hello I'm Casey Kyler West with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry it's been a big week of changes and announcements so today I'm recapping some of this week's highlights DLI was able to roll out the pandemic unemployment insurance platform so self-employed 1099 contractors and others who may be eligible for unemployment insurance under the cares Act can quickly fill out and submit their applications you can find that platform at MT puah MT gov bringing that system online allows us to serve this population who hasn't traditionally been eligible for UI and gives Montanans needed economic relief during this pandemic we also talked about keeping yourself safe and healthy as we continue to fight coronavirus resources from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration the National Safety Council and Montana's Department of Public Health and Human Services are available on our DLA covin 19 page which you can visit at DLI GMT gov slash koban 19 Montana has been fortunate to have one of the lowest numbers of cases among the state's we need to work vigilantly to keep it that way we're transitioning into a new phase with the governor's plan to reopen Montana as you consider what that means in your own life we discussed using our job service centers as a resource these offices are providing services online and over the phone they can help you with your plan to get back into the workforce or secure training for a new path beginning this weekend our communities will start to look a little different as businesses begin to reopen we thank you for continuing to do your part to keep our families and our communities protected and secure we all want to make sure we can proceed on a path when we're all safe we will continue to do that together
