.T. eat them. This had two results- E.T. got his chocolates and Hershey’s became the market leader again with children running helter-skelter to grab the Butter Cup that their favorite alien was eating. So our Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory started churning happily again with a smile on Willy’s face.I wish I could wrap up the story saying that everybody lived happily ever after but unfortunately our story is one influenced by the consumer’s choices and preferences and continues on till date, with our two heroes-Mars and Hershey’s- trying to grab the greater market share. Well, what’s it to us, we get to eat better chocolates everyday. Don’t we?So back to our answer, why was this story a great example of marketing? If you are familiar with marketing you can see this story -spanning over decades- contains all things good and bad about marketing. What Hershey’s had done with its 5 cents bar was fixing the price point and meeting consumer needs with a tactical business plan. What Forrest Mars did at Hershey’s was essentially learning their business model/ marketing moves and building his own. What Forrest Mars did by introducing ingredients other than cocoa was a successful market research into consumer preferences. What Hershey’s did with increasing their bar size was not reading into the consumer’s mind (or rather a lack of understanding consumer needs)What Hershey’s did with the introduction of Butter Cups in E.T. was appropriate brand positioning. This as per me is a brilliant example of great marketing. Great marketing involves catering to the ever evolving consumer needs. These companies individually might have made wrong market moves from time to time but each time one of them lost their market shares was because the other one had a brilliant marketing move/tool up his sleeve. So here’s E.T. biding you adieu.I hope you enjoyed my story as much as I did narrating it

What's the most epic guerrilla marketing tactic ever done by a startup?
10 Creative Guerilla Marketing Tactics to Boost your Brand, Company, or CauseWhat is Guerilla Marketing?Guerrilla marketing is an advertisement strategy concept designed for businesses to promote their products or services in an unconventional way with little budget to spend. What marketers really enjoy about guerrilla marketing is its fairly low-cost nature. Can blockchain really solve corruption in the public sector?
No. This statement in the news link provided is utterly flawed:“This eliminates the possibility of any public-sector misconduct, as the entire process of managing important public records is visible and auditable.”If the procurement procedures are all recorded in a blockchain, it guarantees that an audit is possible. However, some parts of the acquisition process are recorded manually. For example, when the goods acquired are delivered to the buyer, a public servant must record the receipt in the blockchain informing that the agreement was fulfilled correctly. This person can record this information regardless of the complete delivery of the items acquired when motivated to do so.A blockchain that records all steps in a procurements process can help identifying corrupt actors IF an honest audit takes place. However, if the society in question is so deeply flawed that an audit never takes place OR is conducted by other corrupt actors, there is no reason to use blockchain technology, besides more bribes being paid in the procurement process to acquire the miracle blockchain solution.Bottom line, the solution to solving corruption does not lay in a miracle blockchain technology, but in fixing society itself.

What are good examples of Guerrilla Marketing?
Hi. The answer is yes. Guerrilla Marketing Works and is the best marketing system ever created in HISTORY. Let me explain. Many people are unaware of what true Guerrilla Marketing is. Let me tell you, itt is NOT merely an event or a crazy tactic.By tactic, I mean something like releasing a bunch of squirrels in the park wearing tiny backpacks with your logo on it.Cute? For sure. Effective? Possibly, depends. Guerrilla Marketing? Maybe.I know, something of that nature is generally what people think of when they hear the phrase Guerrilla Marketing. Basically, people want to know a good “gimmick” and call it Guerrilla Marketing. This is usually a result of how excessively weird or interesting things get media or press exposure. While that is all well and good, and gimmicks can be a part of a Guerrilla Marketing strategy, I want you to know GM is so much more than merely using a temporary tactic to draw attention. My mentor, Jay Conrad Levinson (RIP), was the “Father” of Guerrilla Marketing. He is literally the guy who invented the term and “wrote the book” on it.While, these days, you may not have heard of him, I bet you have heard of many of the students he has mentored and certified as official speakers and coaches, like Seth Godin and myself.I know for a fact you have heard of the results of the Guerrilla Marketing work done by Mr. Levinson. While in senior and creative director positions at the ad agencies of Jay Walter Thompson and Leo Burnett, he used Guerrilla Marketing to invent and build such brand icons as:The Marlboro ManPillsbury DoughboyJolly Green GiantSnap-Crackle & PopGood Hands of Allstatethe Friendly Skies of Unitedand many, many more!He & his creative teams have won every prestigious marketing and advertising award time-and-time again. He has had groundbreaking columns in Entrepreneur, Inc & Fortune print and online magazines for decades. No one in history has sold MORE BOOKS ON MARKETING than he has...EVER!I mention these big fancy brands, accomplishments, and people because I want you to know, GM is not about flash-in-the-pan gimmicks. It