Can I transfer my EPF account online?
The EPFO or Employees' Provident Fund Organization has introduced an online system to facilitate transfer claims and withdrawals by its members. Using this system, an employee can transfer his or her provident fund (EPF) balance with the previous employer to a new employer or can make partial/complete withdrawal of his PF balance with ease. In online transfer of PF, an employee has the option to get his or her claim attested by the current or the previous employer. After you submit your EPF transfer request, the employer will verify/correct your member details, approve and submit the request online through the portal. However, the employer needs to have a digital signature in order to affect the transfer. There are certain eligibility criteria which an employee needs to meet in order to transfer the EPF online.Online transfer of EPFWhen you move from one company to another, you need to transfer your Employee Provident Fund (EPF) as well. With the introduction of Unified Account Number (UAN) for EPFO subscribers this process has become simpler as the account number remains unchanged. Here’s how to initiate the EPF transfer process online.Register on the EPF member portalIn order to initiate the claims transfer, you need to be a member of the EPF member portal. The registration on the portal can be carried out by logging on to the EPFO India website.Portal for online claims transferThe employee must access the Online Transfer Claim Portal and register a claim for transfer of EPF. The login details for this portal are the same as those for the member portal.Check eligibilityIt is important to check whether you are eligible to make an online transfer claim. In some cases, a physical form (Form 13) must also be submitted.ProcessIf you are eligible to make the transfer online, click on the ‘Request for transfer of funds’ and enter the PF numbers of your previous and current employer. The claim needs to be attested online by either your previous or current employer. On filling in the details, a PIN will be generated and sent to the registered mobile number.AuthenticationA tracking ID will be generated to track the progress of the online application. The printable Transfer Claim Form (Form 13) can be saved in the system. Print out Form 13, sign it and submit it to the employer to complete the process of claim submission.Reasons to transfer your PFOnce an individual starts his career by taking up employment in any of the PF registered organization, an employee would be registered for PF purpose and both employee and employer contributions to employee’s PF and the fund earns interest till withdrawal. Further, it is not uncommon especially in early or mid-years of the career, to switch job for various reasons with or without break. In such scenarios, what happens to the PF account of the employee already created with the previous employer? The employee will have two options in such casesEmployee’s contribution with interest can be withdrawn if the employee continues to be on break for up to 60 days; orTransfer the balance to the current employerAs already mentioned, in order to make it an ideal saving for retirement it is always better to transfer the PF balance instead of withdrawing. This is also advisable from the tax standpoint as withdrawal of PF within 5 years of continuous service attracts tax.How to use UAN to transfer PF online? The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has been taking several measures to simplify the operation of EPF account both for employer and employees. Keeping up with technology revolution, EPFO is also striving towards making all the process related to EPF electronic, more specifically PF transfer and withdrawal of PF which are generally tedious and time-consuming.EPFO introduced Universal Account Number (UAN), which acts as an umbrella for the multiple Member Ids allotted to an individual by different employers. UAN enables linking of multiple EPF Accounts (Member Id) allotted to a single member. UAN offers a bouquet of services like dynamically updated UAN card, updated PF passbook including all transfer-in details, facility to link previous members’ ID with present ID, monthly SMS regarding credit of contribution in PF account and facility for auto-triggering transfer request on change of employment.Documents required for transferring PF onlineWhile the PF transfer was possible online earlier under ‘Online Transfer Claim Portal’, with the introduction of UAN, the process of transfer is revised and shifted under ‘unified portal’. However, in order to make online PF transfer, please ensure the following. The member should have activated his UAN in UAN portal and mobile number used for activation should also be activeBank account and bank IFSC code of employee should be seeded against the UAN Seeding Aadhar number and PAN against UAN is not mandatory for raising transfer claims. The employer should have approved the e-KYCThe previous/current employer should have digitally registered authorized signatories in EPFOPF account number of both previous and current employment of an employee should be entered in EPFO databaseOnly one transfer request against the previous member ID can be acceptedPersonal information and PF account related information is shown in EPFO should be correctProcedure to transfer PF onlineNow we know that PF transfer can be made online and above criteria need to be fulfilled. Let us understand the procedure step by step with the help of screenshots:Step 1Login to Unified portal (member interface) by using your credentials i.e., UAN number and passwordStep 2After login, click on ‘One Member – One EPF Account (Transfer Request)’ under Online ServicesStep 3Verify personal information and PF account for present employment:Step 4PF account details of previous employment would appear on clicking on ‘Get details’ below.Step 5You have the option of choosing either your previous employer or current employer for attesting the claim form based on the availability of authorized signatory holding DSC. Choose either of the employers and provide member id/UAN:Step 6In the next step, click on ‘Get OTP’ to receive OTP to UAN registered mobile number and enter the OTP and click on submit. The employer will digitally approve your EPF transfer request by accessing employer interface of the unified portalFill up form 13 with details including PF number from both previous and current employer and download the transfer claim (pdf format). How can I promote my website for free?
