hey guys Mike here today got well video showing you how I set up a secure certificate a certification Authority CA for my Mac using OS 10s Mail app now you be able to use this with other mail applications other desktop mail applications but in this example I'll be using the mail app it'll just be a little bit different probably on how this is configured but in this example we'll just do this show on how it works so why do you want to do this there's kind of two reasons to do this first whenever you send an email to anybody on the email can be authenticated as coming from you so they'll know that it actually came from you it hasn't been tampered but what's really kind of cool button the real use for this is if you have someone else's CA someone else's public key you'll be able to send an encrypted message to them so the only person will be able to actually read this message is the other person and it'll be decrypted on their end using their own clients so we'll give you a little example here how this works first let's start out here in the keychain access this is showing you the login items and these are my certificates so these are the certificates that'll be unlocked when I log in to my computer we'll be adding one here for this and then whenever I encounter a certificate it shows up inside of this certificates window so like if I send an email to someone my certificate will appear in here and then they'll be able to send me an encrypted message once they set up their own for example so here's one thing I just want to mention is this a valid thing here so this certificate is valid this is a little weird I'm finding and I have a kind of a roundabout way of doing this and that's one way I found to find out that this certificate is valid I'm not too sure how big of a deal this is it's kind of annoying a little bit but if you receive something and it says it's not it can't be verified it's unverified you know if you know that they sent it to you you can go in and look and see that the email address matches up everything you can go in and tell it to to manually allow it so you can verify it manually so but the way we're going to do it we're going to have it so that it's valid right off the get-go and we'll show you how that works so there's different ways you can get a CA this one here is this komodo this is free so this is the one we'll be using really simple to set up there's other ones you can use through like Symantec and they have like a yearly fee twenty-five dollars or...
