we have thomas barr that is going to talk and i'm sorry thomas i always want to call you tom but you always sign your emails thomas so i always end up backspacing and writing in thomas so um thomas is part of local first and as long as i've been a member he's been emailing me so i'm super excited to have him on and they had a series a couple weeks ago regarding um spend your money where you're um for social justice and so i thought it would be great since environmental justice social justice and so on are near and dear topics to our green and sustainable hearts i thought it'd be great to have local first um discuss that and then after that we can talk with mike peel about scale up and what scale up is so thomas take it away awesome thanks so much jen um happy to be here nice to meet all of you and see some of you again um like jen said my name is thomas i'm the executive director of our business development at local first arizona i've been with the organization for eight years we have as likely most of you know around three thousand businesses we represent across arizona providing resources to um and mike on our team is here today who is our sustainability director leading all of our statewide initiatives um working with green businesses and um environmental sustainability initiatives so really happy to be here today to talk to you a little bit about our movie or money initiatives at local first arizona and how related that is um to environmental work um and jen i wondered if i could share a video to start i'm gonna try to share my screen and see if it works you should be able to everybody should be able to share okay right out give me one second is it okay or is it giving you a problem no i got it coming up right now awesome okay so to just kind of set the tone for what i wanted to talk about today we actually had a video made that surrounded our entire movie your money campaign so i wanted to start by showing that to all of you this evening so here we go financial systems are broken why for a long time now we have trusted too much of our money to a handful of really big banks banks that have only grown larger since the 2008 financial basis looks like we had some playback issues sorry about that try one more time it'll catch up these banks hold power over our communities through the large amounts of money we have deposited in arizona we've deposited 88.5 billion dollars of our money into just three banks these big banks then decide who among it well you know what because get to borrow money and instead of reinvesting in arizona they take our money and invest it far away this is money that is needed to grow our communities and small businesses small entrepreneurs are essential for creating diverse wealth family wealth and generational wealth without access to money entire communities can become trapped in poverty is there a better way yes community banks and credit unions are examples of good community partners these local financial institutions are chartered here in arizona and they invest in and lend in our communities which allows our families to grow financially the big banks keep gaining power because we continue to feed them our deposits yet they continue to practice unethical and biased lending practices like redlining where they restrict lending money in certain areas because of the ethnicity of a community this is immoral and criminal and we can't continue to support them with our savings accounts checking accounts or government accounts move your money to a credit union or community bank so you can rest assured knowing your money is at work building a better arizona the more we band together and move our money the more powerful our community banks and credit unions will become minimizing the impact of big banks stand up for arizona by keeping your money close to home cool uh sorry for the few connectivity issues there but um yeah so that's just kind of a an introduction to uh the movie money campaign that we just completed running which was the last week of july um and so i'll take maybe eight to ten minutes here to talk a little bit about um the stats and figures and and um information that we've utilized at local first arizona to run this campaign and why we think it's really important that as entrepreneurs and social activists and community leaders it's really important that we prioritize where we bank and where we influence others to bank as well and how the a lot of the systemic issues that we see within racial inequality but also in environmental justice um lies within the institutions that we deposit our money with and then what they turn around and they do with that money and a lot of you are probably aware of this being involved in environmental sustainability and green efforts but local first arizona has taken a really proactive stance excuse me um on these issues over the last several years as we've found that a lot of arizona money is actually deposited into out-of-state institutions um and we became really proactive in this movement in 2013 when we looked up the fdic numbers for arizona to see if there was any correlation with the fact that arizona was the last state in the country to reach pre-recession economic levels and if there's a correlation between that and the number of community banks that we have in our state we actually only have 13 community banks in arizona that is down from 15 in 2013 when we looked at those numbers and you know for comparison texas has over 400 community banks north dakota has over 600 community banks so there's this isn't something that's actually common um in a lot of other spaces and places across the country there's actually a wide number of community banks on the east coast it's actually pretty regular thing to have such uh broad options of where you might bank or you might keep your money um so in arizona we're in a really unique situation where we actually don't have a lot