I can only tell you from my 4+ years of blogging experience, and that of my friends that they shared with me.The link that you've provided in the question description is quite comprehensive, and pretty much covers up everything. In fact, it covers more that what would normally be required. A lot of it depends on what kind of a blog you're running and what is your motivation behind promoting - Making/Joining a good community, more readership, more money, etc. While most of these are inter-related the approach to promoting my differ, based on your primary goal.I'll put my views on the points mentioned on that post, of whether it worked for us or not, and if it's worth your time/effort/money:Use Social Media – Yes. Facebook works great to get that initial readership among your friends, and a few of their friends when they share your posts. Posting a link to all your posts on FB is generally a good idea. Do not use FB Notes to fetch entire blog posts on FB, if you want to have more readership for your site. If however, you just want people to read, notes makes it easier for people to read content then and there. Also create a Facebook Page/Group for your blog, where you can discuss your posts, and other related things. It'll serve as a good place for announcements, feedback, and surveys. Google Search/Twitter work best to get new users you have no prior connections with. Some of the points below are required for SEO, that'll bring your blog up on search results. Use popular hashtags like #amwriting and tweet links to your posts as you write them over twitter. You can retweet the same link over different times during a day, but don't overdo it, and spam people. 3-5 a day shouldn't be a problem, as long as you're using twitter for other relevant/interesting conversations during the day.Link to other blogs in your posts – No one's ever invited me because of a link, but yes links do help. It's mostly, I link you - You link me, approach with bloggers though. But don't link to everything. Provide links to blogs you genuinely like. They might take some time to link you back, but it's okay. People who visit your site would know you have good taste, and you'll gain credibility. And nothing sparks friendship faster than, I hopped over from XYZ's blog, as he had a link to you. Good returning linkings also help in SEO. Comment on other blogs – Like it or not, blogging is to much extent - you scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours. When you're starting, to have readership, you'll have to read more. And everyone likes to know that someone out there is listening when they are voicing their opinions. It's nice and courteous to put a comment on what you read. I believe that a writer has earned at least as much. A friend also told me, that there's something nice about every piece of writing that you can point to and say that you liked it, and make a connection with the writer. If you don't like anything at all, then may be you can writing a polite, critical comment on why you didn't like it. Now, not all people take criticism well, but I've met a few very good friends who were genuinely looking for good criticism in an attempt to get better. They might want to have you as a critique partner for all you know.Post frequently – This should be the first and absolutely necessary rule. It helps for SEO, to build relationships, and becomes a habit of people to look out for your next post, as you get better.Include blog information on your business card - If it is a business blog, sure. Otherwise, don't go printing cards yet. But yes, putting a link on mail signatures, social profiles, etc helps. I get a decent traction of visitors from Quora, just because I've put a link on my profile.Interlink all your websites and blogs - Yes to everything the post said.Guest blog – Yes it helps, but it comes much later in the cycle. Once you've made friends with fellow bloggers, you'll develop a community of sorts. You can then guest blog at each others blogs to get introduced to some new readership. They'll also help you promote your contests/achievements.Participate in online forums – Just as I said, that Quora gives me traction, though that is not the reason I'm active on Quora. I've never had, nor have any intentions of making money out of blogs, so I'm happy with the community I've built up over the years. More are welcome to join, but are not a necessity.Join communities – I'm personally not a fan of share me - share you communities. It feels superficial, and starts feeling like a job over time and kills the love behind writing/blogging. They do work though, they'll get you visitors, but often not the kind you'll want a good writer-reader relationship with. Like I said, depends what your motives are. You can join communities where people write on shared prompts/contests on sites like Poetry Jam, Poets & Writers, etc. If it's tech./business blogging for money though, the communities such as the ones mentioned in the article might do you good.Submit to article directories – I've never tried Ezine and About, so can't comment. By the looks of it, there seems no harm in trying. But if you're short on time, I wont keep this much up on the list.Business directories – Again depends what kind of a blog you're running. If it's a business blog, yes.Classifieds – I've never personally used, nor known any blogger who has. Full blown websites do, who have a team of content writers, never known personal bloggers using classifieds. So can't comment. Invite your contacts – The best kind of publicity for anything out there is word of mouth, and no one does it better than close friends and family. But again if it's a business/tech. blog, and they don't work in the same field don't expect anything more than the initial burst of good job/great going on the first couple of posts. That does boost self confidence at the start, but is not lasting.Stay in touch with your readers – If you have a team of writers and are going to roll out multiple posts in a day, a weekly digest of popular posts makes a lot of sense. Otherwise, a big subscribe via email box should suffice. You can get that from Feedburner/Feed My Inbox for free, and is easy to set up. Do try and personally reply to all the comments and feedback that you can get.Forums – With all the points listed here, I think you're going to be overwhelmed as it is. To me, blogging is supposed to be something you should want to do, and not have to do. If you treat it as a job you don't particularly like, it'll show on your posts. So if I were you, I'd not attempt the forums. I've noticed people on most forums are extremely passionate about some things, and often turn abusive quite easily. Finding a forum in your field of area, and building a reputation there would just involve too much of an effort.Social bookmarking sites – Hackernews for tech articles, and Stumbleupon and reddit for everything, wok like a charm. Reddit almost always delivers in terms of pageviews. Like everything else, there's a but. Reddit users tend to have a particular brand of humor, and are very opinionated. If they don't like something, they wont hesitate to bash it in public, and even throw cursed. It can turn ugly and demoralizing. If you can take some heat, it's the best way to catch eyeballs.Portfolio sites – If you want to post your designs/code, go for it. Otherwise, you can skip.Tutorial sites – How Tos, and DOs/DONTs sure get more readers. Careful, what you write though. Nothing hurts credibility more than someone pointing out that you're wrong. (As might happen to this answer :) It's always good though, to post what you did wrong, when you did wrong, and what you learned from it. It makes a human connection, and people often relate to it. This falls into what type of content is easier to promote, than actual promotion methodologies. I'd suggest that don't let salability guide your writing. Write with conviction and belief, the rest shall follow.Youtube video – This falls more into the category of promoting a product, than a blog. No need to do this for a blog. Too huge an investment, with little results. If it's you giving a lecture or reading out a story, post it. Don't go creating a video saying how cool is your blog.Link exchange with fellow bloggers – I covered this in Point no 2.Free ebooks – I'll go one step ahead and say downloadable pdfs. Even if it isn't an e-book, but just a pdf of a single post that you think is going to be really useful. Just like, "25 things every blogger must do to promote their blogs." You can create a well formatted pdf of the post, with your branding and contact details, and put it up for free download. People might want to keep this for reference or share with friends. They'll thank you for the good dead too. You'll get good promotion, and good karma. A rare combination.Press releases – If you can manage to pull it off, great. I'll suggest don't try too hard for it though. Press coverage for an article will get you accolades, and a burst of viewership, but it would be just a burst, and die out like a flash. It's good thing to post on the blog, and brag about, but not a sustainable source in terms of promotional benefits.Free downloads such as themes – Same as point 21.Interactive blog – Never tried Polls. Quizzes are just okay. Contests are great. I've had great success with contests. You can invite some bloggers you keep in high regard to judge. It'll allow you to strengthen the ties with them, as well as impartially run a contest. Invest in some real-value prizes like Amazon Gift Cards, and promote the shit out of them on social media. Especially twitter.Hire someone - Now wouldn't that be great! Erm.. No. Unless, you're running the blog just to make money out of it. If you feel overwhelmed with promotion, don't. Just concentrate on writing well, and reading just the blogs you like. You'll get noticed by your participation/comments, google would bring up your pages, and the process would start on it's own. It'll be slower growth, but hopefully you'll enjoy the journey.Hope this helps. Good luck with your blog.

