select the second circuit and if there are multiple filing locations available in the circuit you have chosen select the one you want the file into from the location drop-down box and click Next enter your court case number follow the example format below and click Next that case number is found in the court system it will be displayed here along with your case name click on the case number to continue introduction this will bring you to the introduction to the interview process read the information on this page if at any time you need additional information you can click on any of the frequently asked questions or FA cues on the right to get the answers click close when you finish reading the FAQ and click Next to continue the getting started page provides links to helpful information that guides the defendant and the plaintiff in a small claims case if the complaint was filed against you you are the defendant and are encouraged to click the underlined words below the defendant guidance section if you are the person who filed the complaint you are the plaintiff and are encouraged to click the underlined words below the plaintiff guidance section you can watch the slideshows by Judge Susan W Ashley and read or print the written overviews if you have any questions before you start your case call the courts information center click next and this will automatically take you to the next section filer information who is filing indicate who you are by selecting yourself from the list note that questions marked with an asterisk are mandatory if you click next without answering the required question you will get an error message of course you can always add or amend your answer questions without an asterisk are optional also each time you click the next button your answers are automatically saved to your turbo court account note that attorneys may not file through turbo court at this time instead they can go to the courts website for other filing options if your name was not listed you could select I am not on the list and then click Next in this situation you'd be adding yourself as a case participant indicate this by clicking yes I want to add myself as a new case participant and then click Next again attorney cannot file through turbo court so select no here indicating you are not an attorney and then select what your case participant role is from the drop-down this I'll select I'm the defendant and click Next indicate if you are an individual or a business and then enter the requested information below again fields with an asterisk are required if you indicated you are a business you will need to fill out additional fields I'm going to return to the who is filing question assuming that you are in the list select yourself I'll select myself as the defendant and then click Next this automatically takes you to the next section filing details what would you like to file on this page select what form you would like to file the choices shown depend on if you are the plaintiff or the defendant forms marked with an A are automatically generated by your answers to the questions forms marked with a C you must complete by typing the required information into a form and then attaching that form instructions for how to do this are available at the end of the program in this scenario I will select motion however note that by selecting miscellaneous options additional document choices become available including other motions that are less commonly filed but I'll return to indicating that I'm simply filing a motion and then I'll click Next your contact information if the court does currently have your email address for this case you will see two fields to enter the required email address and then re-enter it for verification court rules require you to provide and maintain an email address to receive all communications regarding your case you can click here to read the court rules if the court does already have your email address for the case it is displayed as you see here check this box if you need to update your email address entered a second time for verification similarly your mailing address the court has on file for you in this case is displayed check to make sure it is current if you would like to update this information check the box and enter new information into the fields that open automatically you may provide a telephone number but it is not mandatory there is no asterisk if your residents or businesses dress is different than your mailing address check this box and then provide the other a mail address on the following page I'll go ahead and uncheck this box because this is my current address and now I'll click Next to continue filing a motion select the title of the motion you want to file the type of motion you select will determine what additional questions you are asked on the following pages if your motion isn't in the list you can select other and then enter of your motion in the field that appears I'll select motion to change venue and then click Next listing the facts on this page lists the facts you want the court to know when considering this motion any time you enter information into a multi-line box such as this one you need to be careful about providing confidential information read the FAQ is on the right on this page to get additional information if I check this confidential information box it provides instructions explaining how to include confidential information for example if you are providing dates of birth account numbers social security numbers or something similar then that is considered rural 12c confidential information and it needs to be split up in that situation you would check this box enter the non confidential information in this top box and enter the confidential information in this bottom box for the rule 12c confidential information in addition if there are other details that do not fall into the rule 12 C category but you still want it to be kept confidential then check this other information to be kept confidential information box and enter all the details in the box at the very top you will also need to attach a motion to seal when you finish the interview the court will rule on that motion regarding whether the information you provided should or should not be kept confidential terpil court provides you with a link to that court form later on so you can fill it out and attach it if you need it if you are not including any confidential information then simply leave the confidential information checkbox unchecked and simply click Next on this page state the relief you are seeking with this motion again the FAQ is on the right are helpful and if you are including confidential information click that checkbox below click next court rules require that you seek the approval of the other party or parties in your case regarding what you are asking for in any in many motions if the other party is represented by counsel contact the attorney rather than the other party indicate if the other party agrees with the relief you are seeking in your motion your three choices are the other party does agree the other party does not agree or I was unable to or did not obtain the other parties opinion I'll select that third choice and click Next on this page explain why you are unable to obtain the other parties opinion or why you believe this motion is not one that requires you to seek the agreement of the other party and click Next you must serve copies of all documents filed with the court to all the other parties in your case or to their attorneys if they are represented check the parties to whom a copy of this filing will be delivered and then click Next to proceed for each person listed select the correct key service contact or email only parties without olicity service contact or email address may be served by u.s. mail or hand delivery click next after you have made your selections when you have answer all the questions turbo court will automatically generate your forms for you you now have a completed form set and it is given a unique table court form set number on the left you will see that no filing fee is required in this scenario you can view the forms by simply clicking the view link for each one let's take a look at the motion to change venue because I updated my email address the change of address notification form is also generated if you need to make any changes you can click review and edit your answers to return to the interview turbo Court has also generated the courts what to expect after you file a motion which you should read let's look at the attach your documents area anytime you see this icon with the red exclamation point this tells you that this is a required document that you must attach this yellow asterisk icon means you can attach additional documents up to 15 to attach any additional documents click the attach link if you need to convert your file to PDF format the information here at the top explains how to do that first select the document category I'll select exhibit then select the document type from the available choices enter a title or description and click Choose file to select the file you want to attach note the allowed file type extensions for any attachment when you're ready click Save turbo core will process the file to make sure it's valid and there's your attached additional document enter your name for a filing and by submitting your documents you agree to the terms and conditions which you can read by clicking here when you're ready click Submit your turbo court form set number five six to six six was just sent to the court and the status changed from completed to filing pending once the core processes your submission it will change to delivered and then it will change the e filed after it is accepted by the court once you have successfully delivered your submission to the court you can click on the messages tab to see any messages that are automatically being sent to you by the court through turbo court to return to your filing details click the filing details button at the top and once the status changes to e filed you can click on the e service tab to see if the people that were sent the documents through their email address have looked at them also after the status changes to e filed you will see additional links to access the stamped court copy of your documents and that's it you're done you're now simply waiting to find out the status of the courts processing of your submission and waiting for it to change from delivered to e filed