of financial options locally so if you think about the perspective of this is that at that time when we looked at the statistics of 97 percent of our dollars being deposited into out of state financial institutions 75 of that 97 pool was put into three banks bank of america chase and wells fargo and if you dig into you know what those banks are investing in what those banks are doing with the dollars that are being fed to them they are directly turning around and they are investing in private prisons and they've invested in coal and oil they've invested in pipelines wells fargo was the bank that invested in the keystone pipeline um that i know most of us probably know about and so if you're someone that cares about racial justice if you're someone that cares about environmental sustainability if you're somebody that cares about small businesses and their well-being um if you are advocating for those issues but your dollars are sitting with an institution that is using your dollars for values and initiatives that are contrary to what you believe in um there's a very stark difference there right and so what we do at local first arizona is not to cast blame um but to raise up and elevate yourself about any of these lines and dissect them more and more whether that's looking at racial inequality and how the banks have for decades disproportionately left out black and brown communities from lending for home ownership opportunities and as we've seen climate um and and all of these issues be of utmost importance for us as community leaders to address the big banks have continued to invest in things that are actually negative for the environment um and so over the years over the past seven years uh local first has increased these efforts and gotten a lot more active about them we're really excited to see that in 2019 after running the campaign for six years we found numbers reported from the fdic that rather than that three percent statistic of deposits being put into local local banks we actually were at nine percent so in july of 2019 we had helped contribute to a six percent market shift in local deposits in arizona that is just huge a huge huge number to be really proud of now note that they only report those numbers once a year so that was july 31st 2019 and if you think back over the last five months of everything we've been reckoning with as a country i'm sure all of you saw you know the exposure of how small businesses were being treated by the large banks when they were going to apply for ppp loans you know a lot of the issues with big banks were really exposed in a time of crisis um and how they were being treated it was the community banks and credit unions that stepped up and worked nights and weekends trying to process as many loans as they could because that's what they do um and you know as we continue to see um uh as our country should reckon with years and years of racial injustice it's important for us to have conversations about if you care about racial injustice you need to be putting your money into institutions that are not investing in private prisons which disproportionately um hold more black and brown people within them so it's really important um as us as an organization to look at those things um and advocate and educate people about them um i talked to one bank uh about a month ago that just in the month of april saw an increase and they're actually so with the 13 banks um those you know 13 banks only hold nine percent of arizona deposits there's one of those banks that holds four percent so the 12 other banks only hold five percent of the money so pretty small in comparison to you know all deposits and that bank alone saw an increase of 35 million dollars in new deposits from businesses moving their accounts to them just in the month of april um so we're seeing a rise in um interest in people actually moving their dollars to local banks and credit unions um and it's it's not just important for us to um to do that but also to build relationships with those institutions to make sure that they're progressing with these initiatives as well that they are investing in local initiatives that are focused on um environmental sustainability and small business development um so that it's not just them gaining our money but they're actually turning around and doing proactive things that we care about in the community so it's important for us to to stay proactive about what they're doing with it um and that's what local first is here to do that's that's what we think is really important um another thing that i'll just mention is you know we might hear it's better for small businesses if we have more community banks or community banks are receiving more deposits um and that's an easy statement to say but to dig a little deeper into that the reason we know that is not just because we know that community banks will go the extra step to create a relationship with the business we know that they will do that we know that they are on the ground here right they have people in the community that will get to know businesses they know the climate um when a business walks into community bank it's it their application for a loan is being sent to a high-rise building in another state where underwriters just checking off boxes maybe approving them or not um what's actually happening is that those three big banks chase wells fargo b of a their average loan sizes for small businesses are between 2.5 to 3 million dollars and if you're a small business most small businesses don't need those high of loans some of them do as they you know start to grow and really evolve but most small businesses are looking for loans somewhere in between 50 000 to maybe 300 350 000 so as you can imagine or as some of you probably know as small business owners if you're going to get a loan from one of those big banks and you are just a number um and you know what