so out hi we are based in hong kong this is where our headquarters is located and we are focusing on the career wi-fi products since 2002 and back in 2002 we are just a small research group on the ash tree which is a hong kong government funded research institute and then we have developed the smart antenna technologies and when the technology became mature so we spun off the group to become a separate owned company called altai in 2006 and we are privately held till today as mentioned earlier we are focusing on the um carrier-grade innovative wireless broadband solutions and so far we have deployed in over 100 countries and we started off with just outdoor equipment since our smart antenna technologies can provide a very large coverage which is very suitable for outdoor deployment and along the years we have also developed a full uh portfolio ranging from macro micro pico to cover both outdoor and intel and together with our cloud-based new generation network management platform which i will go over that in the next section okay i hope you guys can see my screen now and our customer base are divided into two parts the public network and the private network side for the public network side um actually we've been selling to mostly wireless isp the internet service providers and also we saw to some mobile operators which may use our solution for wi-fi offload and more to that also we have also deployed quite a number of municipality wi-fi which is usually funded by the local government which is also quite popular these days and on the vertical market side then we did many many deployments ranging from just a typical office hotels to industrial parks or some other vertical markets and our biggest market in this vertical segment is actually container ports and later on i will also tell you the reason why because this is actually the main thing for this for today's presentation and our business model is very simple we sell through our distributors and local partners and some si system integrators and in south africa correct is our distributor that we have signed up last year so um along the years actually we have been recognized by the industry and we have been awarded some uh industrial uh recognitions and mostly local but also some regionals as well for example we've been awarded a couple of times by the hong kong awards for industry for our technological achievement and also we got a couple of times hong kong ict awards and we also have been named the red red herring 100 asia and also we've been awarded by boeing research and technology civil award um the more recent one is actually the uh in 2017 we've been awarded by iet uh which is a british institute for electronics and telecommunications for the innovation award for communications and last year we've been shortlisted as the top 10 wireless solution providers by online magazines called apex cio outlook and we do have a presence around the world mainly in our key market segments for example in china in southeast asia in africa and also in latin america so these are our key market segments with our local presence of course we also have been working with many sales channels around the group as i mentioned earlier we have deployments all over the world in over 100 plus countries apart from our headquarters here in hong kong which basically accommodates all our corporate functions like sales and marketing finance i mean and also the our most of our key uh r d staff are located here in hong kong uh we also run another small office closed border in sanjin which consists of a small um software development and just like uh most of the other high-tech companies uh we focus on the r d and we do make use of control manufacturers for production and we do make use of cms in taiwan so the next section we'll go over a little bit about our technologies we do on a number of patents mainly around those smart antenna technologies both in u.s and in china here is just the less of them and about our super wi-fi technologies uh actually it is all around our smart antenna algorithm that we have developed more than 10 years ago so we've been using this 8x8 mimo for many years already and it's been a proven technologies and with this smart antenna technologies actually we can achieve about the maximum 1.7 kilometer range okay with a standard client okay um the problem uh for most of those uh uh wi-fi link whenever they want to uh reach a longer distance uh all they all the people will normally do just to boost up the power maybe they just use a high-gain antenna on the ap side uh this will definitely give you the uh very good downlink but the problem is on the uplink which is normally we're talking about standard client devices like your laptop or just um you know smartphone which does not have high power does not have a good antenna so eventually the uplink which is actually from the client side back to the ap side will not be able to establish so the link could not be made so hours my antenna technology can get around of this issue and of course you know uh since we are talking about wi-fi which is operating along um the license plan and um of course you know we will be subject to some kind of interference either by other wi-fi equipment or other ism band users so we do have some interference vegetation algorithm built in on top of it what we are trying to illustrate here is um because you know it's quite difficult to explain in a simple terms about interference meditation um so in order to simplify um i just please send you this diagram because there's been some kind of um i don't i call it a myth okay because uh if anybody is experiencing a wireless communications you will notice that all these all other technologies will be using directional antenna for the best radiate radio performance but strange enough i mean wi-fi many of those wi-fi devices they will be using omni antennas probably i would i would guess that wi-fi are widely used by many laymans and which does not have any radio technologies knowledge at all so using omni antenna definitely will be a kind of a quick fix which you know the users will not care about where they're going to locate uh where they're going to put their aps and they will be able to get some kind of coverage okay but obviously this will not be a desirable one because if you want the best rf performance you do need to put in some efforts for some kind of radio planning obviously it is okay if you're talking about just a small premises like as your home or even a small office but if you're talking about a little bit bigger uh deployment uh with larger premises or even uh to the to the extreme you know when you talk about the outdoor you know talk about a city wi-fi network definitely you need to put in a lot of efforts for radio planning just like men just like any other you know uh wireless network okay so here i'm just trying to say uh most of our products are built in with a sector antenna okay in order to have the best rf performance another one is actually our alter care which is our new generation um management platform uh the reason why i said it's a new generation because uh of course you know the typical network management platform will definitely take care of the ap management and definitely of course this is part of the function the function basic functionality