is a very serious and super effective approach to business marketing that works no matter the size of the business. The icons I mentioned are all a result of an actual process that is unique and exclusive to Guerrilla Marketing.GM is an actual scientific methodology. It uses a specialized approach to the core of human psychological principles to develop profitable business strategies. From there you can do as many tactics as you wish.Rather than seeing Guerrilla Marketing as “types” to choose from, consider GM as a system. Then you just have to seek to discover HOW to best use the system for your particular need.Though there are unlimited possibilities, Guerrilla Marketing is generally used by small business in a few primary ways. These are the things I most often show my students and customers so they can implement them in business. To Maximize ProfitsGet more customers, make more sales, and increase profits all while spending little (or no) money at all! Usually, this is the big win people expect from GM.Save MoneyGuerrilla Marketing uses Time, Energy and Imagination instead of a lot of money. This is what it is all about: using unconventional strategies, secrets, and tactics for earning conventional goals. This equals big profits from your small business.Unlimited LeadsNo matter what is going on in the economy, Guerrilla Marketing will generate a constant flow of quality, targeted leads to your business.Works FastIt doesn’t take long to see results from Guerrilla Marketing, with some methods bringing new business within ONE HOUR!More Customers, Sales & ReferralsGet a ton of new customers, then get more repeat business from existing customers, followed by having all of those customers spending MORE money with you per sale. Top it all off with having your customers refer other new customers to you. And then have all of this happen over and over again with very little investment.I discovered and began using Guerrilla Marketing for my customer’s businesses and for myself back in 1994. I have never looked back! It is literally part of the foundation of how I coach others to run their businesses.Guerrilla Marketing has some great tools to help you discover and manage a great campaign. We call them “weapons”.A few key weapons would be:Marketing plan (Jay created a 7-sentence plan that is so brilliant it is used by large companies like Nike!)Marketing Calendar (It is super important to measure the results of what you do!)Elevator Pitch (Done properly, this acts as a Paying Customer Filter! Use it to prevent tire kickers from stealing time away from those who are willing and able to pay for your product or service.)I have a complimentary .pdf checklist of 200 Guerrilla Marketing Weapons if you would like to have them. signNow out to me and I will email it to you.Ultimately, it will not be WHAT you do, but HOW you do it that will determine what works best for you.Remember to Picture Your Success!Maurice W. What was you best guerilla marketing tactic and how did it work out out at the end?
10 Creative Guerilla Marketing Tactics to Boost your Brand, Company, or CauseWhat is Guerilla Marketing?Guerrilla marketing is an advertisement strategy concept designed for businesses to promote their products or services in an unconventional way with little budget to spend. What marketers really enjoy about guerrilla marketing is its fairly low-cost nature. The real investment here is a creative, intellectual one — its implementation, however, doesn’t have to be expensive. Michael Brenner summarizes it nicely in his article on “guerrilla content,” where he frames this style of marketing in the same context as repurposing your existing content, like taking certain segments of a report, and expanding each one into a blog post. It’s an investment of time, but not money (or at least, not a lot of money). In a way, guerrilla marketing works by repurposing your audience’s current environment. Evaluate it, and figure out which segments of it can be repurposed to include your brand.10 Creative Guerilla Marketing Tactics to Boost your Brand, Company, or Cause1. StickersReddit StickerEverybody knows Reddit as “the front page of the internet” and as one of the most popular websites on the web. With over 36 million user accounts and 169 million unique monthly visitors, Reddit is showing no signs of slowing down. While many people who have used the internet have come across Reddit at some point, or will at least be able to recognize the alien logo that is plastered across the web, others may not know that the creators of Reddit have only ever spent $500 on advertising, and that a great deal of that money was spent on stickers.Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian said in his book, Make Something People Love: Lessons from a Startup Guy:“Yes, stickers [were] the soundest investment I ever made.“I used to travel around the country a lot (thank you, Chinatown bus), and everywhere I went I took stickers with me. I put them on signs, poles, and even other advertisement.”“‘Please sticker responsibly!’ we would say, and hand out these stickers at events, meetups, just to random people on the street. This may not sound like a major or even strategic marketing approach, but we kept at it. Within a few months we started seeing photos uploaded to the internet of people stickering with our stickers… often stickering in ways we’d never expected.”2. Outdoor InstallationsIt Guerilla Marketing-Iconic Red Balloon in Sydney, AustraliaWhile expensive outdoor installations can be an effective form of guerilla marketing, many of the best ideas require far less money to achieve noteworthy impact.A clever guerrilla marketing campaign for horror movie It was met with both delight and horror on social media, with users saying it was “awesomely creepy.”In September 2017, a number of red balloons appeared attached to drainage grates around Sydney CBD, accompanied by a stenciled chalk note saying, “It is closer than you think.”The guerrilla marketing stunt played off audience recognition of the red balloon, which is associated Pennywise, a malevolent clown which preys upon the children in the Stephen King best selling novel, It. A number of murals were also painted around Sydney featuring artist’s impressions of Pennywise’s face. These few strategically placed balloons yielded massive social media traffic and led to skyrocketing viewership of the film’s trailer.3. Reverse GraffitiDomino’s Reverse GraffitiReverse graffiti is when, instead of adding to a surface, marketers remove dirt and grime from a street or wall to create an all-natural marking message. Just put a stencil on a sidewalk and then wash the uncovered spaces. Domino’s is one of the larger companies to try this strategy.4. Contextual MarketingWeight Watchers AdGuerrilla marketing isn’t just found in urban settings — it can be found in print too. This Weight Watchers magazine advertisement changes shape as users remove perforated pieces. This same concept could be applied to flyers to further reduce the cost.5. Creating Counter-CampaignsSigns Designed to Trigger a Strong Reaction in VotersAfter the recession hit, Troy, like so many municipalities, made some major cuts to its public spending. One unfortunate victim of the budget line was the Troy Public Library. The building was given just enough money to function as a storage facility until the operation shut down. They even set a closing date: June 30, 2011.When the people of Troy were asked outside the ballot booth whether they’d be willing to pay for their library, they overwhelmingly said they yes. According to one survey, 72 percent of Troy residents wanted to keep the library’s funding level or even increase it [PDF]. Only 20 percent wanted its funding cut to some degree. What was happening, according to library advocates, was thanks to a group called Troy Citizens United. The anti-tax organization contested any public proposal that included a tax increase, regardless of its purpose. Among the 19 percent of eligible city voters who turned out for these ballots, Troy Citizens United evidently held major sway.In May of 2011, just weeks before the library’s demise, the city council delayed the closure long enough to let residents cast one last ballot. The vote was scheduled for August 2. This time the proposal on the table called for a 0.7 percent tax increase — enough to fund the library for 5 years.True to form, Troy Citizens United — represented at public debates by soon-to-be-mayor Janice Daniels — opposed the proposal on anti-tax grounds. But this time they were joined in their opposition by a committee called Safeguarding American Families, which said it was rooting for the vote to lose so it could throw a book-burning party once the library closed.Safeguarding American Families printed up signs that said: “Vote to close Troy library Aug. 2nd, Book burning party Aug 5th.” They planted them on lawns. They started a Facebook page and a Twitter account (“There are 200,000 reasons to close the Troy Library. They’re called books. #BookBurningParty”).Needless to say, some people got a little angry. They left comments on the committee’s social media sites like “You people are sick” and “This is disgusting” and “Cheap imbeciles” and the like. Local leaders, voters, and media outlets took notice. Everyone assumed this was the group’s true intent. However the whole campaign was just a clever ruse to save the library.Safeguarding American Families was an invention of the Leo Burnett advertising agency, which had been hired to create a blitz media campaign that would encourage voters to turn out and approve the library-funding proposal. Just before the election, Safeguarding American Families revealed its true message: “A vote against the library is like a vote to burn books.”Leo Burnett says its goal was to change the conversation from taxes to libraries. Sure enough, come August 2, voter turnout hit 38 percent and the library proposal passed with 58 percent of the ballot. How to Form a Super PAC (Political Action Committee)What is a Super PAC?medium.com6. Creative Product PlacementPrison Break File in CakePeople in media get free things all the time. So a cake turning up for them for them wasn’t seen as that unusual. But when they started to cut slices, they hit something rather hard. To promote the return of the popular TV3 show Prison Break, advertising agency have hidden a file within the cake. Once the file was removed, they were left with a simple message “Prison Break returns 19th Nov TV3.″7. Improve Existing SpaceIKEA Products in Unique PlacesIKEA has been known for their creative and original marketing initiatives for some time now but their 2006 campaign “Everyday Fabulous” really stands out. The idea for the campaign was to improve the foundations of society by making everyday life that little bit better and more comfortable. IKEA toured the streets of Manhattan and Paris and used their products to decorate several settings such as windows on trains with curtains and bus stops with sofas and pillows. By placing their decorative items in plain sight across the city, IKEA cleverly increased their brand awareness. One of the best subtle, yet effective guerilla marketing campaigns we’ve seen.8. Partnering with Another (Unexpected) BrandColgate partnership with local pizzeriasTo promote the new Colgate Max Night variant local pizzerias were supplied with special Colgate-branded boxes for their dinner deliveries. The inside of the box was designed to look like the inside