hi there Jamie keyed here tonight at teachers tech hope everyone is having a great night tonight tonight I want to do a quick little video about using PDFs in your Google Drive and how to make them editable so one thing I really hate is when I have a PDF file and I have to whether or not print it off right out right on it then scan it again and then send it to someone I'm going to show you an app you can add to Google Drive that will allow you to fill out this PDF even put your signature on it and then email it or share it in a number of different ways so stay tuned as I go through this little quick video on doc hub with Google Drive so I'm in just one of my Google Doc accounts that I have here and you can see it's pretty empty this one I just got the one document a example PDF that I created in Google Docs I just saved it as a PDF to show you in this example so I'm gonna go ahead and just double click on this one it opens up and have a few options up top here you can see the open width right now I don't have da Cobb installed but I wanted to show you how to do that by connect with more apps here and I'll also show you at the end how to take it off if you don't want it in your Google Drive so just go ahead and type dock hub in here and it'll be the first one that comes up and I'm just going to hit connect here so dock hub is free for I believe it's five documents for months so if you're using it more than that then there's a subscription you might want to look at if you're using it quite a bit I'm just using the free version in this one so you can see now I have an option here open with dock hub here I'm just gonna go ahead and click on that and it's going to open up dock up here and it's just going to go through your basic than connecting with Google Drive and I'm just gonna allow it to connect with my account here and then it's gonna open up it's gonna say create a duplicate because I already opened this one up prior and that's why it did that one too so in this case here just got a few basic things that I put down on it so if I was gonna write something on it what I do this when I go up to my text tool and then I click it and I can draw a text box so if I was putting my name on this now I can simply click click on this box there so if I click on it you can see now I can drag this all around and line it up to where I want to and it you can get it pretty exact on it so that's what I like about this one you can change your size of your font also if you needed it to be a bit smaller you can always adjust it through there you can adjust your color on it and your alignment and your bold on all those options too so some of the other options that I like that it has on it if I go over to this stamp tool here if there was a need for a check box or something or an X you can see if I click the act the check mark I could put a check here but if I drop down it gives me a few more options here maybe I'll just put the I'll use the I'll put a star this one I'll put a star there and I do have the option of changing colors on these things too you can see that if I needed to do a whiteout tool I could comment tool to add on to it I could highlight if there was something if there was any text that I could put around on it by simply clicking on the X you can see when it the box comes up it does take the things away too another thing I like about this is the sign tool so if I click sign here you can see I kind of had a this is just a font signature that I'd already had it here before but if I wanted to create a signature I have some option where I can bring it in from my from my phone if I was drawing out of there I could draw it out on here I could upload an image if that would work better for you maybe you draw you write it down on a pen and then you then you take if you take a snapshot of it up and bring it and you can choose your file to bring it through here or you could just use the type and that was the one example that I just showed you on that first one before and then you can save it and then it'll just be there by default here so there's a few other things you can do it you can insert images in here - very simple - to use this program this app at the end when you're all done you have a few options of how you want to share this - so you can send you can share a link email the attachment sign request fax you can see you can make copies I'm not going to go through every one but there's lots of options here that if you need to download it again as that PDF and then you're gonna have it nice and nice and neat option here if you click on the Big D up top it brings you to the file you can see these are ones that I'd opened before in here so you can this is kind of the doc hub where things are going to be saved and like I said I believe under the free one you're allowed five documents per month on it so you can take a look if you do this as a free one then take a look at your settings and then you can see how much an upgrade you can see just by clicking on the upgrade and there is a 30-day trial on it too so I'm just going to close out of this dock up now and I was close out of this here - I didn't save it to this but what's let's say you didn't want that app on your Google Drive anymore what you do is go over to the settings up top here just click it and you can see there's manage apps here and here's this dock dock of which I installed I just go ahead and then you can go by disconnect from Drive and disconnect and then it's gone from it so then you can for example if I open it up again you can see it's gone from my list so I hope this app might be something that you could use if it is please give it a some thumbs up so and our share with a few other people I remember I do these weekly tech tips here at teachers tech so if you like Lisi please subscribe to my channel thanks for watching and I'll see you next time