is about ikea platform and on top of it um our die care platform also can cover those uh i would say from the user's perspective so as you can see in this diagram there's a capture on those uh dashboard uh which uh gives you a very a glimpse of what is what's what's going on with your network okay the number of users uh the uh what they are using is the 2.4 or five gigahertz and also the uh the throughput usage etc etc so this has been a very uh presented in a very uh intuitive way in a graphical format and of course you can uh take based on this record in order to you know adjust your uh your network planning accordingly okay and it also does support a built-in captive portal uh so which is very which comes very handy especially if you are just a startup isp operator and you can use our brain porter portal uh to build uh to build up your business immediately okay and also your supports uh third party programming as well throughout the internal radius interface and the other feature that i would highlight here is our patented feature called afi which is primarily a throughput optimization algorithm okay so what it really does actually it on average you can actually double um the throughput for the base station or ap if you like okay and um in just in a simple terms what it actually does you know how how it actually you know increases the throughput uh because actually we are no magician okay what we actually do is actually um in plain terms uh we are more likely to uh reallocate like a time slot you know or you know to each client okay because you for this feature you know you don't we don't need to touch the client side so you don't need to put in uh to install a a app or anything there okay it's controlled uh by the ap or the base stations on the ap side and we will just allocate the time slots you know for each clients in order to i would say to readjust it so that those clients on the far end will be able to get more throughput so to them uh they will benefit a lot okay and for those near em and one because they are already close to the base station so they have a very good uh snr so they already could have a good for good signal and also good throughput so sacrificing a little bit you know they won't suffer that much and they probably i mean the users probably don't uh don't notice that at all so overall uh this will actually double the overall throughput for those base stations of bp so the next question which will come to everyone's mind it's why okay because on the market there have been maybe hundreds of the different vendors which are also producing the wi-fi standard products okay and so is our time so why would you choose altai okay so here i will just give you a few key points uh addressing this critical question i hope you can help you make a wiser choice to use outside super wi-fi solution first of all it's of course all about our smart antenna technology because our smart antenna technology has been proven working in the market for more than 10 years okay it can offer up to 1.7 kilo meter range okay line of slide of course assuming there's no not much interference i.e we'll talk about like a rural area okay of course when you come to uh uh the uh suburbans or even city area of course this kind of distance will be a little bit reduced but for 1.7 kilometer range i'm talking about standard client devices like your laptop or tablet or smartphone okay which nobody else can achieve it nobody else okay we are the only one on the market who can make use of standard wi-fi technology and can reach 1.7 kilometer range to standard client okay we are the only one okay and further to that point about coverage then it comes to the tco what what is tcl tco is total cost of ownership which is actually the total cost that you put in including the capex and the opex okay that you put into your network in order to run your network okay so given the same size of the area that you want to cover definitely if you're using anti-server wi-fi solution you will need much less number of aps or wi-fi base stations okay so the number of aps will be minimized so then you need uh to buy less number of equipment so that's why you need less capac and even less optics to operate okay because especially when you talk about um outdoor network you need to acquire the site a suitable site to put in your ap or the wi-fi based stations and all this actually not just you know cost you money but actually you consume a lot of your time to negotiate that for example in the philippines for example you know uh you need to use like a property agent in order to find you the uh the suitable site and to acquire them to negotiate for tenancy contract you know to negotiate for the pricing as well the rental cost okay so uh on top of it also like backhoe because um you might need to rent uh you know some backhoe links from the other telcos or the um the bandwidth provider so if you if you installed the minimum number of sites of course you know you need only to pay the minimum for those opex to run that network as well and the third point is our new feature which is called always connected okay this is actually a very very um i would say a breakthrough feature uh because it provides a brilliant redundant connectivity okay uh the meaning is we allow the clients can connect to more than one ap at the same time okay so in case of any site or any ap that's been done for any reasons and that would be very fast recovery or when the clients need to run from one ap to another then basically you don't need i mean there's no uh handover time for the rooming time because that's been already connected okay so this has been very i would say breakthrough in this wi-fi technology and it does help in many different scenarios especially for example in industrial applications which i will talk about that more later in this session and these actually the implied the seamless rooming as well apart from this always connected feature we also enhances the rooming mechanism on our side so we can minimize the rooming time required down to milliseconds okay which is very important for many applications especially for those mission critical operations and also most of our products are of industrial design with ip66 rating which is the ingress production rating against dust and water okay so also with built-in industrial grade surge and vibration protection and which is very important especially when you're talking about outdoor deployment and also for many other industrial applications as well in addition uh in some hazardous environment you do need to put those uh active radios inside the explosion enclosure which we also can provide them as well which is the tailor-made one for our ap and of course you have to use external antennas but the antennas are okay because antennas are passive components uh so we can stick out of these explosion-proof enclosures so the next section will cover our product portfolio as i mentioned earlier in the beginning of this session we started out our our product roller with outdoor product because of our smart antenna technologies um and which can bring you uh up to 1.7 kilometer range okay so definitely uh you you can't really find that kind of a size of a rain or venue in indo so along the years we have also developed into different product range so so far now