you're looking for is 10 or under of what their average one size is the opportunity for you to receive a loan is completely just diminished so the the more that of the assets the more that we can build up the community banks the more that we know that they are going to actually loan out to small businesses within um our own communities that's why we think it's really really important for us to raise these issues so i didn't want to spend the whole time talking but i did just want to build some context around that work that we do and why we think it's important and why we continue to advocate for it but would happy be happy to answer any questions or dig into anything that's of interest if anybody uh would like to share so mark rosalind asked if you can put a link in for the video that put a link in the chat for the video that you showed that would be great and then just to reiterate what you said i applied for my ppp from both bank of america and enterprise bank and i still have never heard from enter from bank of america and so i moved all of my money to enterprise bank for my small business so yeah probably a true statement i know the bank manager um and i walk into the when i walk into the bank they everybody says hi jennifer it's really really nice to know that i can call somebody and they know exactly who i am and what i'm doing so thank you very much i appreciate that anybody else have any questions nothing you want to stump thomas with thomas are you allowed to say which bank has five per ent of the money uh yeah and it's about four percent it's alliance bank of arizona that's what i thought yeah and you can actually i mean this is public information so if you go to the fdic's website they're the institution that oversees all the banks um they have reporting on every state and you can download reports on how much how many assets each each bank has and so the next report should come out in september for through july 2020. brian did you have something yeah thanks uh a question and a comment a question i guess you're answering it's sort of there but where do i get a list of banks that are community banks in arizona yeah i'll drop a link in here um we've got our website um local4cc.com move your money it's got all the information articles about a lot of the things that i'm talking about um to read more but also there's a link that says find a local bank or remove your money you can actually take a pledge to move your money and you can find all of the banks and credit unions that are part of local first that are in your region it doesn't represent every credit union or or every actually every bank in the state just those that we have relationships with but there's i believe 16 on there and there's a wide variety that give you a lot of great options okay the commenter too i had it was a really interesting presentation i had not ever heard of this before and it's uh it makes a whole lot of sense uh to be sustainable your money shouldn't leave the state either so what i was thinking though is uh i've met jamie dimon before and i don't know why i trust him so much but it's uh i but i do with a lot of my money but it's uh i was thinking as you were talking that uh i have a lot of friends and family in california where i was born and raised and i think a lot of them would rather have their money in an arizona bank than in a new york bank but then again if you're going to do community they'd go orange county or l.a county rather than arizona but you know moving money around like this that's a what was the figure 80.5 billion um yeah it was about 84 billion yeah something like that yeah that's amazing yeah huge number how long has this been going on you mentioned it uh have you actually seen any new funding ability maybe in real estate or other parts of the industries where funding is more available now in arizona because of this um so each bank has kind of their own um focus i guess you would say on um where they um are typically centered around investing in um we know that um you know the the general industries of of real estate and things like that are typically a lot of the relationships that the banks need in order to serve small businesses that are growing for example we had a hair cutting place called keep it cut in phoenix that just expanded they've got seven locations throughout greater phoenix now they're funded 100 through a local bank um and so we're able to kind of establish some of those relationships in order to make sure that small businesses as they look to expand or look for new space um have both the developer bank accounting all those multi-faceted relationships make it successful um but as far as details about specific industries and things like that i don't necessarily have specific data on that thank you yeah i know thomas you have to leave in a couple of minutes so anybody have any last questions he's got another meeting he's got to go to i just want a second jennifer's statement of i bank with alliance bank and i got a ppe through alliance bank and um it was a pleasant experience and i had some other friends that had banked with big banks and they weren't able to get money and they actually moved their they moved um banks to other and they moved their banking to other banks during the process yeah that's fantastic i never thought about it before until i did the ppp thing but honestly i had had half my money like bank of america and half of it in enterprise because i was trying them out and i will never go back i have a question um so you mentioned that 97 of the money goes out of arizona was that correct that was in 2013 um 2013. okay yeah it was 91.25 percent in july of 2019 we um we guessed that that number is under 90 right now okay the nice thing to know is that we have a lot more business now than we did in 2013. that number is even bigger for local banks that's nice i'm sorry victoria did i cut you off and