of a mouth. The message reminded people to use Colgate max night so their dinner breath does not become their morning breath.9. Unconventional Social Media MarketingBreaking up is hard to do in person, let alone when it’s publicly played out online. That’s what happened — allegedly — when one Instagram user left a comment on this post sharing a tale of his “girl” procuring food from Burger King. There was just one problem. This guy does have a girlfriend, but she was nowhere near a Burger King. So, who was he referring to? The drama ensued, via Instagram comments:Burger King Breakup StuntAfter the comments began to make headlines, many speculated that the entire exchange may have been staged by Burger King.Burger King has roughly one million followers on Instagram. Compare that to the 2.1 million followers of its chief competitor, McDonald’s. This famous “breakup” drew more attention to its social media presence, at least on this particular platform. People may have already been observing the brand on Instagram, but before now, were they actively discussing it?10. Ambient MarketingEncouraging readers to quit smokingAn ambient campaign that addresses smokers when they are reading. Iris, London slipped a specially designed page into physical books and Kindle — towards the end of books, readers come to a page that reads: THE END. If you smoke, statistically your story will end 15% before it should.

What is new strategy for SEO in 2019?
First, you should know about interstitials…According to the Google Webmaster Central Blog, “to improve the mobile search experience, after January 10, 2017, pages where content is not easily accessible to a user on the transition from the mobile search results may not rank as highly.”If you’re not an SEO nerd, this basically means that sites with mobile popups—or what Google calls “interstitials”—may be penalized.Any sort of potential penalty obviously doesn’t bode well for your website, so it’s important to understand the details of this impending update and whether you’re likely to be affected. Here is what you need to know to make sure you’re not adversely impacted. What are interstitials?First things first. Just what is Google talking about when it refers to interstitials? The formal definition from Tech Target is this:“An interstitial (something ‘in between’) is a page that is inserted in the normal flow of editorial content structure on a website for the purpose of advertising or promotion.”You’ve seen these before, right? You’re tap-tapping along, and then boom!—a popup.Unlike other types of ads, e.g., banner ads, interstitials require the user to manually click/tap on the ad or click/tap on the “x” (close) button. You’re basically prevented from exploring a website until you comply and click on a link or “x.”This is obviously disruptive, and many people (including Google) feel that it detracts from the overall user experience. Here are three different examples Google specifically mentions that make content less accessible:Google also provides some examples of techniques that make content less accessible to a user:“Showing a popup that covers the main content, either immediately after the user navigates to a page from the search results, or while they are looking through the page.”“Displaying a standalone interstitial that the user has to dismiss before accessing the main content.”“Using a layout where the above-the-fold portion of the page appears similar to a standalone interstitial, but the original content has been inlined underneath the fold.”Not everything that seems like an interstitial is actually an interstitial. Cookie permissions, age verification, and small banners are all okay in Google’s eyes. What you need to doIn my opinion, it’s best to err on the side of caution in situations like these. The last thing you want is for your rankings to take a major hit because of interstitials.I would recommend removing any popups or intrusive ads at least for the time being until the dust settles. If using interstitials has been a key piece of your revenue model, I would suggest considering alternative options. What are the alternatives?Your best bet would be replacing a popup with a banner ad.According to Google, one technique that won’t be affected by the new signal is “banners that use a reasonable amount of screen space and are easily dismissible. For example, the app install banners provided by Safari and Chrome are examples of banners that use a reasonable amount of screen space.”Usually, the ideal positioning for a banner ad is at the top of the screen, where it’s very noticeable but doesn’t detract from the user experience. You can still use a considerable amount of screen space to grab the attention of visitors as long as it’s not overly intrusive. When done correctly, a well-placed banner ad should still generate a good number of clicks and ensure that visitors are aware of your offers.Another possibility is a stationary sidebar ad. These tend to work well because they’re still noticeable even after a visitor scrolls down your site.Even when it’s below the fold, a sidebar ad will continue to appear, increasing your chances of getting clicks. But what if I absolutely have to have pop-ups?If you feel like skipping popups altogether is going to kill your conversions, there is a third option: the time-driven popup.Such a popup ad will only appear after a visitor has been on your site for a certain amount of time and explored your content to some extent.Unlike a regular popup, where a visitor is hit instantaneously after arriving on your site, this delayed popup ensures they have at least some level of interest and be more open to an offer. However, I would still exercise caution with this technique because there is the potential