What are good marketing strategies for a small business?
I’ve utilized 11 different marketing strategies for each of my businesses, and I know that each of them will still be relevant from 2018 and onwards. This answer is quite long, so I’ve also included a TL;DR, that way you can pick what you want to read more about. Most of these marketing strategies will create viable growth for any organization, and are worth trying for at least a month. However, before I list them, I feel the need to make one thing abundantly clear:No matter what anyone tells you, there is no one-size-fits-all marketing strategy. You will have to experiment (it’s called A/B Testing) for as long as you want to remain relevant and profitable. So the secret isn’t SEO (search engine optimization). It’s not traditional “business card” networking. It’s not even Facebook Ads. The secret is whatever works for your business, and it’s 100% unique.TL;DR:Advertising on FacebookMaking a Google My Business ListingUsing Google AdwordsPutting Greater Emphasis on Content MarketingCouponsCreating eMail Marketing FunnelsWebinarsFree Offers / ConsultationsGuest Blogging and Writing ColumnsCreating PartnershipsKeynote Speeches1. Advertising on FacebookTwo million small to medium sized businesses like yours are currently advertising on Facebook. It’s cheap and effective so it only makes sense. As far as targeting goes, Facebook Ads are ridiculously good. They allow you to target a specific audience based on location, interests, age, sex, online behavior, and many other factors that no other platform can quite get down. The best part about creating Facebook Ads is how easy it is! You simply need to have an eye catching image or video and accompanying header. If you’re not sure what constitutes “eye catching” in your niche, you can use the Facebook Ads Manager and test multiple ads for one product — eventually going with the one that generates the most amount of money for you.Doing this will not automatically guarantee returns, but thankfully, there are plenty of 3rd party tools to use, AdEspresso by Hootsuite is the first one that comes to mind!Use it to run your campaigns and speed up your journey to positive ROI.NOTE:If your business is largely visual, don’t just use Facebook. Use its sister-company, Instagram as well. Instagram Ads allows you to benefit from having the same data base and targeting options as Facebook, while simultaneously allowing you to connect with an audience that is better primed for visual sales. Is this your ideal solution? Making a Google My Business Listing (and Ranking)A Google My Business (GMB) listing is the smartest thing that you can do for your business.Think about it; Google is the biggest search engine in the world, and if anyone searches for a particular product/service, you’ve pretty much got first dibs! Most search results on Google first include a paid ad, and if someone is looking for a service, the next results are typically GMB listings. Ranking your business in the top 3 search results will bring in ROI like you’ve never seen before. What exactly is Google My Business? If it’s your first time hearing about GMB, it can probably sound a little intimidating. GMB simply combines variously Google platforms and puts them in one place, i.e your business’ Google+profile, your Google Reviews, Google Maps, and gives you access to data like Google Analytics and Google Insights.Since typing this answer, Google is probably working on plenty more offerings…One thing is for sure, from the minute you list your business on GMB and get it ranking, you’ll immediately get the credibility and visibility (of course) that you’ve been looking for.If your small business is local, this is a must-do!If you’re ready to get started, read this:How to optimize your Google My Business listing: expert tips by Graham Charlton7 SEO Mistakes That Leak Money From Local Businesses by Jacob McMillen3. Using Google AdwordsJust like I said in the above strategy, no other platform gives you the type of exposure as Google. At least not in modern history. If online marketing is a baby, then Google Adwords is its godfather.Since Google Adwords has been around for so long, it’s really competitive and pretty expensive if I may say so myself — however, it works extremely well. Here’s the thing; while Adwords is expensive, it’s also really effective if you’ve already utilized on-page SEO, so start there first. SEO makes Adwords a whole lot cheaper! How does SEO make Google Adwords cheaper? For every single ad on the search engine, Google gives them a quality score based on its CTR (click-through-rate), the landing page that the ad sends traffic to, and ad relevance. The quality score also factors in the bid rate that you will need in order for your ad to be displayed. The higher the quality score, the lower the bid cost.Adwords aren’t a zero-sum game, though. You can pair your Google Adwords strategy with another strategy on this list and create a killer campaign! If that’s exciting for you, check these links out for further reading:The Complete Google AdWords Tutorial by Jerry BanfieldThe Iceberg Effect: How Your AdWords Strategy Is Slowly Drowning by Johnathan Dane4. Putting Greater Emphasis on Content Marketing18% of marketers say that content marketing has the greatest commercial impact on their business of any channel in 2016.What exactly is Content Marketing? It’s actually a process of creating and then distributing content that is high value, relevant and consistent with your brand in order to attract a clearly defined audience. You can think of answering Quora questions as a form of content marketing. Sort of.The whole point of content marketing is to focus on long-term results, instead of short-term ROI. While the initial content marketing payoff is very low compared to using Facebook Ads, for instance, in the long-term you create a reputation for your business and that in turn generates sustainable growth in visitors, leads and customers. It’s not easy, though. You still have have have the right mix of:High-quality contentPick relevant topicsOptimize your content with SEOBe consistentMind you, a lot of people automatically think of BLOGS when thinking about content, however, this is 2017 — content ranges from videos, podcasts, online courses, slides and many other ways that people prefer to consume information. To know which content works with your business, you’ll have to do some A/B Testing. There will be a format that eventually sticks. You can read some more here:Getting Started With Content Marketing by Content Marketing InstituteWhy You Need a Growth Model For Your Blog (And How to Create One) by Devesh Khanal5. CouponsBear with me here, I know this one is a bit of an unconventional suggestion, but if you sell a product or offer a service, you can use sites like Groupon as means of promotion for your business. Before anyone checks out of an online store these days, they always search for coupons, and when they’re scrolling through, they’re bound to see your offer as well.Your products will receive mass exposure, and you’ll also get targeted local advertising, increased brand awareness and a slew of new converts — even if they’re only there for the coupon, they’re still spending money.WARNING:If your deal goes viral and becomes extremely popular, you might find yourself a little overwhelmed and unable to handle the new customers, so just make sure that you the math properly.Remember, you want to attract customers with a coupon, but the proposition on your site should keep them there.Sound confusing? Creating eMail Marketing FunnelsIn 2018 why will this still be relevant? Good question. Simply because of this one reason: Many of the people that visit your site are not going to immediately be convinced by your value proposition. They will need some finessing.Getting their contact information allows you to send them additional marketing materials until they’re completely convinced that spending their hard earned money on your business is worth their time. And also, email is still the most high converting marketing channel — ever! How do you take advantage of this?Simple. You start with something called a “lead magnet”. It would be an offering that compels your