i'm to ask another question no no i was just commenting on it thank you jennifer all right then anybody else have any questions going once going twice thomas you are free to go to your other meetings thank you so very much for participating and being an awesome local first partner and um advocate for all of us small businesses thanks so much for having me and um good luck mike with the next piece thanks everybody we're such a rough crowd mike you may not survive yeah thanks have a great night good night thanks thomas so next we have mike peel um with also with local first arizona and mike if you want to do a little bit of introduction on yourself he is responsible for sustainability for the state of arizona or local first and he is my leader in scale up and i'm super excited he makes me think of all different kinds of things that i can that i thought i was doing a really good job in sustainability but there's a few areas i'm going well maybe i'm not doing such a great job in sustainability and maybe i can bolster those areas so thank you and mike welcome thank you for the introduction i'm so glad you're part of scale up and we're learning a lot together i think it's a journey we call it with the planning program we have so i'll start with an intro and then can i share slides is there an opportunity for me to share a few slides absolutely go ahead and everybody can share slides if they'd like to oh i will do that so i'm mike peel i'm the statewide sustainability director for local first arizona i'm really glad to be here tonight to talk to you all and to be getting uh information to you about the programs that we have running we want to talk particularly i think jennifer and i wanted you to know about scale up but we have a number of other programs that we can connect with you on and i'm a proud arizona native uh from tucson i serve statewide and i love the work of local first arizona for all the reasons you've already heard from thomas and the work we're doing to strengthen local businesses right now through what we call the triage to recovery to resiliency pathway uh to get through this crisis together so i want to also uh highlight that i am a big fan of the uh work being done with the green chamber i've been following what you're all doing and i think it's uh really really important to be networking like this in these times and figuring out ideas together so uh shout out also to dory and her work with green living magazine big fan of the work there as well so i'm going to get right into some slides i think jennifer you had mentioned about 20 minutes inc including q a right great i can move quickly and if you have any questions as i go let me know all right i'm going to share now and if anybody wants to copy the chat while we're going through this just put those three little dots on the right hand side of the chat and it will copy it to your copy of your your desktop all right so for those of you who don't know about our local first arizona sustainability initiatives and programs our whole goal with this work is to make our state more sustainable help our members to be more sustainable we're about reducing operating costs by saving on utilities through these programs that includes energy and water and waste and carbon emissions or about education throughout the state as you know about our reach uh over 3000 members we're doing a lot with education to get the word out not just to our businesses but to the patrons out there the employees and ultimately preparing for a changing climate and a better future so scale up is our program that's our award-winning program now it's been running for a few years we've just gotten it off the ground to be virtual that's our first cohort that jennifer has joined two weeks ago we just got going and it's meant to be a seven-week workshop series for getting a project up and running so we work with the businesses that go going through the program to get a plan together that will focus on not just the uh the plan itself but also getting access to low interest financing other incentives as well and then getting that project implemented all together through this network that we're building and scale up stands for sustainable communities accessing lending and education upon performance so the first cohort that we had available uh for the program uh this was a pilot program that we got running with this support of the state of arizona two years ago and through the pilot we were able to enroll it was starting in tucson and now it's statewide we got the community food bank of southern arizona enrolled in a catering and venue business we had a fourth avenue business enrolled a brewing company hopefully you all know about borderlands and tucson they're getting more and more unknown uh ignoring glass school wholesome harvest group surged regionally surly wench pub merit foods which serve statewide tucson thrift shop the glue factory print shop and lead local so an example of what we did with this planning program the delectables catering and venue was focused on reducing their heating and cooling needed to have a more comfortable space for their beautiful venue in reducing utility costs particularly water and energy and increasing awareness to their property needs through the checklists that we've created through the program we have different modules that we run through and including understanding what the cost savings are and benchmarking the facility to know where the facility's at or where the space is at so that there can be improvements made and tracking on a regular basis not just for the cost savings but of course for the climate impact as well in a positive direction for the carbon emissions reductions and you can see donna's quote here about the program a success story that i also like to highlight is the collaboration that occurs in the cohorts so we've had to go virtual and we're still focused on cohorts