I'm new to this and this is just a very basic one. In my experience I've only seen a few people use it and none have really made a big fuss out of it. If you're new to HTML, you may not be aware of the existence of this tag and what it does.
To start off, here's what I see and it's what most people do. I'm not going to explain the why's of why this tag exists because there's already plenty of documentation out there. This will be my guide as to how to use the tag.

How can i digitaly sign documents?
A: You will need to use Adobe Acrobat or Microsoft Word to make digital signatures.
1. Choose a form for your document:

4. Sign it using a scanner and email it to yourself:
You can download and print the signature and then print out a PDF of the signature on your device.