we have i can say three product ranges the high end one which is our refraction product which is called a8 and then we have the mid-range products in the middle two lines and of course the bottom one which is the affordable range problem okay so back to our virtual product which is our ax family uh which comes in three different flavors okay and the first one on the left hand side which is the aein which comes with integrated uh smart antenna a directional antenna which can give you the furthest distance so this is the one uh which can give you up to 1.7 kilometer range okay and the middle one is our original version the a n as you can see this is the radio itself um and on top of it you can see they there are eight uh you know n connectors for antenna for external antenna connections uh which you will use to connect to our self-designed smart antenna uh usually you connect to four of them so one to place in each direction so basically four of them will make like only like coverage okay because it is uh in fact it consists of four separate antennas so basically it gives you the flexibility how you're going to locate those four antennas okay um the typical one as i mentioned earlier you can put one in each direction so one for fronting it's pointing years one pointing stub one pointing west one pointing off then you have a like only light coverage but maybe for a particular deployment scenario you have to put maybe two or three in a similar direction in order to enhance the coverage and that direction and you can also uh you know work with those time tube angles uh individually so it gives you the flexibility so a lot of people also like this version as well but the downside is actually as you can see because of the external connectors you it does take up some kind of work to connect all of them uh with the rf cables and of course for outdoor deployment you also need to wrap them up with some you know weatherproof tape after of the connection okay so it is uh it is flexible but it it does takes up some time you know to make it uh to complete the installation and the right hand side one which is our i would say the modified version which is called the aain which is the integrated uh smart only antenna version okay this one is actually is to to answer those people who want the omni coverage but doesn't want to do the dirty work to connect all these rf cables with external connect antennas so this one will be the answer okay uh yet this one will be the easiest deployment for omni comfort okay so you can just mount it on top of a pole and then you immediately give you omni coverage okay for the mid-range product uh we have three products okay so we start with this one a2 so a2 is a very compact compact one and it is actually primarily designed as a wireless bridge because in most of our deployments sometimes in especially in those suburban or rural areas even though our equipment can be used for uh many wi-fi products are used for the access solution but then you still need to connect the base stations back to the your backbone so that part is called backhoe so in case you don't have the wire tobacco then actually we can also offer you this wireless backup the actual wireless bridge port for back holding button okay so this is the a2 and if you want to use for dual band axis then this we have two choices okay one of them is the a3 ei which is a high performance three by three one again this one is integrated with directional antenna and also we come up with a newer version called the ax-500 okay this is this one comes with the smart built-in smart antennas with two different variants the s actually is for the second coverage and t is for omni coverage so this one is uh primarily useful like a smart city or what we call a street level coverage deployment scenarios okay and down to the bottom row which is the affordable range product so this is our c family okay so starting from the left-hand side the c1 family which is the single band product c1n is the one covers the 2.4 triggers and whilst c1an covers the five gigahertz band okay again they are equipped with integrated directional antenna okay which is a probably the the best price performance products on the market okay and of course by far this is a i would say in terms of the numbers of of units sold this is probably the the best selling product of our time and the middle one is our c2s the dual band version of c family again it comes with uh integrated directional antenna as well uh which actually based on the success story of c1 farming this is actually the dual band version of it okay and again because most of our competitors they always come with external antennas with only antennas so based on the market demand we also come up with the new one which is called the cx200 okay so this one is actually i would say it is a similar to most of our other competitors uh it comes with the four external antennas this is actually the uh uh with rp sma connectors so um it comes with the box actually with four uh omni antennas as well so you can already uh once you receive it you can just deploy it as you wish okay or dual band only coverage of course the reason why we launched the product is not mainly for this only coverage because most of our competitors do have a similar solution but our 6 200 mainly targeted for those who would like for some special applications uh where the integrated antennas may not work so they may want to use for example uh we have a case that some some customers would like to use only 2.4 for access and they would like to use the five triggers for uh backhoe so they want to use the external version one so they can play with these antennas by themselves okay so next is actually our indoor product lineup and again we do have three product range the top of the indoor product line is actually our 3.3 high performance one which is called a3c for ceiling mount also dual band ao 2.11 ao2.11ac compliant and also we have the affordable range which is called the ix-500 which is again for silicon dual-band ao2.ac the wi-fi 5 compliant and the latest family to the indoor product range is our industrial cpe which is called the vx-200 this is actually the just launched this year and it is a very very compact design and very rugged it's made of metallic metal enclosure and also quite a high power and it comes with i don't know if you can see them they come with external connectors and also with a serial port as well so this is designed solely for industrial application because this is in order to support those uh industrial practices for example direct pc input it supports uh directly input it supports legacy serial uh port and also this compact size so that they can fit into virtually any scenario it also supports a derailment as well this is also very common for any industrial deployments because of this the the small compact size and also the high transmit power so we do expect some kind of a hit issue and so that's why we have also chose we have chosen to use a super material called graphene in order to enhance the heat dissipation because the box itself is fairness so it has to you know use the natural you know dissipation by air okay regarding our management platform as mentioned earlier we have our new generation platform called out icare so originally it is actually a