(12/12/14) I would suggest this. If your trackpad is on your computer, then go in your "start menu" and select "Control Panel". Next, select "Mouse" from the drop-down menu (this is the one that says "Add/Remove Device"). Then select your trackpad. You should see: "Sign on". You'll be asked to sign on with your Microsoft account credentials, or the one you created for your Google account, or any other account you wish to connect to your Chromebook.