website’s visitors to give you their email address — in exchange for something that they would view as valuable, i.e a free service trial, a free digital download, early access to a webinar, a coupon, anything. The point is to get someone to subscribe to your email list and once they do that, you will be able to display your credibility by giving them valuable content.Other benefits of email marketing include:Low costGlobal signNowEasy to automateEasy to segmentImmediate communicationEasy to setup and runEasy to track and optimizeTo be quite honest, if you are a complete newbie to marketing, you’ll notice that a lot of marketing channels are super hard to start. Email marketing is one of the strategies that are relatively simple to start.Read these two pieces to learn some more:21 Powerful Ways to Quickly Grow Your Email List by Jacob McMillenHow to Build Your Email List: The (Better Than) Ultimate Guide by Aaron Orendorff7. WebinarsIf you’re serious about your business, then you’ve probably woken up or stayed up till 2 AM at some point — to catch a webinar. If not, then you’ve got a long way to go (just kidding)! What exactly is a webinar? It’s a seminar that takes place on the web — hence the name, “webinar”. And it can honestly range from being a presentation, to a demonstration to a discussion. It doesn’t always have to be one thing.A webinar actually goes hand in hand with email marketing, because if you pick your topic correctly, you can drive a slew of subscribers into your email list and build some credibility for your business. The great thing about webinars is that they can be pre-recorded and made into standalone products (or even a series of products), which makes them a great platform for training — live and recorded. Before you maybe conflate the two, it bears mentioning that webinars and video tutorials are two completely different things. A webinar tends to have a start time and has live Q&As between yourself and your audience, so it’s far more interactive than a typical video or livestream. You will need webinar software to run a webinar that utilizes the following functions:2-Way Audio – the presenter speaks while the viewers are muted, but the presenter can “turn on” individual viewers so everyone can hear their questionScreenshare – the presenter can share their screen or switch to video for whiteboard teaching or live demonstrationPolls – the presenter can invite viewers to take a poll or provide feedback in other waysCaveat: Webinars do not work for all niches. You’ll really need to think carefully about whether your customers will benefit from a webinar and if not, there are plenty of other strategies that you can always go with.Do webinars fit with your niche? Free Offers / ConsultationsPut yourself in your customers’ shoes for a second; I’m sure that when it comes to any kind of professional services, you want to have access to expertise, right? That’s why it’s important to position yourself as an expert or an authority figure in whatever your small business’ niche is. By promoting a free consultation, you can generate new leads. Here’s the thing, you shouldn’t even worry yourself about whether you’re disclosing too much free information in the consultation, because if your customers feel that your service is worth the money — they’ll stick around.Okay, it’s true that there are going to be a lot of freeloaders looking for something that they can quickly grab, exploit and go, but to be honest, those customers were never going to buy. Why stress yourself over them?If you can provide a high-quality consultation for free in 30 minutes, a real customer will think, “imagine what they can do in an hour…” and sign up.Advertising a free consultation can be done both online and via pamphlets, newspapers, signs or through word-of-mouth, and hey who’s to say that you can’t put a free consultation front and center on your website or on your social media?Which businesses does this strategy work for? ALL of them. Seriously. Here are some reading essentials:Should You Offer Free Consultations? by Courtney Johnston6 Ways To Make Free Consults Work For You by Laura Simms9. Guest Blogging and Writing ColumnsAny fairly decent writer can share their opinion through weekly or monthly write-ups and watch as this endeavor does wonders for their brand. While you won’t get paid for your efforts, what you will receive however is an opportunity to make consistent contact with an audience and potentially build a relationship with its readers. Then, that audience will immediately think of you when they encounter a certain situation, or other experts in your field.Start out with local newspapers and non-profit magazines, because they’re typically always looking for high-quality contributors who won’t seek a fee, then move on to the more exclusive publications like Forbes, Inc, Fast Company etc once you’ve got your skin in the game.Again, you’re not going to make any money from guest blogging or writing columns, but you will make bank in other ways (i.e. speaking engagements) by being able to say that “you’ve been published in such and such”.The aim of successful guest blogging is to make your brand/business/name valuable to your target audience in a not-so subtle way. Guest blogging and writing columns is an opportunity for you to build trust with your customers, even though someone else already did the hard work of building this audience. How do you get started?Write how-to guidesComment on current eventsPublish interviews with other interesting peopleCreate list-articles (listicles)Report on trends or eventsHere are some additional ideas to get the cogs turning in your brainHow to Secure Guest Posts on Big Publications (WSJ, Forbes & HuffPo) by Sujan PatelHow I Wrote for Fast Company, Copyblogger,& Entrepreneur by Aaron Orendorff10. Partner With Other BusinessesTeamwork is always more effective than singular effort, and combining resources with another business can help you do things you could never accomplish on your own. It’s typically best to target companies in your local area, even if your clientele isn’t local. Your goal is to work out a complementary arrangement that provides mutual benefit for both businesses. Some joint venture examples include:A PPC agency could partner with a CRO agency to refer clients to each other.A coffee shop could offer free coffee vouchers to a plumbing company’s customers.A marketing company could partner with an accounting firm to recommend each other’s services during new client onboarding.A beauty therapist could offer free manicures for a hair stylist’s clients. There is really no limit to what’s possible. Simply identify crossover in your audience and a non-competitor’s audience and then find a way to tap into that crossover in a mutually beneficial way.Sound interesting? Good! Speak At EventsIn terms of branding and establishing yourself as an authority, few things are more impactful than being a speaker at popular events in your niche. While invitations to speak at larger events are often extended as a result of accomplishments or visible influence, you can also work your way into these opportunities by becoming a talented speaker and delivering great talks at smaller events.Or you can simply use it as another marketing channel, by speaking at some of these types of events:Local clubs – think Rotary, Lion’s, Chamber of Commerce.Business networking groups.Specific interest clubs (photography, hiking, sewing, etc.)Browse local events on Eventbrite and We are what we do | Meetup.Schools.Churches.Check events in your local newspaper and magazines.Big companies and their employees.Be prepared, and treat every event like a big deal. And finally, the last couple of additional reading linksHow To Start Speaking At Events by Chris BroganWhy I Get Invited to Speak at Events (And How You Can Too) by Rohit BhargavaAt the end of the day, what’s good for the goose isn’t always good for the gander — you’ll need to do a proper business audit (based on your customer demographics) to determine whether any of these suggestions will be a fit for your business, but my guess is yes.Your answers from your evaluation should lead you to at least 4 of the strategies mentioned in this answer.Good luck!