cloud-based platform which is actually probably the de facto standard for today uh it is built upon the secure redundant and scalable cloud technologies and of course um this is actually one of the main choice for many of our users but um in some countries or some regions some those areas you know either they um there's some restrictions or the customers they won't they don't want to go on cloud that's why we also offer them an alternative uh on-premise version okay uh so on-premises version is the one that basically you just put the software on the local host okay and then everything will be uh routed communicated locally on-premises without going on file okay and on the far right hand side there is another one which is called alta gay okay so normally alta gay is mainly used for the enlarged deployment or complicated network where you need a layer three um you need also a tunneling as well okay so this is where you will use altercate and autocad basically is just i would say the out high care on-premises version uh combining with the gateway feature with some networking functions this is uh what outer gate is about okay so of gay it uh i would say that if you try to compare with uh our competitors term uh terminology that will be their uh controller so uh our target will be out of authorized controller of course it supports redundancy so they'll be required so i hope so far everyone is can follow what i am talking about so next i will just a deep um dive deep into uh industrial application which is the theme for today's section um so um in industrial applications that they are facing a lot of challenges and here i will just summarize them and also address how we address how we solve them the first of all of course is the compatibility because in the industrial applications or in the uh technologies there are many of them available they all claim uh to target for industrial applications uh for example the cellular or like for example lte they also have the narrowband version the lte mp to target for this kind of uh that's right they also have like a lora sigfogs or there are many other different technologies they're also claiming they are they're suitable for industrial application but uh one thing that is for sure is uh in terms of the availability wi-fi is number one okay uh almost all i mean according to the study over 18 billion devices in the world are wi-fi equipped wi-fi enabled and basically if you look around i think everything that you see uh sooner or later will be equipped with a wi-fi for example your laptop uh you know your smartphone your gadgets everything is wi-fi on days or most of the televisions or some other appliances also are wi-fi enabled as well and also even even for vehicle cars uh the new cars are also equipped with wi-fi so basically uh wi-fi is the most accessible wireless technology so to me it is the vettel standard you know to be used okay for the very simple reason and next is about coverage because usually for this kind of industrial applications their premises are huge okay you are talking about you are not talking about like a small office or a small venue you are talking about large premises you are for industrial applications you are talking about for example a large you know production plant a storage hub a you know you know like for example industrial park or some you know those are all container ports those are huge area okay and typically um these kind of facilities or premises they also have very limited sites for ap as well this is the reason why they look for um you know technologies and also solutions with large error coverage okay because sometimes money cannot solve their problem okay this is a very very uh i would say the one of their key pain points okay if you don't equip with enough ap then you don't get a good uh coverage a good rate of performance and then you will have a lot of a blind spot you know weak signals then definitely you jeopardize their operation okay and the next one is mobility because in those kind of uh deployment scenario uh nowadays they are all talk about automation like industrial 4.0 uh is all about automation so they make use of a lot of robots vehicles or some kind of devices which they need to roam around in the large premises so rooming is the key okay and as i pointed out earlier we outside supervisor solution uh we provide a seamless rooming okay we are talking about midi second rooming okay this is very very useful for them and also reliability reliability because this kind of industrial application is not like a home use or office use okay office use or home use you maybe talk about like a few hours a day okay but for most of the the industry we are talking about they are 24x7 for example calling the port you know manufacturing plant today uh in china they have many uh what they call the dark factory you know because all the everything is automated so you don't even need workers to to stay so that's why you don't even to turn on light that's what they call those factories are dark factories okay so definitely you know uh with this kind of automation you can have 24x7 operation okay even in the old days in the typical uh factories even uh with a lot of workers uh like in foxconn you know one of the largest control manufacturer in the world he was the one that will make iphones um you know they they employ like you know hundreds of thousands of workers in the factories okay it's huge okay and they work by ships okay so the the factories work 24x7 so they need a very reliable connectivity they can't afford any downtime because every minute of time time means loss of business lots of revenues and lots of money okay and also most of these um uh you know deployments are actually in a very harsh environment like container ports which is by the sea you know and for example if you talk about some other uh typical uh deployments like a production plan or mining is very dusty and by the way for con you know container port they uh what is the problem the problem is actually because it's closed by sea so is the the the salt level is very high so a lot of those uh um for example the the equipment the surface or the uh margining kit they may be uh getting problematic you know once you deploy for some time okay because of the the salt level okay and we do have uh you know we all take that into account for our product design and our you know even the mounting kit so here i just highlight uh six market segments uh definitely i'm not saying our outside super wide resolution can only be used in these six market segments and the reason why i highlight these six marker segments because these six markers segments they all share similar requirements okay where uh what i call the standard wi-fi ap cannot do the job okay they cannot meet the these stranger requirements and most in most of the cases they will fire okay and when and outside solutions can excel in this even in this kind of a challenging environment okay for example like smart manufacturing okay because in again in this smart production plan usually this is huge uh premises and also they have a lot of metallics infrastructure ceiling or you know supporting structures basically which will all you know uh interfere the radio okay like the automated warehouse logistics hubs for example nowadays in u.s in china or in