but it's all done virtually at this point and when we were doing this work before we were at the u of a in one of their green actually their greenest building the enr2 building and that allowed for a lot of conversation to happen between the participants in the program so uh pop cycle introduced sonoran glass school to one of their artists at their uh artist collective shop and the snoring glasgow got to connect with the bottle rocket bottle rocket creates products out of recycled glass including countertops planters candles pet bowls and knowing that sonoran glasgow was able to provide excess glass pop cycle connected the two so that over 100 pounds of glass a week could be put to use for these concrete products so as an example of how the connection between the circular economy can happen on any regular basis and i think sustainability is part of that equation it's about economic sustainability and environmental sustainability so we want to see more of these opportunities come out of the program and we're already seeing it take shape on a regular basis from the businesses that have already gone through the program so scale up 2020 is focused on four cohorts right now uh it's going into 21. we have quarterly cohorts running with a flipped classroom approach we've had to evolve here there are videos to watch ahead of time from our experts who teach on the different modules we have readings and homework at home when an hour of virtual discussion each week based on the videos that's why it's a flipped classroom approach and then the goal of every plan that's put together for the participants in the program by the end of the series they have one or more actionable projects that lead to at least a 20 reduction in one year with the carbon emissions or energy efficiency or water conservation or transportation reductions or waste reductions we want to see at least a 20 reduction in one area and an opportunity to connect to greater benefits over time as we are shaping additional incentives and the financing for these projects so why we do this which to learn from each other like i've mentioned already it's to take action and collaborate with other like-minded businesses it's to plan and have an equity component as well and also save money so we want it to be about community-based projects that provide more uh opportunities for again collaboration like i mentioned but also for the opportunity to save money and finance those projects as well through the low interest revolving loan fund that we have that's now expanding statewide to be a revolving loan fund with the lowest interest rates available for these projects i'll talk about that more in a moment it's also about implementing projects to get recognition through our network and gain extra benefits for the successful reduction in energy water waste and transportation emissions and or and also to get recognized through our social media promotions and recommendations uh for businesses through our channels we have a number of ways to not just uh recognize through the program but also recognize through our network and and you've heard about that already through our reach but it in addition uh rebuild with an emphasis on equity and sustainability to attract customers and engage employees and we know how important that is in these times so the structure of the program you see right here is uh focused on a week-to-week module approach we start with the benchmarking training to know how to utilize energy star portfolio manager through the epa we go into the principles of environmental justice and resiliency and disaster planning we get into green teams and employee engagement policy and communication to attract new customers renewable energy and building efficiency with the energy module water efficiency and sustainable landscaping with the water module electric vehicles and alternative transportation through the transportation module and then with waste module looking at waste management and zero waste practices as well as sustainable procurement including chemicals and food and then we recap it all and the plans are unveiled for what the projects are going to be and we learn from each other along the way so who can apply any local first arizona member in the tucson phoenix metro area we have combined the cohorts now so we're learning statewide from each other there's no need to run one in phoenix or tucson we found we can get the benefit of being a statewide network here by being virtual and the participant must rent or own their facility home-based businesses are not currently eligible because we work through the energy star portfolio manager platform which is focused on commercial facilities or sites and then and the initial project must address both uh sustainability and resiliency and then we have our introductory certification programs that are recommended we have our presentation business certification program available in phoenix and then we have our southern arizona green business leaders program that's a 65-point checklist to uh to check on different strategies that you may already be implementing and get recognized for or new ideas that you might consider to bundle together as one project to plan through our uh our framework of scale up and then the track that's the key it's the track performance at the end of the project period we want to know that you have a plan in place for tracking on a regular basis and then uh commitment to participate in the entire scale up series and to follow up on the project progress once you've got that initial plan for the project scoped here's the investment at the base rate the large business rate in the discount rate jennifer can i send these slides out to you absolutely absolutely yeah absolutely i know i want to keep it on time so there's time for questions i'll note there's a discount for completing one of the certification programs and as a non-profit