for penalties.Next, you should know about Possum…One of the more signNow updates Google made in late 2016 was Possum. In fact, it’s arguably the biggest change Google has made to local SEO since the Pigeon update back in 2014.As you might imagine, it’s shaken things up quite a bit and has switched up the SEO landscape considerably. The first thing you’re probably wondering about is why exactly the SEO community called it Possum. Google usually names their updates after animals, but a possum isn’t as cute as a penguin or as awe-inspiring as a panda. Possum? Really?Well, the term was coined by Phil Rozek.According to Search Engine Land, “Rozek suggested the name, pointing out that it is fitting since many business owners think their Google My Business listings are gone, when in fact they are not. They have just been filtered—they’re playing possum.”Okay, so the possum name is supposed to make you think of something playing dead when really, it’s not dead.It all went down on September 1, 2016.Although it was never actually confirmed by Google, it was clear that a major change had occurred that specifically impacted the 3-pack and Local Finder, which you probably know better as the local results or Google Map results. All of a sudden, many of the websites that had ranked so well for so long had lost traction and saw a dip in their rankings. However, other sites that once had difficulty ranking saw a noticeable spike in their rankings. To get a better idea of the implications, it’s helpful to take a look at some data from an article published on Search Engine Land.In an attempt to determine precisely how big of an impact Possum had on local search, Search Engine Land signNowed out to Bright Local to conduct a study. In this study, Bright Local “took a look at the ranking trackers for 1,307 different businesses, which were tracking 14,242 keywords. Then they compared the difference between September 7 and August 31 (the date before Possum).”Here’s what they found:9% of the keywords had the business pop into the Local Finder when they weren’t there previously.11% of the keywords showed the business had increased in position by three or more positions.15% of the keywords showed the business had increased in position by one to two positions.35% of the keywords showed no change in position for the business.15% of the keywords showed the business had decreased by one to two positions.14% of the keywords showed the business had decreased by more than three positions. Here’s a graph to illustrate how this all breaks down:What does this mean for local SEO?Perhaps the most noticeable change was that businesses that aren’t located directly within the city limits now have a much better chance of ranking well. Here’s an example:Say there’s an Italian restaurant located in Hialeah, Florida. It’s very close to Miami but not located within the city limits.Prior to Possum, that restaurant would have had difficulty ranking for keywords such as “Italian restaurant Miami” or “Miami Italian restaurant.”But now, after Possum, that restaurant has a chance to rank for those keywords. And this makes sense when you think about it.Why should businesses very close to the city suffer just because they’re not exactly within the city limits?Odds are, many of those businesses would be just as relevant to the searchers as others located directly within a city. This recent update basically levels the playing field between businesses located right within a city and businesses located in the suburbs and other surrounding areas. As long as a business is within a close proximity to a city, it has the chance to rank when that city’s name is used in a search query. In my opinion, this is a logical move that will be beneficial in the long run. This spreads the wealth and ensures that search engine users find exactly what they’re looking for.IP address is a bigger factorIn the past, what popped up in search results was primarily based on the entered keywords. But with Possum, Google will now take a search engine user’s IP address into account when generating search results. This is Google’s way of ensuring users get the most accurate results when performing a search. The main reason for this change is the massive volume of people using mobile devices.Google is continually looking for new ways to accommodate mobile search users.Because people are often on the go, this ensures they’re always getting the best results based on their current location. This is something you’ll want to keep in mind and use to guide your local SEO approach.I think that Inc offers a smart suggestion:“Your QA team should test your work as a user within the region of the business and not simply test it by Googling the business name and location.”Doing so should definitely give you an edge over competitors still basing their strategy primarily on keywords (an outdated strategy as this point). There’s more variance in search results based on keyword selectionBefore the Possum update, users could enter similar keyword phrases and get virtually the same results. For instance, entering “Italian restaurant Miami,” “Miami Italian restaurant,” or “Italian restaurant Miami FL” would generate pretty similar results. But that’s no longer the case.In fact, there could be a considerable variance depending upon the specific keywords a user enters.Let’s look at an example. Here are the results I got when I used “Italian restaurant Miami” as a keyword phrase:And here’s what happened when I used “Italian restaurant Miami FL” as a keyword:Notice by simply adding “FL” at the end, I got completely different results. Pretty interesting. This just goes to show that Google is “spreading the wealth,” and even a small keyword nuance can produce entirely different results.