How many tech sales tools to help grow sales in b2b are there?
Here are the 14 sales tools we at Tint think are the most useful new sales tools for mid-market b2b companies. The details on why each tool is top notch are outlined below. Enjoy! As Tint's first hire, my main goal was to bring in 100k by the end of 2013. With the tools listed below, I was able to bring in $128,914 by NYE of 2013. Now that we are on pace to hitting 2MM by 2014, my next goal is to streamline our sales team to set our sales vision higher: How to hit 20MM. Now, I am firm believer of the saying “under commit, over deliver” but I also believe in setting high expectations that even if I’m shy of the goal, I’ll still be happy with the results. For example in November, I committed 50k to Tim (our CEO) but with 37 web-to-lead inquiries given to me, I was able to get 36 leads to show up to an appointment, which helped me close 21 accounts in 30 days. I closed the month with $43,300 and was happy with results. My key performance metrics include a 97% show ratio and 58% closing ratio. This is an average key performance metric for Tim and I, and we are now strategically working to scale it. However before we do, I would like to share the 11 tools for our sales success:Basic Marketing Tools for Lead Generation:Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+Context, Blogging & ContentWord-of-mouth/ReferralsEmail Newsletters & Promo CodesSEO & Blogs w/ Content MarketingPowered by Tint logo for free users 1) Olark is an effective way to talk to your customers for sales and support in real-time on your site.If the web visitor doesn’t fill out a form, they usually send a quick question with Olark’s chat box. Because we focus so much on customer happiness, our web visitor will instantly get connected to our CEO, Tim Sae Koo. He will immediately answer sales questions or help with support inquiries. You’d be surprised at how many closed customers you can achieve by just answering a few questions when the lead/visitor is most interested with your product. If he isn’t around, the inquiry will go straight to sales@tintup.com which our sales team can immediately answer. 9 times out of 10, Tim and I are able set appointments through Olark. If more than 12 hours pass and we still haven’t responded to an inquiry, then the lead loses interest. Time kills deals and Olark is a great solution to nurture your leads, in real time, and let them know that they are very important.2) Hubspot is an inbound marketing software platform that helps companies attract visitors, convert leads, and close customers. When a visitor/lead visits www.tintup.com, we use Hubspot to create forms and CTAs that track, score and nurtures leads. Hubspot has tons of features that we weren’t able to use because we only signed up for a 30 day free trial. But for the most part, we used their a/b testing landing pages, CTA, and Signals. Signals is Hubspot’s real-time notifications that tell you when and how to follow up with your leads and customers. The 30 day trial did generate an additional $30k for Tint though! Although, the results are great, we are eager to learn more about other similar softwares like Pardot, Kissmetrics, and Marketo. 3) Mailchimp is an easy and effective way to send better email newsletters to your customers.Since we never use our blog to advertise ourselves or announce new features (because we believe our readers want to learn more than hear our news), we use Mailchimp to send out our new feature releases, promotions, and our blog posts we write. It’s super easy to import your email lists, set up a template for your email campaign, and time your send outs by bulk or time zone. The email newsletters we send out is a great way to ensure that our customers know we are still working hard for them and communicating with them in mass what we’re up to. We will also segment lists by what plans our customers are so we can send out targeted promotions to them or get them back onto our site to see new developments we’ve released.Sales Tools – Lead Opportunity Stages:Vetting & QualifyingSetting the AppointmentFollowing Up or Closing CallVerbal AgreementClosed WonClosed LostDo not call list4) Rapportive is a Gmail plugin to vet who you’re communicating with and if they are a decision maker you need to close.Ever wonder when a lead comes in if they are just a random person in a company doing research or an actual decision maker? Rapportive is your key to determining who you’re speaking with and the kind of actions you need to take. It’s all super easy to find out as well. After installation, all you need to do is hover over the email address that emailed you and the sidebar of your Gmail will show you the full name, location, title, and social networks from the person you’re speaking with. With that information, you can change your tone/urge to set up a demo to close a deal quicker.5) Boomerang is a Gmail plugin to manage your email responses and remind you when to answer. When I open my gmail, I would typically have around 50 unread messages ranging from inquiries to leads belonging in all of the above ‘opportunity stages.’ My inbox can get overwhelming rather quickly and that is why I use multiple tools to nurture leads. It took awhile for me to get used to Boomerang because I’m such a Salesforce advocate but as soon as I applied the tool, I was able to cut down my workload by 2 ½ hours. At my last job, I was conditioned to log all my notes/emails to salesforce and create events, and tasks to remind me who to follow up and which leads need attention – these tedious steps would add 1-2 minutes/lead to my 60-100 lead/day routine. With Boomerang, I can efficiently work all my stages. Whether it’s to set an appointment, to send a summary & proposal, to follow up with a lead, or to set an automatic reminder… it is easy to set up with only 2-3 clicks all within my Gmail. Imagine what you would have to do if 7 clients all asked to follow up with them after 1 week during different parts of the week…I now have a tool that I can set emails to remind me to answer back in 2 days, or 12pm on Thursday afternoon; no more guessing games and no more leads falling through the cracks. 6) Cirrus Insight helps you keep Salesforce in sync with Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Contacts. When a lead completes a form on our website or emails us directly, we create an account on Cirrus Insight and convert the lead into an ‘opportunity.’ I use this add-on as much as I use Gmail. It made Salesforce easy to teach and keep up with. I no longer have to copy and paste everything into salesforce; I can simply ‘log a call’ through ‘activities’, set an appointment through ‘event’ and respond to emails using Salesforce templates through the ‘quick send and add’ plugin. I’ve watched Tim receive 50 emails (support & inquiry) and respond to all 50, log complete notes on sfdc and get tons of confirmed appointments before he goes to lunch at noon. The best part about this plugin is its ability to sync your google calendar and Salesforce calendar every 30 minutes.7) Yesware is an email productivity service for salespeople. If Boomerang and Cirrus insight had a child, it would be Yesware. I just installed Yesware this month and it has similar features like email management, and SFDC/Gmail synchronization. What I really like about Yesware is being able to send emails at later time. For instance Fridays are the worst follow up days because everyone is getting ready for the weekend. However, I also have a lot of time on Friday and so I’ll write my follow up emails and schedule them to be delivered on Monday at 8:30am, which will help me get seen first thing in the morning. Another feature I like about Yesware is there templates. Once my templates are setup, it takes 2 clicks to load them and send. With Cirrus Insight, I will need to click on the icon, then choose the template folder, then choose a template, then look for a contact, then look for an account and send. Yesware saves me another 2-3 minutes which I can substitute for my tea break.8) Salesforce is best known for it’s customer relationship management product.Salesforce help me keep track of all my leads, where they are in the decision making process, and help me generate reports on performance metrics. Salesforce is important because it will streamline all the information gathered about an account and a lead from beginning to end. If a lead has support issues, or unpaid balances, your marketing, sales, operations and account management teams should be able to get the full story just by looking at the Salesforce notes. If an account manager has to ask for more details from your salesperson about a client, this means notes are incomplete. Incomplete notes will create inefficiencies, miscommunication, wasted time and ultimately, money lost.Salesforce will also give management valuable insights to the type of employees in your company. It will help you find and gauge the A players from the B players. Most importantly if your data is clean, Salesforce will help you streamline, track retention rates, churns, lifetime value of a client and projections. My Salesforce calendar is synchronized with Cirrus Insight, which is connected to my Google Calendar. I also have my Gcal set up with text notifications to give me real time reminders on appointments. Salesforce help me nurture my pipeline and it help me forecast my numbers. A lot of the tools I’m suggesting can actually be customized through Salesforce however I found that the more apps you need within salesforce, the more fees are added. Also, my eyes don’t get burnt out looking at the same page all day and I appreciate the emotive variety of each tool. 9) Join.me, GoToMeeting or Skype – VOIP Conference Calls & Screen-sharingOnce I set an appointment, my go to screen sharing app is Free Screen Sharing and Online Meetings because it is easy to send and pretty to look at. My prospect doesn’t need to download a file like Skype or GoToMeeting, which is time consuming. They only need to take 3 steps:Click on the Free Screen Sharing and Online Meetings linkClick on the phone icon to connect via internetConnect a headsetSome client’s prefer GoToMeeting or Skype. I don’t like GoToMeeting because it feels archaic, it’s interface is bulky and sending an invite takes too much time. I don’t like Skype because I have to send an invite or wait for an invite to get connected which is inefficient. While Skype can’t do conference calls for free and half my calls are conference calls. Both these tools require an installation and a signup. 10) Stripe is a company that provides a way for individuals and businesses to accept payments over the Internet.Once a demo is complete, we expect to close the business within 1-14 days. I can use Stripe to create promo codes and track real time revenue. Not to mention managing (full or partial) refunds, recurring subscriptions, and custom payments. Tint also uses Stripe for self-service signups located on our pricing page: www.tintup.com/pricing. The Plus and Pro signups go through our stripe account. Our self serve page generates about more than half of our revenue every month.11) Zapier enables you to automate tasks between other online services (services like Salesforce, Basecamp, Gmail, Mailchimp, Olark, Hubspot and Stripe).I use this tool to synchronize Stripe with Salesforce so our self serve clients are also in our Salesforce database to keep track of all our customers. Zapier has hundreds of other recipes you can create that will make your life easier and save you time from connecting apps together (like send all Gmail emails into Evernote automatically). We always strive for clean data because they tell the best stories. We would love some suggestions or successful tools to help us consolidate and maintain clean data. Account Management Tools & Circling back to Lead Generation:Orientation CallHappy Client ProgramTint Support & Best PracticesSave Calls, Credit, Collection & InvoicingCase Studies, UpsellsWorking with brand advocates12) Ballpark for invoicing and referral programs.I typically use Ballpark to send invoices and accept payments. However, they also have referral programs that I think we should definately use and they released a feature with Stripe for credit card payments. It seems like they have tons of features that I have not used yet and so I will be downloading the Ballpark app to take advantage of all these awesome features.13) Trello is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. In one glance, Trello tells you what’s being worked on, who’s working on what, and where something is in a process.Trello is our drawing board, our to-do list; the board that keeps us accountable and innovative. Everyday we talk about urgent challenges, tasks we completed, and what we are working on. We are constantly looking for ways to improve, to strengthen our culture and our product. Trello helps us stay true to one of our core philosophy, “Transparency is key.” We are able to see what project each person is in charge of and what they have accomplished. We are able to work together closely and give feedback to improve on our methods, which I find incredibly valuable for a startup company. This is where you can put sales goals on individual cards so your team knows what you are aiming for and can give you feedback on your steps. You can read more here on how we organize our Trello.14) Intercom is your best friend for account management and talking with customers.Tint uses intercom for “Churn, Retention and Re-Engaging Customers.” One of our current challenges is to increase our monthly recurring revenue. And to reduce our churn, we want to make sure we talk with our customers so they know we’re here to help and are up to date with new features, blog posts, etc. Intercom makes this SUPER easy by allowing us to communicate with our customers when they are in the Tint app. This is smart because this is when they are focused on our app and willing to chat with us. We are still learning to use Intercom effectively to create strong relationships with visitors and customers alike through automated messaging to scale our touchpoint communications.Read more at our blog post here: http://www.tintup.com/blog/14-sales-tools-tint-used-to-signNow-1m-revenue-in-1-year/

Does negative mass go backwards in time?