there's an additional discount there's also the reen community fund that we're expanding statewide now and there are two uh tracks for the financing that we currently have available and that's expanding as well in the next few months here to be even larger loans right now there's a kiva lending option for social underwriting between one thousand to fifteen thousand dollars for the projects at a zero percent interest rate and at a term of one to three years or there's the traditional loan uh that is higher and it's a 500 to or a higher in terms of interest rates lower than in terms of the amount 500 to 10 thousand dollars and a term of one to five years and that is not a social underwriting component like kiva is known for where there's crowd funding available through kiva by uh working with this fund there's a an expectation to begin your project within three months of completing scale up then use the cost savings from the project to begin to repay the loan which is the idea of why to track why the benchmark so you know where you're at you know how much money you're saving on a regular basis and to reinvest back into your business on a regular basis and then for follow-up to report on how your project has reached uh 10 to 10 to 20 reductions in your sustainability project category uh we had before 10 as a minimum and we've uh worked with our new cohort to reach a higher goal of 20 that we're aiming for we want to reach as high of a goal of reductions as possible within any of those areas now and we're excited that people won't want to make that commitment there's also enhanced community benefits available uh with additional incentives through our partnerships we've made this a platform so we work with the utilities and municipalities and working with different rebates that are there to track on any rebate that's available there are some exclusive incentives that we're shaping up through the program that we're excited to unveil i'll be uh talking about that soon jennifer at the end of the cohort about the additional incentives as well so we're making it a combination platform of what's already existing to the utilities in the municipalities and new incentives that we're creating as well and ideally it's about paying it back to pay it forward the revolving loan funds are a way to be a flexible source of capital for these green projects and our community i also want to highlight the arizona green business program we find it's an excellent tool again for for phoenix this is for phoenix businesses and phoenix metro area businesses to any business uh that's in mesa tempe or phoenix can currently participate to have this toolkit of best practices available related to energy and water and waste and pollution prevention and transportation if you're in the well this is as relevant but in the tucson area we have the southern arizona green business alliance and that's where we've started our green business leaders program which is the certification program that's mirroring the uh effort with phoenix and in tucson we're working to shape this in the phoenix area as well there are three levels to participate in there's the green leaders certification program their scale up and then there's the tucson 2030 district when we are looking to see if we can get a phoenix 2030 district going with partners now we're finding there's some interest and we're starting the initial conversations the idea of a 2030 district it's a national initiative where buildings located in a district commit to a pledge to reduce energy water and transportation 50 by 2030. and then they get assistance from the experts in the network with deep energy and water saving retrofits including discounts on those services to create more demand in the green marketplace this is an example of what our checklist looks like with one of our programs both programs are very in-depth so you'll get to see how to take action with any of these areas in depth from resiliency to energy water and green infrastructure waste and procurement transportation food and events equity and environmental justice and community engagement and next steps if you're part of scale-up you're getting access to these resources already so it's all bundled together if you want to start with scale up it's more advanced to go through that but you will get access to these resources simultaneously so you can work concurrently through the programs and then i want to mention a an upcoming program that we hope to expand statewide it's starting in southern arizona and then we hope to expand it to phoenix with the phoenix 2030 district this is the 2030 district green champion program where there is more targeted support for advanced projects so as you get your initial project shape through scale up there will be more support for reaching higher targets with 50 minimum reductions per uh building or facility or site involved and so we know there's a lot more to be done and we have the partnership of experts building professional experts who know exactly how to go to 50 or beyond and the current 2030 district has 23.9 million gross square feet of floor area committed in the tucson area and then 13.4 million square feet of property owner building area participating and 56 participation rate uh that 56 participation rate includes pima county city of tucson and u of a buildings and so it's a partnership of property owners managers developer partners professional service partners and community partners so what we're creating here and this is where we're headed statewide is a multiple levels we have our certification programs we have scale up which is the more intermediate to advanced planning program for projects and then as projects get more advanced or there are bigger goals that participants want to take on we work with our building professional partners to look for more opportunities for performance to be achieved higher levels of