many other countries especially under this coveted pandemic a lot of people are working from the uh from home and also they uh order everything from online from those e-commerce operators and those e-commerce operating operators they run many of these logistics hubs and mostly they are automated uh if you look at the diagram you'll see these kind of little um they call them robots or they actually the the proper name is agv automated guided vehicles okay those are unmet i mean there are the robots okay of course with our arms and legs okay but they are robots they are running around in this warehouse or logistic hubs probably each logistics hub we have around about 100 of them okay or maybe at least few tens of them and this is the the situation where you might have issues with roaming because if you need uh to put in a lot of aps then all these uh tens or even hundreds of these robots they have to make frequent roaming around them and and often they will make there will be some glitches some some hiccup and just imagine you know all these robots are running around 24 by seven uh once you have a glitch in a rooming then all these hundreds of this robot stop okay immediately and it could be a very uh you know serious issue to those operators okay and also like uh mining okay uh speaking of mining i i always like to mention about a is a a real case that i have encountered myself personally last year actually i went to turkey for business group and we met that customer a mining customer so i made a presentation about uh outside super wi-fi solution so the customer like it very much they say oh it sounds like the right solution for them okay but in the end there was a um consultant it's an american consultant uh who just voiced out that um you know he hasn't uh he doesn't know about al-qaeda okay which may be true because we we have not invested a lot on marketing so we may not be a very well-known brand uh to many people so these american consultants said um sorry you know i i don't know alki so i can't uh you know choose archive so i would i think it would be safer for me to choose a tier one vendor like cisco okay so eventually they went for i think cisco so about six months down the road actually the my partner in turkey we have as i mentioned we work with local partners so my partner in turkey uh his name is oma by the way so this is the same american consultant called oma and um and ask him hey oma do you still represent al-qaeda so omar replies that yeah of course you know i still represent aotai so what can i do so the consultant asked him oh can you bring the the super wi-fi solution i want to test it out so omar was you know surprised and he asked him so why would you like to try out solution because i thought you already chose uh cisco he said yeah i already chose them and we already installed a cop some of them but it didn't work well because uh as you can see this is an open cheat mine same is the same the same environment as the one in turkey is open pit so obviously you can't install anything in the middle where the excavation takes place so you have to install the wi-fi equipment on the perimeter okay and you have to uh you know point it towards where the workers or the uh the evices are located okay that's been at least a few hundred meters okay and of distance so those are what i call the standard wi-fi ap fail this is a very typical scenario okay so of course eventually omar said of course no problem you know so after hanging up the firm he immediately instructed his engineer to bring out his wi-fi space station and drove hun you know hundreds of kilo meters you know to the side and set it up and demonstrate it and it just worked okay very very good performance uh i think in this one they use uh the aein a reflection product with directional integrated directional smart antennas so they just you know put it on the perimeter and they can cover a very large area in the middle okay without any problem later on i will show you the the the case studies as well mining for the oil and gas this is also similar because usually uh oil and gas also uh occupies a large uh premises as well and this is where the uh i have mentioned about this hazardous zone uh this is the one that you might need to use the explosive proof enclosure to house the active radio inside and same same goes to power plant as well and the last but not least is the container port okay okay when i say ports basically it covers different types of ports it can be a c port it can be tripod it can be also a carport which i also have some cases to share the last session so here is the list of our major industrial customers and i also categorized under the six categories i have listed before so for the smart production you can say we have some bank names like volkswagen in shanghai foxconn coca-cola pepsi san miguel is all these are the uh the beverage giants okay and for the logistics uh logistics side we have also some bank names mainly those are from china one as you may imagine you know china in terms of the e-commerce probably is number one now okay and by the way um this month actually today the 11th of november they also have a like a e-commerce festival so there's a lot of reductions going on then they are making the news headline uh every day actually so probably later on if you turn on tv you will see the those chinese e-commerce giants also make the record-breaking revenues today so china probably you are not um you have not heard about them but they are actually the logistics arms of alibaba which for sure you may have heard about them and jd.com is another e-commerce giant from china dagdang is also another one which is focusing on the books okay and ems is actually the postal service the speed postal service actually and for the mining also we have some names in different territories itm is actually the largest coal mine operator in indonesia and the vedanta venenta is a distant company in england but actually they are owned by indian they own a lot of resources and also uh manufacturing plants in india penn londonops is actually the mining company in mexico so i also have a case study to show share with you later and the other one is the minerals and crystal which is a mine in bolivia it's owned by i think it's a japanese sumitomo um they are also running an open mind there okay oil and gas also we have uh two bank names one is actually the one from china it's a china national petroleum company the next one is uh petronas which is a malaysian owned uh for some of you who are sports fans i mean who are you know who follow at formula one you will probably have seen that petronas they are one of the major sponsors and for power plants uh we do have uh some customer bases mainly in hong kong the two power providers in hong kong are customers and also another two from india the artilla brother group and also reliance power in terms of ports as i mentioned earlier we are probably the number one in the container port market so basically i would say all the global container port operators are our customer okay so uh for example dp1 uh dubai port uh apm is actual headquarters in europe uh polaris cmm cgm both are actually based in france psa is actually comes from singapore hutchinson ports is headquarters in hong kong ictsi is actually based in the philippines