love to help you without further ado let's get into the top 10 biggest employers of the raleigh-durham county so I'm going up a list of over 50 employers in the area with at least two to 40,000 employees I chose an array of different industries to highlight and show you guys how truly diverse the economy here is in the Triangle this isn't in any particular order of biggest to smallest or most revenue to least revenue it's just a list that I compiled together and honestly I could make probably 10 of these videos and I wouldn't even scratch the surface to the amount of employee employers in the Triangle area I'm going to be going through them pretty quickly for the sake of the video just to give you guys a quick idea of a couple of the companies if you want to learn more information a quick google search and you'll be able to find any more information or you bill to find out ways that you can apply for these jobs so starting off with number 10 Duke University and Duke Health Duke University is located in Durham but Duke Health has locations scattered throughout the county with over 40,000 employees they have jobs ranging everywhere from biochemistry to a police officer sports team coaches lab techs administration and the list goes on coming in at number nine the state of North Carolina Raleigh's the capital of North Carolina and has a very high population of state employees with over 24,000 of them these jobs include accounting addiction specialists therapists attorneys banking business analysts and the list goes on working for the state can have a lot of include cyber security communications software development they do a lot of site contracting with Microsoft as well coming in at number seven Martin Marietta and I hope I'm saying that right but it's a supplier of heavy building materials such as roads sidewalks foundations with only eight thousand employees their annual revenue is upwards of three point eight billion dollars number six progress energy headquartered in Raleigh and has over 11,000 employees they service over 3.1 million customers throughout the Carolinas in Florida coming in at number five PRA Health Sciences this is a contract research organization with over 16,000 employees they work on a lot of merging of technology and the healthcare system and the relationships between doctors and patients coming in at number four safety clean systems with a que another key player in the energy industry offers environmental products and services waste management recycling oil refining and has over forty five hundred employees with an annual revenue of one billion number three fidelity investments one of the largest asset managers in the world operates a brokerage firm online bank manages mutual funds index funds and even provides life insurance number two North Carolina State University is the largest university in the Carolinas with over nine thousand full-time faculty and over 35,000 students North Carolina State University is known for its engineering statistics agriculture and life science programs and number one red hat it's a multinational software company based out of Raleigh provides open source