goals to be met and a case study of a green business that is uh committed to going through multiple programs really all of the programs available hotel congress hopefully most of you know or many of you or all of you know hotel congress they're known for their green teams with mrs green's world solar hot water efforts water conservation with eco blue the one less straw initiative compost and water recycling master recycling compostable containers and they're going through all the programs so i wanted to end there because i want time for questions i know we have a few minutes here so uh any questions from the group about our series of programs and and how you can get involved i don't see anything in the chat so i was fortunate i'm a um green business um certified person so i got a little bit of a discount on my scale up so it's super exciting but that also means that since i've gone through the green business piece certification piece i'm trying to figure out how where exactly i want to get my 20 reduction from i think i'm going with water but not positive yet i'll probably call it good i'm ready to talk anytime what connections do you have with asu we're starting to form a partnership with asu right now around their they have an incubator program for sustainability uh projects and so we want to work with them to be another pathway into scale up for those startups that are getting their sustainability projects going to be the next level into the program uh to getting the scale up and continue on with their their program ideas so if you um enroll in all three programs do you get discounts across the board um on the other certifications exactly and that's why we want to expand the 23rd district of phoenix so those advanced uh opportunities are available that advanced expertise support sustainability is a lifelong journey of i'm finding there's so much more that can be done with one project can lead to many others scale-ups the place if you're looking to get a project defined and going quickly we can accelerate that project through the process we've developed over the years that's the simplest way to put scale up as the benefit for why to participate couple questions yes hi uh thank you for the presentation that was wonderful uh are you working with the green bond uh people in state of arizona we are not yet i've got connections that are about to be made there interesting you bring it up because we definitely want to and definitely need to soon so if you have any recommendations there i would really appreciate it i've got a few people making some leads for me well yeah i've been talking to lindsay jones she's the environmental program supervisor for water infrastructure finance authority of arizona yes it's the bonding authority and they do green bonds for water projects so i've got uh her okay that my projects could be part of that bonding authority but i wouldn't be the one getting the bonds or loans it would be my clients i kind of need to bring my client which one of his central arizona project in as a local first arizona member i think they would really like to do something like that because they want to get more involved in the community with uh um they're just their community relations yeah and plus they would need to finance part of the project that i'm proposing to him so it wouldn't be me getting a membership in local first maybe i will but it'd be my clients do you have outreach to utilities like this it's a big water to utility yes we do we partner also with the utilities and the municipalities to do these programs so everything you're saying is a good fit from what i'm hearing i'd like to talk more i i dropped my email thank you i'll send you an email just show you what projects i'm working on which are some of them with cap but some are done in buckeye water projects fit right into everything you're talking about sustainable water in uh phoenix is uh is important for the future so yeah i'll send you an email what we're doing see how we can get involved but i keep thinking it's more of a client basis it needs to get involved with you guys become members and all that because they're the ones that are going to get the funding yes let's talk that's a fit it sounds like to me for scale up okay brian you've only been a member for three weeks now you've gotten tons of value out of that yeah i'm so busy now i i don't know what to do i need help guys but yeah that's it's been wonderful jennifer thank you absolutely our pleasure that's what we're about networking connecting and figuring out where everybody's supposed to get more business with each other anybody else have any questions for mike we have about six minutes left and mike already got minutes back in his day earlier so maybe he can get things back now yeah i also want to mention that the uh the local first website has more information i'm going to drop a link in for the sustainability program so you can go directly to that right now and then jennifer i'll send you the slides well that's awesome thank you and we'll put it we'll send it out to everybody that was an attendee i also want to say i think thank you for your kind words mike at the beginning and also let everyone know that um green living partners with um local first each month and on the local first arizona sustainability program and we highlight highlighted green champion um in the magazine too which is a great partnership that we have thank you for that dory i appreciate it true statement now um if everybody could do like a screenshot of their gallery view and then post it on social media that would be awesome to way to say you were here and so on and i'm going to be sending out a poll here pretty soon so you can tell us how you feel about today's meeting screenshot of the how do you do that um on the mac i just hit can shift command 4 and i can do a screenshot of everybody on the screen it was like print screen