are some work and some play the last two mondays in the last two videos if you haven't seen them already go back and watch them because there is no tips and tricks on there about how I come up with my promotions or how I've done that so far being a new business and then also the other one I talked about getting an accountant and just things like that so there's little business II related stuff trickled in throughout the video today is also Monday and I actually have more of a chill Monday today I am pretty much caught up on a lot of business e things I do have one thing that I need to get taken care of and that is the self-employed QuickBooks app that I use somehow the business account that I have linked to it has stopped updating my transactions so I've already contacted them and I to redo like I need to add the account again and it should update everything so I can go back and continue adding receipts on there which I will talk more a little bit about that later in the video and how and why I use that you need to finish getting ready I already throw in a little bit of makeup I need to curl my hair a little bit I'm gonna meet one of my girlfriends for lunch today and then I am going to get a pedicure done so hang in there we will talk about the QuickBooks app that I used in a little bit but let's go ahead and curl my hair I thought while I was doing that I would share a little bit more about me and some of the things going on so yeah let's get into it so like I said I'd already put on some makeup and buy some makeup I mean just you know whatever was left over on my brushes from the last time I made you guys I'm just gonna put on a little bit more than that I'm gonna let that heat up this is my bathroom one day it'll be really cute we want to take out our entire this is like a shower/tub combo we want to take this out and just tile in a walk-in shower have plans to paint in here yeah one day this will look cute so let me just give you a little quick backstory my husband and I got married in April 2018 we bought this house in October 2018 and then I quit my job in February of 2019 so kind of a crazy whirlwind first year of marriage for us but it's been really great to enjoyed it four-bedroom house it's a split floor plan so one side has the master and the other side has all the other bedrooms it's a lot of house for just the two of us we lived in a one-bedroom apartment for two years and that was like perfect for us so moving into a bigger place like this is kind of crazy but we were really fortunate to have my sister and her fiance and their son so my little nephew move in with us in December 2018 cuz of them moving in I was like this is now or never to start my business since they aren't here and be that buffer financially of course I we all split everything so it's not like I don't pay for anything I will split everything equally it's all kind of happened really fast for us like I said I'm really happy that I was able to start this business and my sister was able to move in with us and be that help as well so I know a lot of people don't have that and I'm sure I still would have opened my own business we would have just been a little bit more strapped if you know what I mean possible people did all the time but I'm really thankful for them [Music] so one thing that some of you guys might not know is that I grew up dancing and I now teach dance so I actually start my classes this coming week on Wednesday I only teach one night a week these days just because especially with the business I'm just busy and that's a lot it really does take a lot out of you to be a dance teacher it's a lot of time outside the dance studio as well coming up with choreography thinking of ideas of different exciting things to do with your classes every week so I teach five to seven-year-olds mainly right now I love that age group for a couple years I was teaching older kids and I loved doing that too every now and again but I just really loved five to seven year olds they just loved you you know they say the funniest things sometimes because they just don't really have that filter and it's just really funny sometimes so I really like teaching them they're always really excited to come to dance class and have some fun so [Music] I wanted to go over the QuickBooks self-employed app that I use I use it to manage my business account transactions can link a receipt to that specific transaction so you don't have to hold on to a stack of receipts that you might have like I had just a ton backed up right now because like I said earlier the account for whatever reason stopped updating and I am backed up so I when I contacted the company they told me that I had to redo like add my account again as a new account to see if that helps update it so I'm gonna do that really quick but you know if that works so I have quite a bit of receipts you than I need to add on but doing this just kind of helps eliminate the stack of receipts to hold on to and keep track of throughout the year for tax purposes it also tracks your mileage on the app as well so you don't have to manually type in where you're driving so to and from work and then also like to and from your stores that you might get supplies from it tracks all that and then you just go through and just like review village and the address where you went and you just swipe it for business or swipe it for personal and that's really simple and easy to do and whenever I have downtime take a second and just swipe and review those mileage transactions and as well as the receipt transactions too so yeah like I said I'm gonna go on to my app right now and try to re add the account and see if that updates things for me so I can get some of these receipts taken care of okay so I've been emailing with the QuickBooks system that's been helping me with this and I just emailed her now letting her know that I was still not able to reconnect my business account so not sure if I need to call my bank at this point or what so yeah I'll give you like it's time to head on over to lunch with my friend hopefully I'll hear back from the person who from the person that's helping me with the QuickBooks account soon so that I can get that figured out I'm wearing my wax room shirt repping out oh my gosh something that hair like scratched my eye or something so yeah we're repping the merch the merch so yeah we are wrapping the business while we're out and about today and yeah so I will see you guys at lunch we just got done with lunch and it was really good I was going vlogger food and stuff but um we just hadn't seen each other in so long so we were just like chatting the entire time I went to the Cheesecake Factory and I grabbed my husband a cheesecake which I didn't really think that through because I was just gonna go walk around HomeGoods a little bit and then go to my nail appointment but it's like a hundred degrees here so yeah it's 105 degrees so I don't want it to melt so I'm gonna have to run home and throw it into the fridge and then dress back over to this side of town so it's fine but I wanted to surprise him with hallelujah I finally got my account to update and be correct it took me a minute I don't know is my I think it was my bank account just like waking out like it wasn't recognizing my username or password even on my bank site at all and I knew that I was doing it correctly like I went so slow and everything that I was typing in was correct so I ended up just calling my bank and just resetting my password and it all worked it updated my QuickBooks account so now I have like 30-something transactions to get caught up on so I'm gonna do that right now I use QuickBooks to just keep all my finances and order tracks how much I'm making and how much I'm spending on materials and supplies basically it just makes you knowledgeable on how much money you're making and what you're spending on your materials and supplies as well so you can get an accurate number on how much you're bringing in and taking home with you so yeah it's been helpful in that way like you've seen in the previous videos I did get an accounted which I'm hoping that I'll hear from him this week on any like further steps that we need to do but yeah I think that's all so hey guys so it's actually the next day now and it's kind of a little bit later in the day but I filmed an outro for the video yesterday for vlogging and it just was garbage it was just not good I got really tired towards the end of the day which I feel like might not sound valid because I really didn't do to me and the videos and the clips that I video didn't seem like I did much yesterday but I promise you I did I really hustle hard on my business Tuesday through Saturday I like get in here and I bust my butt all week long for those five days and then I really like disconnect Sunday Monday and I think on Mondays too it just kind of like at least yesterday Monday it just like hit me how hard I've been working and I just was like super tired towards the end of the day so also I didn't feel like it was a video without coming to my