Does negative mass go backward in time? No. Only antimatter is shown in Freymann diagrams as going backward in time. According to special relativity, the arrow of time goes uniformly forward in the rest frames of all particles. Length contraction and time dilation result from the constancy of the speed of light, when things are measured from frames that are not traveling with the particle. According to special relativity, negative mass must travel at faster than the speed of light. According to the Lorentz transformation, we would measure their time as going backward. But it is not going backward in their rest frame. Neutrinos have negative mass and travel (at least infinitesimally) faster than the speed of light. But we cannot see or measure them in flight because light cannot travel that fast. Like light, only the neutrino’s start and end points can be detected. For much more on faster than light, negative mass and neutrinos, please see the links, questions, and answers below that follow:How can there be higher speeds than the speed of light that do not contradict the theory of special relativity? How can there be higher speeds than the speed of light that do not contradict the theory of special relativity? Some results of special relativity are that: (1) particles with the positive mass that we are familiar with must travel at slower than the speed of light, particles with zero rest mass must travel at the speed of light, and (3) particles with negative mass must travel at faster than the speed of light. The latter does not “contradict” special relativity, or result in a “Lorentz violation.” Faster than light is a result and prediction of special relativity. For much more on faster than light, please see the links, questions, and answers that follow:If particles without mass can travel at the speed of light, could something with negative mass travel faster? If particles without mass can travel at the speed of light, could something with negative mass travel faster?Yes. In fact, you can replace the “can” and “could” and with “must.” According to special relativity, particles with zero (rest) mass must travel at the speed of light; and particles with negative (relativistic) mass must travel at (infinitesimally) faster than the speed of light. Also the positive (relativistic) mass particles we are familiar with must travel at less than the speed of light. So what has negative (relativistic) mass? Neutrinos have negative-real relativistic mass, and negative-imaginary rest mass. Neutrinos must travel (infinitesimally) faster than the speed of light, where their Lorentz factor is also negative-imaginary. Such particles can’t rest, and that is why the math is telling us that their rest mass is imaginary. For proof that neutrinos travel (infinitesimally) faster than the speed of light in a vacuum, please see the below link, questions, and answers that follow:Can neutrinos travel faster than the speed of light? Can neutrinos travel faster than the speed of light?Yes! And here’s the proof:A new observation proves that a neutrino was traveling at infinitesimally greater than the speed of light. It was published July 13, 2018, and calculated the speed of a single ultra-high-energy neutrino (E > 200 TeV, dubbed IceCube -170922A) captured by the South Pole IceCube neutrino detector, on September 22, 2017, to be precisely infinitesimally faster than the speed of light;”https://arxiv.org/pdf/1807.05155...The neutrino was emitted by a blazar (TXS 0506+056), ~ 4 x 10^9 light-years distant. The neutrino arrived about 10 days ahead of the light signatures, from the same event, arriving at telescopes around our planet Earth. Because of the phenomenally long baseline of “~ 4 x 10^9 ly” (light-years, over half the radius of our observable universe), the precision of this observation is unrivaled. It has “many orders of magnitude” greater precision and many orders of magnitude less probable error than any previous observations. This marks a milestone in the history of physics and astronomy. And you heard it first on Quora.I had previously compiled an answer to this question, but did not submit it, because of the hostility of the physics community to, “faster than the speed of light,” Now that my prediction has been confirmed, I submit it below:Yes! In fact, neutrinos must travel (infinitesimally) faster than the speed of light. I will prove this from their properties below. But first a word about the false conclusions of the CNGS2 (ICARUS) experiment. The purpose of that experiment was to prove the previous CNGS1 (OPERA) results wrong. This experiment failed to achieve this. The average speed measured by ICARUS was greater than the speed of light. These factswere meticulously covered up in the conclusions. The press was not even aware. They probably didn’t even read the paper, only the conclusions. When the average measured speed is greater than the speed of light, this cannot prove that it was less! Nothing was proved by this experiment, except that the speed was even closer to the speed of light. And being infinitesimally over is strong evidence that it cannot travel at less. The slight indication that it was greater than the speed of light was unfortunately overwhelmed by the probable errors. They were then totally overblown in the media as proving that it was less! This has convinced almost everybody, as demonstrated by the former 34 “No” answers on Quora. Almost all are based on that single experiment’s false conclusion. It is critically important for the progress of physics that the truth is brought to light. Now the damage is done. I am going to try to correct it. And hopefully, restore progress to physics. Why is this important? Because unexplained dark energy, dark matter, and recessional redshift energy, the dominant energies in our universe, among other things; cannot be satisfactorily explained without faster than c, negative gravity, negative relativistic mass, invisible, symmetric to positive mass neutrinos, that only interact through their gravity. Now for the proofs.Proof no. 1. Neutrinos never stand still (rest). According to the principle of relativity, if neutrinos traveled at less than c, there must be a reference frame, traveling at less than c, in which they stand still (rest). Since this never happens, neutrinos must travel at greater than c.Proof no. 2. Helicity is a state of particles that is referred to as right-handed helicity if the direction of its spin is the same as the direction of its motion; and left-handed helicity if the direction of its spin is opposite to the direction of its motion. The direction of spin is in the direction of the right thumb when the right fingers point in the direction of rotational motion. It is not Lorentz invariant. All observed neutrinos have left-handed helicity and all observed antineutrinos have right-handed helicity. All other particles (which travel at less than the speed of light in a vacuum, c) can have right or left-handed helicity. If a particle had one handedness helicity in one reference frame it would have the other handedness helicity in a reference frame exceeding the velocity of the particle in that direction. This is because in the latter frame the velocity of the particle would be reversed but the