and all these are actually global port operators all of them are you know operating ports around the world for example dpo as far as i remember they operate i think over 60 ports around okay um quan core and see china realm in the model they are the up there operating dry port the rail port in india and china respectively so um here comes the last section which is trade study um i've got i'm going to share with you some of our cases of different market segments in order to show you what it looks like in the real life deployment okay so the first one is actually the um [Music] smart manufacturing in china this is a car manufacturing plot um just to give you a little bit background this plant as you can see on the top of the diagram there are a lot of like a metallic infrastructure at the roof near the roof side so originally the customer they deployed i think more than 30 units of standard wi-fi ap from a tier one vendor i don't remember exactly which one but it's a well-known brand okay they use uh more than 30 units of them still they suffer from a lot of you know blind spots so eventually they turned to altai to our partner and finally they tested it and it's really the performance is really good so eventually our solution has replaced completely those tier one vendor one and eventually they only used seven of them uh of our flagship product ein again this is an integrated stacked uh directional antenna version uh in the ceiling as you can see on the lower picture which covers the whole you know manufacturing plant without any blind spots okay and even about 200 away from the base station they still enjoy a very good signal strength of over -60 dpm okay which is very very desirable okay another one is uh i classified as a production plan but this is actually the well it is a production plan but uh probably you won't be able to guess what it what it produces basically it is an egg producer okay uh yeah it is uh one of the largest in life in latin america okay it's ba is in uh mexico and the make use of both of our a8 and also a2 products as well for yin dot deployment and also some outdoor as well and so it's also working very well and again this is a i won't say it's a 24x7 for a production but this is also a very uh you know interesting one okay as discussed earlier you know we also have some deployments with those beverage giants like coca-cola bottling facilities in egypt like pepsi beverage production in vietnam and also in terms of the plant we also have deployment in india with aluminium company called balco so again they also use our flagship product aa and for indoor deployment okay and for logistics hubs um basically that this is actually like a i would say a typical well it's not exactly a typical one but uh i'm just trying to show you what it looks like in terms of the size so this kind of storage or warehouse or logistics hubs they are probably at least like few thousand square meters okay and when they use our flagship product which is the a ein actually each one of these can cover up to around 7 000 square meter or 8 000 square meter okay yeah that's true so only one of them can cover this whole area yes indeed it does of course but for the point of redundancy we do recommend our customers to install another one at the opposite corner okay so you can have some kind of redundancy to support their 24x7 operation and in some of these uh logistics hubs they will use these kind of uh robots uh they are it comes in different uh versions because for some of those are these kind of robots they have different functionalities some of them actually even bigger because some of them are using for uh are being used for uh ali for early reading and you know storage uh some of them are just roaming around like a small round one that you've seen earlier and some of them will be like this one it's a kind of i would say the mid mid-sized one they are the one moving heavy stacks of shipments around the warehouses maybe from the storage to the you know shipment area okay so in the beginning actually all these kind of robots usually comes with a built-in uh wi-fi module but as you can expect those wi-fi modules i would say the radio performance wise they're quite crappy so even they make use of our super wi-fi base station they still have some kind of uh issue okay sometimes with rooming okay so eventually the some customers they turn to anti they ask us to make like a total solution so to ask us to design one which is uh which can be put inside these small areas inside those agv the robots okay so eventually this is why we came up with our product called vx-200 okay um here the scenario because this one is a little bit better so at that time we actually converted our c1 and our single band cpe into an industrial version and to be put inside this agv okay so now we have the vx 200 which is a much uh smaller compact one also uh supports dual band which is even better and this is why this vx-400 is very very competitive on the market okay in terms of performance it is really perfect uh to work with our super wi-fi solution end-to-end because for example as i mentioned earlier you know our wi-fi base stations reduces the number of uh ap that is required for the uh it doesn't matter even for even larger size of premises then you need definitely much number of uh wi-fi based stations or aps thereby reducing the number of uh frequent roaming okay that will believe me that is much much desirable by those operators okay because this agv because they also need to connect to the back-end server so they have this kind of like a uh you know uh harvest signal they need to connect to the back end server every second or two depends on which vendor they are using so uh this kind of a connectivity a reliable one you know with supporting seamless roommate it is very very critical to them okay and we can even with wpa2 security we can still support millisecond type of roommate okay the other one is the ems which is the um postal service in china this one because they have this area is smaller it's only two store houses and also is much lower in terms of the ceiling height so eventually they chose our a3ei if you remember this is our mid-range product again the product is meant for outdoor but because it's a build it's a very uh uh you know built with ip67 rating so it's also very good for indoor deployment as well and it's also very popular as well for you know smaller areas like this okay so only six of them can cover like two large store houses okay supporting hundreds of handheld devices as well as an agv and in terms of power plants we do have one a significant deployment in hong kong in an outlying island okay so in this outlying island where the power plant is located so the application is mixed so they also use our super wi-fi solution for uh different purposes for smart metering so for wireless video surveillance and also the general outdoor wi-fi coverage okay so for the but for the video surveillance actually they use a separate network using our a2 uh uh and e3 er for body point bridging okay and for the axis mainly they're using our flagship product ein which is shown here on the lower corner of the picture and for the smart metering because actually the the meters are the old one so what they do is actually they uh they group it together