yeah print screen networks yep that works and then put it on so post it on social media tag merteg green living green living magazine arizona green chamber in local first arizona got it hashtag sip and connect awesome and here is the poll and you can move that off your screen if you don't want it on your screen but there's the wall which is why everybody has to log in um remember if you want to join uh green living green living mate dory i'm spending too much time with you jen if you want to join the arizona green chamber um you can go to azgreenchamber.org and click on um join if you want to be a sponsor of the sip and connect you get your name mentioned on social media as well as in all of the sippin connect series on the invites and in the newsletters for um there's a couple there's a opportunity to do it for 30 days and for 60 days um and then also for the next few weeks next week we have alexis which is also on here she is doing um recycling as i mentioned and then we have uh just a basic community networking with breakout sessions we all get together in chit chat then we have robin reed is going to be talking about green finances um i believe that sunrun is going to be on for the week after that um then we have another community network i'm sorry that's not true i have arizona solar is going to be on for two weeks we're having two different um series discussions there um and so i think we're booked out until the beginning of november at this point so there's lots of things going on lots of great chats that we're going to have and i'm just really excited to see you guys every week with your favorite beverage of course mine is the wine most weeks i drink water but today i get to be at home and drink wine i'm super excited about that [Music] anybody have any last minute comments i do have one last minute comment and mike you and i may want to talk about this offline or something um with the apartment communities um green living we're actually doing a green a grand opening for a green apartment building september 8th and it's going to be from four to seven and we're following all cbc guidelines and pp ppe and things of that nature but it's going to be a green apartment community where um every single apartment has their own electric car charging stations and it'll be a really great way to connect and i think jen's one of the chefs at the event as well so um if you wanted to put that in your calendar um october 1st is september 8th it's actually october 8th um they just moved it okay october 47 so if you want to see a green apartment community in south mountain so it's nestled right up in the mountains and they've got a lot of energy efficient and green um green aspects to the apartment community What do you like best?

I like how its very easy to use. You can make sure it is also organize as you can create folders and title your documents properly. Overall look and its interface is user-friendly. It is very helpful for us at times like this where it needs a lesser person-to-person interaction, you can get your documents signed in a minute and it goes right to your inbox too. For all business especially, working remotely and all the digital platforms this is the answer on your waiting game for unsigned, unread important documents! The bulk sending function is the best, as we have compared it to other similar software, some doesn't allow bulk sending like this but Sign Now has a very generous trial phase to send at least 50 documents per day. We would definitely, use this software again!

How do you make a document that has an electronic signature?

How do you make this information that was not in a digital format a computer-readable document for the user? " "So the question is not only how can you get to an individual from an individual, but how can you get to an individual with a group of individuals. How do you get from one location and say let's go to this location and say let's go to that location. How do you get from, you know, some of the more traditional forms of information that you are used to seeing in a document or other forms. The ability to do that in a digital medium has been a huge challenge. I think we've done it, but there's some work that we have to do on the security side of that. And of course, there's the question of how do you protect it from being read by people that you're not intending to be able to actually read it? " When asked to describe what he means by a "user-centric" approach to security, Bensley responds that "you're still in a situation where you are still talking about a lot of the security that is done by individuals, but we've done a very good job of making it a user-centric process. You're not going to be able to create a document or something on your own that you can give to an individual. You can't just open and copy over and then give it to somebody else. You still have to do the work of the document being created in the first place and the work of the document being delivered in a secure manner."

How to physically sign a pdf document?

I was looking for a guide about how to sign pdf documents. My question is: How can I sign a pdf document without a pdf viewer ? Thank you! Here's how. If you have a free e-reader app on a Windows machine, you can open your pdf file and paste it inside. This will sign your document but it won't open it in your normal reader app. It works like the old days on a PC, when you had to open a PDF file before you could view or print it. If you have an ebook reader, you can also sign a pdf file with an eSignature on an ebook, but this is not the same as signing a PDF file. eSignatures are for things you do, like writing your name on a stamp. This requires an ebook reader app that supports it. A pdf viewer is an ebook reader app that can read and open your pdf, so you can use this to sign a document. However, it can't do your name or your address on an address label.