What are some of the best guerilla marketing tactics that you know?
Guerrilla marketing is an advertisement strategy concept designed for businesses to promote their products or services in an unconventional way with little budget to spend. This involves high energy and imagination focusing on grasping the attention of the public in more personal and memorable level. Some large companies use unconventional advertisement techniques, proclaiming to be guerrilla marketing but those companies will have larger budget and the brand is already visible.[1] The main point of guerrilla marketing is that the activities are done exclusively on the streets or other public places, such as shopping centers, parks or beaches with maximum people access so as to attract a bigger audience.[Source:Wiki]1. Engage in offline guerrilla marketingGuerrilla marketing is a generic term for the use of unconventional marketing strategies, and because online marketing channels are so narrowly structured, offline is the best arena to flex your small business’s guerrilla marketing muscle. So, starting now, ignore what you know about marketing channels, and let your inner child out to play.Offline guerrilla marketing ideas:Leave sticky notes in random places (bars, coffee shops).Use chalk to advertise promotions on a sidewalk.“Accidentally” leave a branded pen at the bank.Donate branded bookmarks to your local library.Use sticky notes to create temporary images on buildings, cars, etc.2. Drop business cardsThis is one offline guerrilla marketing strategy that I want to talk about specifically. It’s more of a necessity than an option. If you run a small business, you must have business cards and dole them out! Don’t just share them when you first meet someone new. Drop them everywhere.Places to drop business cards:Leave a business card with your tip at a restaurant.See a public bulletin board? Put up a business card.Go to the library and place business cards in books related to your business. When you see a contest fish bowl asking for business cards, drop yours in. Always.3. Take pictures/videos of everythingBecause social media marketing takes place online, many business owners and marketers forget that social campaigns can be boosted by offline efforts. One way to do this is by taking photos of company events and daily activities, and then posting those online. Videos help too. If someone from your company speaks at an event, for example, record it and upload it to YouTube.Real-life photos from the offline world show the personality of your company and increase online user engagement. Facebook posts with photos, for example, receive 84% more clicks and twice as many Likes than text-only posts, according to Kissmetrics. And some of the most popular social networks (Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr) are image-based, making photos ever more important for online marketing.4. Donate gift certificates or products as prizesBy offering your product or service as the prize for a local contest, you can build visibility for your business while showing your commitment to the community. If your business provides computer repairs, for example, you could donate a gift certificate for a 2-hour repair to a local non-profit organization. The organization may announce your branded prize to a room full of sponsors. Your business could also be listed in various publications, such as the organization’s website, newsletter, or even a press release.5. Speak at eventsProfessional events offer a great way to meet new people, share your ideas, and build brand awareness. They’re even more effective if you speak at them. Find a local event related to your industry, come up with an educational topic you can speak on, and volunteer. If you don’t yet have the level of clout required to speak at an event, attending events can be just as helpful.https://www.indigoprod.com/nyc-v...Guerrilla Tactics: Ambush Marketing at It’s Best.15 Creative Guerrilla Marketing Ideas10 Wild and Crazy Marketing Ideas That Worked | Page 9 of 11 | AllBusiness.comBest 100 Guerilla Marketing CampaignsThe 80 Best Guerilla Marketing Ideas I’ve Ever Seen
