what is going on everyone i hope you are all having a fantastic day so if you've been around my channel for a little while now then you know that i have done a lot of bank reviews and honestly it's these bank reviews that helped get my channel off the ground this past year so as we look forward towards a brand new year in 2021 i thought this was a great time to not only look back on the various banks that we reviewed but more importantly talk about the best bank account options going forward into 2021. so today let's break down the top five best bank accounts that will help you reach your financial goals in the new year let's jump right into it [Music] so every single bank that i'm going to talk about today does have a full review on my channel and i'll be sure to link to them up in the cards throughout the video and down in the description if you do want a more in-depth look at any of the banks that we're gonna look at and while this video is largely based on my own personal opinion what i did is scored each bank based on my own experiences and then looked at the various views and other engagement numbers on each of the individual reviews and added those together in order to create this top five list so if you have watched any of my other bank review videos then you helped create this top five and i really appreciate that alright so let's start with number five and work our way up to the number one bank which i feel is going to be the best bank going into 2021 so number five on our list is actually going to be the only large brick and mortar national bank on the list and that would be capital one specifically their 360 performance savings and 360 checking account their savings account is currently going to offer you 0.4 interest which is pretty competitive especially when compared to other national banks like chase or bank of america and unlike many of their national competitors they are going to charge no fees and give you free access to their network of 40 000 atms now the biggest benefit when it comes to capital one and really the reason that it is on this list is because they're going to offer you that in person option if you do prefer to physically go into a bank to make a deposit or just get a question answered quickly so obviously they have their standard capital one locations but they also have their growing network of capital one cafes which is a mix of a bank and a starbucks i've never been to one personally myself but it seems like a pretty cool concept if you ask me and of course they also have a vast network of other financial services including some of the most popular credit card options on the market currently and their mobile platform is one of the highest rated mobile banking platforms that i have seen moving on from there we have the fourth best bank for 2021 and that would be ally bank now some of you might be surprised that this isn't higher up on the list but keep in mind that i have done a ton of bank reviews throughout the year so just being in the top five means that it is a great option for sure so allied bank is currently going to offer you 0.5 on their savings account as well as some awesome savings features such as their bucket savings and booster savings which allows you to automatically set money aside for your various financial goals now they also have a checking account option that is going to pay you 0.1 percent on balances below fifteen thousand dollars and zero point two five percent on balances above fifteen thousand dollars and while that might sound like a terrible interest rate remember that this is a checking account so the fact that it pays anything at all is pretty awesome as usual this account is going to charge you no minimum balance fees or monthly maintenance fees or anything like that and is going to give you free access to their network of 43 000 atms and outside of that they also have their own ally investing platform certificates of deposit money market accounts as well as various auto loan and mortgage options ally has been around for a long time and really was the pioneer of the fully online banking model so while this didn't make the top of the list in my opinion this is a fantastic option for sure with a very reputable track record coming in at number three on our list is going to be a company that is near and dear to my heart and that would be discover bank now many of you are probably familiar with the very very popular discover it credit card and that is largely the reason why i love this company so much because that was actually my very first credit card but discover also offers some pretty fantastic banking services as well for starters their checking account currently offers one percent cashback which is absolutely insane for a free checking account and it has no fees plus gives you free access to their network of 60 000 atms they also have savings account options that will currently pay you 0.5 percent interest plus different money market account options certificates of deposit and even retirement account options which i have not seen for many competitors and as i mentioned they also have several different credit card options and if you haven't yet started building your credit then i highly encourage you to check out the discover it credit card because in my opinion it is 100 the best beginner credit card if you are just getting started so if you do already have the discover it card or if you're just looking for an awesome bank with a great company then definitely check out discover bank coming in at number two on our list for best banks going into 2021 is the incredibly popular mobile bank chime chime is probably the most popular online bank option currently and that's not really that surprising considering how much money they have dumped into advertising on tv especially but this is a fantastic platform that currently offers you 0.5 percent interest with an incredibly well-designed mobile app that honestly sets them apart from the competition this account is going to charge you no fees as usual but they also have some awesome features such as the ability to get paid up to two days early their roundup and automatic savings features and their new credit builder card that allows you to build up your credit history and credit score by simply using this card for your regular everyday purchases and as i mentioned their mobile app is really well designed and allows you to keep an eye on your money without making it too over complicated and one of the coolest things about chime is they will actually give you a 75 signup bonus when you open this account in setup direct deposit so if that is something that you're interested in then there is a link for that down in the description below but if you're not interested in that then that is completely okay so chime is a fantastic option for sure but that brings us to the number one bank for 2021 which is probably no surprise if you've seen any of my other videos but that would be drumroll please so far through all of the reviews that i have done all of the versus videos and even bank tournaments trying to find something that could beat sofi i still have yet to find it and that is why i still believe that sofi is the best online banking option and really banking option in general going into 2021 their sofi money account charges no fees and gives you access to their network of 55 000 atms now the biggest bummer with this account is that it's currently only going to pay you 0.25 interest however they do have various cash back options from certain retailers which in my experience does largely make up for that slightly lower interest rate their app is incredibly well designed and while it is a little bit cluttered with advertisements for their own products the ability to keep track of all of your financial tools under one application is something that i have advocated for for a long time and still firmly believe in not only do they have fantastic banking options but they also have the very popular sofi invest platform sofi relay which allows you to monitor your credit create an effective budget and just keep track of all of your other accounts plus sofa borrow that has various student loan personal loan and mortgage options and as if all of that wasn't enough they also have the brand new sofa credit card that offers you two percent cash back that can be directly put into an investment account paid towards your loans or just save for when you need it most and really it's those areas outside of the banking features that put sofi ahead of other options like chime in my opinion but strictly looking at the banking side of things they also are going to offer you some incredible unique features with their partnerships with other companies such as renters insurance life insurance home owners insurance estate planning and even free financial planning with the sofi invest platform plus sofi will currently give you fifty dollars when you open a sofi money account and make a deposit plus they'll give you another fifty dollars worth of a free stock of your choice