and then to have like a like a converter like a mediator to convert it to wi-fi and then to connect to our super wifi network and regarding mining this is actually the actual open feed mining site deployment this is the one in bolivia uh which is in the southern western bolivia uh in a district area called potosi okay so this is a definite open field mining is this large one and again it is very harsh because as you can imagine for mining area it's full of dust and you know you need to have a very uh you know sturdy equipment to just to staying okay and here they use both 2.4 and also 5 triggers and 10 as well for dual band coverage again they're using our flagship product with the integrated uh smart directional antenna for the best coverage okay and the next one i'm going to show you which is also a mining one but which is also very interesting uh this is the one that we did for itm the largest coal mine operator in indonesia because coal mine usually it occupies a much much larger area okay so what the operator will normally do and they will excavate from one region to another okay so they don't operate at the same time okay so in order to save money the our our our partner actually our si system integrated they come up with a very good idea uh to save money for the customer okay so you can see as you can see they put everything on a toll card okay so on the top of it this is our a ein the super wi-fi base station they also comes with you know a solar panel and also with battery and even with a camera there so everything all in one all contained on on this toe card okay so once they have finished with one zone or one area all they need to do they just need to tow this one to another zone and off you go you have full connectivity for immediate operation uh with connectivity and even for the cctv link as well so this is a very very good idea and the customer loves it very much and as you can see you know uh for 1.5 kilometer range in this kind of uh open area with no interference that definitely is no problem for us okay and by the way no one else can achieve that fall okay and you may ask about what about underground mining okay like this one this is actually the underground mine in mexico okay this mine is called sabinas mining and this one as well as i remember this one is quite a it's not the largest one but definitely is not the small one okay it consists of i think at least i think maybe around 15 layers okay because usually for underground mine it's not just one layer i mean one uh one one layer okay they are talk about multiple layers this one as i said it's not a small one so it is uh i think around 15 layers if i remember correctly okay so you can see all these tunnels are not that big okay and also they are not straight okay and they our our customer actually they deploy our a3 ei our mid-range product okay because this one is uh you know the ceiling is definitely not high it's only about maybe five meter at most okay so you don't need our you don't need to use our flagship product so they use our mid-range product okay uh again with the integrated directional antenna okay for the battery rf control um all you know they installed 50 units of a3 er okay and actually our partners is working with a company called lasik laser is the [Music] they have their own iot solution called the la iot together with his smartphone platform the smartphone platform is more like a digital virtualization platform so it actually transfers i mean that is the iot uh solution which gathers a lot of information from under the mine for example like oxygen level co level whatever whatever okay the airflow whatever and the smart flow is the platform which uh virtualize everything presents all this data on the large screen in the operator room okay so so in the operating room you know that they can have a you know real-time data matrix you know to see what's going on down there in the uh mining in the mine down in the tunnels as well okay and on top of it in this particular mine they also implement make use of our super wi-fi solution in order to have a location service as well because uh definitely they this one they need to send down a lot of workers every day you know go down to the mine to work and before they go down each worker each mine worker will be assigned a helmet i would say a smart helmet with a wi-fi connectivity okay so when those uh workers they go down to the mines actually they will start to work and then of course you know those wi-fi that just decline on the helmet they will connect to each one of these a3 ei down the tunnel okay so on the screen it will show you know how many uh association uh with each ap because hiv because when we install we know exactly this one for example ap1 is in the tunnel one this ap2 is internal to whatever okay so on the screen then you will see exac ly how how many uh minor my workers are located in each gallery okay so as you know mining is definitely a it's not this from time to time you also hear some accidents okay so it's not uh completely safe even though they have a lot of safety measures already in place but still accidents happen okay and when this happened and at least you know exactly how many miners are trapped in which area so when the rescuer team comes you will you can inform them you know how many you know workers they should be looking for okay so this is a very very interesting application and again this is a oil and gas application this is this one is in malaysia actually and this is actually as a refinery and storage area as you can see um our actually they use our a8 product so with our a radio uh actually you can't see here because it's housed inside this explosive proof enclosure okay as discussed earlier you know antennas which are passive components is okay to put outside okay so you in this kind of a hazardous uh application you have to use the our model with external antenna so this is why they chose aa for the blanket coverage uh together with the four external antennas uh this is the one i talked about you know this is a typical if you wanna only light coverage you can put the four antennas one in each direction and you will have the only light coverage for blanket coverage here also they also try to cover the vlcc uh this is the the the the crew carrier okay so they use our a2 with a directional antenna uh to cover the whole area you know the the cruise as well and port is the next uh section about the application so we have different types of deployment scenarios this one is what i call the tripod earlier okay this is actually the rail point so you can see this is a railway road okay con you know you know traveling with those containers so in each of these adapters uh more like a storage area like a hub and they will store the containers again in any of these containers you know yacht or container port you can imagine because containers are made of metal okay and some and also it the number of this kind of stacking it varies from day to day okay um depends on how you rank good days or bad days because sometimes uh the containers you know when they are not busy you will not stack them up okay but when they are really really busy you can see stacks of at least like four or even five stacks of containers so we do from time to time see that uh here it is a little bit uh