What is the best place to eat street food in Mumbai?
You will get different lists depending on the location the person is staying. I being from western suburbs you will find more recommendations around western suburbs area. However I have included some South Mumbai places as well.Street Food:1) Dosawala opposite Mithibhai - Vile Parle (west)(quite popular but I am not great fan of his dosas. Variety of dosas are nice. I would recommend his "Vada Pavs" which are quite excellent!)2) Dosawala on Bajaj Road - Vile Parle west. Near Mc Donalds. I like his dosas better than the first doasawala mentioned above.3) Juice center: Right adjacent to dosawala on Bajaj Road – Vile Parle (west) is the Juice stall. Quite excellent varieties offered. The menu consists of variety of mix fruit juices. Other than usual fruits the vendor offers fruits like dragon, kiwis and many others. For some juices he offers small shot taste so you can decide what exactly you need. Definitely recommended!4) Pali Hill Dosawala: Third dosawala in my recommendation (am I Crazy about dosas? Definitely yes!) 5) Sandwizza : Of all the sandwiches I like the Sandwizza sandwiches the best. They are available in many parts of Mumbai but I usually take out from the one near Santacruz station. The simplicity of brown bread vegetable sandwich is quite excellent!6) Sardar Pavbhaji: Tardeo: Very old one and quite popular. Although I haven’t tried them for quite long time. Little bit different and worth a try!3) China Gate: There are many ones and the oldest one is at Bandra. However I prefer the Versova branch where the food and ambience both is better (my opinion). It goes without saying it is a good chinese restaurant.4) Noodle Bar: There are many ones (Phoenix mall, Bandra/Khar, Juhu). Unique thing about them is that they give you a list of ingredients. You choose which ingredient you want in your rice or noodles. The noodles or Rice are tossed so they call it “Toss it Up”. 5) Mangiamo: Bandra. Unfortunately I have heard this Italian restaurant in going under construction and will launch as a new Japanese restaurant. The Italian cuisines were quite excellent. Do keep watch on this one.6) Punjab Grill: Juhu. Excellent restaurant with good Punjabi dishes. Paneers are very soft and the best variety!7) Hometown Café: Juhu . Little bit different cuisines but quite excellent ambience and food. 8) Only Parathas: Khar linking road. It offers nice variety of parathas. Do try them out.9) Mainland China: Oberoi Mall, Goregaon east. They don’t serve your regular Indian-chinese dishes. They claim to be more authentic chinese. It seems they have revamped their menu. Good option if you want little bit different Chinese.10) The Royal China: Bandra. They also claim to be authentic Chinese. Good another option.11) Barbeque Nation: I read it has closed down in Bandra but there are other branches as well. Good unique starters served at your table (as much you want). Quite nice if you want to try new dishes. Good luck if you are able to signNow main course buffet. They price you per person. Definitely recommended.12) Le Mangii: Juhu. It was little bit difficult to locate this Italian restaurant. They offer nice Juhu beach view (when I went there there was almost no one at beach and had very calm effect and privacy). Nice romantic ambience but little bit expensive. 13)The Ambassador: Churchgate: The food is fine but their unique selling point is the view. It is a revolving restaurant and overlooks Arabian sea, Brabourne stadium and Wankhede stadium. Quite excellent view and captures nice Mumbai view!14) Asia 7, Paladium mall in Phoenix mall, Lower Parel: True to its name, it offers not just Chinese but also Thai, Indonesian and other Asian dishes. Good one if you want to try out other Asian dishes. There are many which I could not list here but I am sure there are many. You can also try coffee from coffee vendors around king circle near Khalsa college (not King Circle station) Matunga. You get excellent aroma of coffee smell in that area from road side stalls setup in the morning. Hope this helps.
