hello everyone we're gonna go ahead and get started it's one o'clock um i want to thank you for attending the manpower virtual job fair event i'd like to introduce you to soledad she's going to tell you a little bit about their company some of the jobs that they're hiring for and how you can apply so i will pass it off to you thank you so yes so we have of uh quite a few openings right now most of the positions we have um available are here in elgin um we also do have um positions i leave in crystal lake as well if you're looking for that area um right now here in elgin we have entry level warehouse that would be first shift second shift third shift um the positions are anywhere from being an assembly tag to order picker um the starting pay is starting around thirteen dollars an hour and i have third shift positions paying up to fifteen fifty um a lot of these positions are also attempt to hire so you start temporary through us and then get hired on through the company that's um just an overall view about the positions we have do any anyone have a question about the positions or want a little bit more details um how could someone apply for these positions so you would apply online on our website which is ilmanpower.com and if anyone has any questions at any time you can unmute yourself or you can go ahead and type your questions into the chat and we can get those answered for you um could you go into a little bit more detail about what would be expected of a person in these positions um yes so a lot of because they are entry-level warehouse positions you don't need any previous experience um some of the one of the biggest companies that we're working with that has a lot of openings they deal with electronics so the work environment itself is very clean um like i said you don't need any previous experience you do receive training um i have another company that's has order picker positions um they're a vitamin and supplement distribution center so again it's another clean environment and not really a lot of experience just maybe a little basic computer knowledge would these people be required to have either a ged or a high school diploma or a driver's license or any other requirements like that no and do you know anything about the background checks that they would be performing i do know that they all require a clear background i have one employ employer that requires a clean background for the last 10 years the other one is for the last seven years and how long does a hiring process normally take from when they would start on your website to start working i would say about a day or two the way that the hiring process um looks like so you'll fill out an application online um after you complete your online application um myself or one of the other recruiters will give you a call we'll conduct um if you're able to do like a zoom call we'll be able to assume video chat if now we can also do um more of an in-depth phone interview after that is completed we do have you complete text paperwork like i-9 forms online from home um and the next step would be to bring you into our office for physical paperwork that's needed to be filled out as well as um any drug test that is required um after that is completed then that's when you're looking at getting started and could you just do a brief overview one more time of the positions that you're looking for just for people who joined a little bit late yes so we have um entry-level warehouse positions right now we are looking for assembly tax um order pickers as well we have um first second third shift i did forget to mention that uh we do have a company that's also doing weekend shifts so just saturday and sunday um the pay for first shift is thirteen dollars uh second shift is paying 13.50 and then i have third shift paying 15.50 um and these are attempt to hire positions and where are most of the jobs located they are here in elgin um i do have another company that we work with in crystal lake so not too very i'm not very familiar with their um openings but i know that they most likely will have like second shift and are these full-time or part-time positions these are all full-time except for that uh weekend position that would be a part-time just weekends and uh do you know what the work attire that's required is yes um it is general warehouse so you know jeans t-shirt um regular gym shoes are fine they don't require steel-toed shoes for the positions we have here in elgin and what type of benefits are offered with these positions um one of the biggest benefit like i mentioned it's attempt to hire so um like i said you start temporary through us get hired on company would offer like health benefits um paid time off um i know that they are very busy right now so they are offering overtime um too um this uh one company that i know of here in elgin is also offering a referral bonus um i don't know all the full details about it but i know um they they do have that in place and do you know how these employers are handling the um covid situation for safety precautions in the workplace yes um the one of the companies is doing um temperature checks um at the door um they are all requiring a face mask um they will provide them if they do not have a face mask um i know for the order picker positions gloves are also um required and they provide them there um so we have a question in the chat that says since this is a warehouse position are there any requirements such as able to lift 25 kilograms or any other uh lifting requirements most of the positions that we have right now are very i would say light positions i would say the maximum probably would be 25 pounds if that um like i said the assembly tack position um i can go a little bit more into detail in that they're basically doing repairs on credit card machines um so it's just the ability to be able to use small hand tools uh to make those repairs the order picker position you're literally picking items such as like vitamins other supplements and putting them in a box getting them ready for shipment putting them in a conveyor belt and um do you know if these employers allow employees to have holidays off or could you speak to any of the time off things that they have don't um i the one i know of for the order picker they do not have holidays off um days off um in the past with employees that i've worked with as long as you're able to you can talk to your supervisor about requesting a day off and they will permit it um it would be an unpaid though all right and for those of you who joined a little late um if you do have any questions you can unmute yourself or you can type them into the chat and we'll get those answered for you um and are you paid for the time that you're being trained in these positions yes you are paid um you will start um typically training um would take will take about a week or so and is there any type of orientation that's mandatory that they would have to be present for within the first certain amount of time they're working there um for the order picker position um that they do require they call it sort of like a safety orientation it's really just taking a safety quiz and that's part of the hiring process when they come into our office um fill out physical paperwork and then um take a drug test at that same time you would also be taking that safety quiz that is required all right that is all the questions that we had in the chat so far um so what i am gonna do i did put the um link to the need to have to find on the manpower website um you actually do not when you apply when you go into our website you don't apply for a specific position you just provide a application but it's not for a specific position um once we conduct that virtual interview whether it's we assume um or either a phone interview that's when we go more into depth into what exactly you're looking for um if it's more of an order picker position more of an assembly tech or whatever the case is and how would you recommend that they reach out to you or someone from your company if they have any additional