spin would not so that it would take on the other handedness helicity. Neutrinos in all reference frame velocities that we can travel at, always remain with left-handed helicity and antineutrinos always remain with right-handed helicity. If neutrinos traveled at less than the speed of light in a vacuum, c; there would have to be a reference frame with a velocity between that of the neutrino and the speed of light in a vacuum, c; in which neutrinos would have reversed velocity and therefore helicity. By the principle of relativity, the laws of physics are the same for all inertial frames of reference. Thus there can be no such frame.Einstein’s special theory of relativity does not predict that nothing can go faster than the speed of light in a vacuum, or that negative-imaginary rest mass is impossible, or that information cannot be transmitted faster than light, or that time cannot be viewed as traveling backward. These are some of the common misconceptions alluded to for dismissing theories and experiments on negative mass neutrinos. Now for the details on faster than c, negative gravity, negative relativistic mass, negative energy, invisible, symmetric to positive mass neutrinos, that only interact through their gravity; The postulates of Einstein’s special theory of relativity are: (1) The laws of physics are the same in all inertial frames of reference. (2) The speed of light in a vacuum has the same value c in all inertial frames of reference. These postulates lead to the Lorentz transformation and the Lorentz factor, γ ≡ 1/√[1 – (v/c)^2]. The Lorentz transformation, in turn, leads to all of the special relativity predictions. They predict: (1) Positive-real rest mass particles (ordinary matter) must travel at less than the speed of light in a vacuum. (2) Zero rest mass particles (light photons) must travel at the speed of light in a vacuum. (3) Particles that travel at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum (neutrinos) must have mathematically negative-imaginary rest mass. These latter particles, like light, can't rest. Because their Lorentz factor is also negative-imaginary, γ' = –i x >10^6, their product relativistic mass (m'γ'), is negative-real, as is their gravity. Due to their extreme velocity, negative-real relativistic mass neutrino particles are almost all energy. There is symmetry between ordinary particles that travel at less than the speed of light and neutrinos that travel at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum. I call it, “relativistic mass symmetry.”Relativistic mass symmetry is symmetry between positive matter and negative (yes, negative) matter. It is highly improbable that it could exist between positive masses. Ordinary matter, which we see, has positive-real relativistic masses (mγ), rest masses (m), Lorentz factors (γ), but negative Newtonian predicted gravitational accelerations [a = –mγ x (vector r/r)/(r^2)] because mγ is positive-real. Relativistic mass symmetry neutrinos are the hypothesized dark energy, cannot be seen, have negative relativistic masses (m'γ' = – mγ), negative-imaginary rest masses (m' = – mγ/γ') and Lorentz factors (γ' = –i x >10^6), but positive energies [E' = c^2|mγ'|], and positive Newtonian predicted gravitational accelerations [a' = –m'γ' x (vector r/r)/(r^2)] because m'γ' is negative-real and the double negatives become positive.I discovered, “relativistic mass symmetry” when investigating negative relativistic mass (m'γ') as a candidate for dark energy and found that neutrinos had its predicted properties. Relativistic mass symmetry not only predicts neutrinos and their properties, but also new additional neutrino-like particles. Here is the precise predicting equation for the neutrinos’ and predicted neutrino-like particles’ rest masses, in terms of their ordinary corresponding namesake particles’ rest masses:m' = – mγ/γ',where m' is the negative-imaginary rest mass of the neutrinos; m is the rest mass of the neutrinos’ corresponding namesake ordinary particle; γ is the Lorentz factor of the neutrinos’ corresponding namesake ordinary particle, which is normally essentially equal to one γ ≈ 1.0; and γ' is the neutrinos’ negative-imaginary Lorentz factor, which is always γ' = –i x >10^6. The resulting precisely predicted neutrinos’ rest masses are:Electron neutrino’s rest mass = –i x <0.511 eV/c^2,Muon neutrino’s rest mass = –i x <105.7 eV/c^2,Tau neutrino’s rest mass = –i x <1,777 eV/c^2.Antineutrinos’ predicted rest masses are the same. These predicted values are all somewhat less than their published upper limit values, calculated from their measured negative (yes, negative) mass squared (m'^2) values. The square root of a negative number is ± an imaginary (yes, imaginary) number. Currently observed electron neutrino’s masses are less than 1 eV and their energies are at least 1 MeV, so their Lorentz factors (γ’) calculated from the ratio <1 eV/>1 MeV = > 10^6 are: γ' ≡ 1/√[1 – (v'/c)^2] = –i x >10^6. The speeds |v'| of currently observed neutrinos can be precisely calculated from these Lorentz factors. They are in the range of: c < |v'| < (1 + 0.5 x 10^–12) c. The latest CNGS2 (ICARUS) measured average speed differential was: (|v'| – c) = (0.04 ± 0.28stat. ± 0.98syst.) x 10–6 c, which is faster (yes, faster) than the speed of light in a vacuum. Special relativity’s first postulate, the principle of relativity, indicates that multiple properties of neutrinos require travel at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum. (1) Because neutrinos never stand still in any of our reference frames that travel at less than the speed of light, and they have mass so that they cannot travel at the speed of light, they must travel at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum, where they can stand still in their reference frame. (2) If neutrinos traveled at less than the speed of light in a vacuum there would be reference frames in which they changed helicity handedness. But neutrinos all have left-handed helicity, they never change helicity handedness. (3) For the principle of relativity and “relativistic mass symmetry” to work between both electrons and their namesake electron neutrinos, one of them must travel at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum. The laws of physics work in their reference frames and in our reference frames. In their reference frames, we are the ones always traveling at greater than the speed of light in a vacuum.Dark energy is composed of these relativistic mass symmetry particles. On the other hand, dark matter, I have proposed, is a deficiency of these dark energy neutrinos. Having no dark matter particles reduces the required dark energy by a factor of 6.5. Our new frugal universe now contains three different types of rest mass: negative-imaginary, zero and positive; proportioned as follows: 67.7% dark energy, 31.8% light photons and ordinary matter. My revolutionary predictions are all solidly based on Einstein’s special theory of relativity and observational data. Since many neutrinos are already in the standard model of quantum mechanics, dark energy and dark matter are no longer unknown dark particles. Physics, astronomy, and cosmology are now solidly based on known and predicted quantum mechanical particles.