it's okay because it's not that dense okay but in the real uh another example about the seaport the container port uh they you know the alleys in between those stacks are very narrow okay and from you know uh sometimes you know you may get the signals but when they get busy they stack up containers then you know the the workers will not be able to get signal the connectivity so which is very very bad for them okay this is why they have to choose outside supervisor solution the only one who can solve their problem okay in this tripod same here uh usually you put our dislike a8 radio okay you put again in the tower okay typically it's a light tower which is the tallest point okay and then you can cover the whole you know container yard and claim here this is just another in another country which is china in this case um usually in each of this tripod they have a small building so this is actually the highest one we can find so this is where i would put them and here usually the the building is either at one end or the other so that's why you can just use a directional antenna one uh in order to cover the whole storage area okay and there's another type of port which is carport one is actually the in east coast of usa in georgia brunswick well anyway georgia is probably one of the uh one of the states at this field about this u.s presidential select election these days but anyway it's none of our business but this is a deployment there in brunswick where this is a port uh a lot of these european cars are imported here okay so they also use a very large vessels so each one can carry around 6000 cars at one time so once they landed so all these cars have to be uh stored or parked in the large open area um before they finish the processing of the paperwork for customs duties etc so after testing a few solutions eventually they chose l-type because they are the only one who can solve the problem because they don't have many locations to put equipment so this is a kind of tower they can try to put them okay you can't just put in the middle you know if you are using a standard ap you you need to install many and they don't have this kind of size for installing and container pro this is exactly the scenario where uh for example um you know we headquartered from in hong kong and hong kong used to be the busiest container part in the world today we are still uh in the top 10 obviously the the top five is all in china nowadays the china mainland uh in this container post as you can see uh i also explained earlier containers are made of metal which is killing rf signals on top of it in container ports there are a lot of cranes or gantries this is what they call gantries some of them are fixed gantry this is a s2 sts you know sea to shore gantries they are fixed they also some of them are movable those are the either rubber tired or rail mount gantries they are moving around all the times okay and also the containers they may be stacking they may not be stacking depends on the you know the busy hours or busy days of the month so it makes the network planning very very difficult okay and on top of it in this kind of a continuous uh port okay there are not many places you can mount equipment the only area you can among the equipment is this light port okay this light pole okay this is a very tall pole the usual tower actually you can call usually typically around 20 to 30 meter high okay and our equipment is built for that so our equipment can be stored up at this 20 meter high without any problem believe me if you want to install the standard wi-fi ap up here probably you won't get a good signal at the bottom of the pole typically they would like to use our a8 with external connected external antennas here and you here in the lower picture you will see why because here the four antennas are not pointing different directions okay they are pointing in a part into a particular direction where they want the signals covered okay they may be pointing to those alleys between those container stacks and you can see each one of this antenna you can adjust the downfield angle to suit your need if you want to cover more on the front then okay you don't need down to angle but if you want to cover the near end then you put the maximum dunking so you can adjust it individually okay which is very desirable in this kind of application which gives you the flexibility and continuing on the container port this is a new application because nowadays people talk about automation all the times the industrial 4.0 is coming so also for container ports they are also talking about automation as well uh this is i would say uh um inevitable um if you understand more about the operation there you will know why okay for example in this kind of a countries uh those are meant uh and these people they are usually uh operate in in shift okay so each shift may last about six to eight hours or even longer depends on the countries and literally you know these operators when they climb up to the cabin little company on top of these countries or the cranes actually they stay there for the whole shift of uh you know eight hours or so okay meaning you work there you get there you drink that or you there okay with there's a quiet helmet okay i would say um so that's why it's very easy to imagine that they would love to go for automation so automation what automation means it's instead of sending people up in this campaign uh it's you know compact area and also you know in uh those kind of uh like in africa middle east area just imagine that you are working there in the daylight this is not comfortable at all i can tell you that so um in terms of automation what they do is actually the operators will be sitting in the like you and i now sitting in a very nice comfortable chair air conditioned room okay you can also enjoy a cup of coffee um and then operate those cranes along the container yards okay of course with the help of high-definition video cameras fitting back the the video signals okay so in front of you in front of those operators you will have some some screens so we can see exactly where you're moving to just like when you operate drones okay so each crank or each country typically comes with about four cameras okay and uh here we work with uh an ecosystem partners okay they provide this uh waveguide uh with the leaky signals so and then our ap is here okay instead of fitting to the antennas we fit into the this waveguide okay uh the gantries actually is uh on the right hand side which is just slightly out of the picture uh the gantry if this is a rubber tired gantry so it can run from one block to another okay and the here on the right hand corner uh bottom corner this is actually the like a extended arm which once it it parked into this block they will need to park here in order to obtain power okay and also they have another cpu on installed in this gantry in order to get signal from this waveguide okay the waveguide the reason for using waveguide here is actually try to minimize uh the difference of models because in this container there are some other wi-fi networks operating and of course you know we ideally we we can shut them out up and down but if you cannot then this is another way try to focus on the rate to control the radiation in order to minimize the interference from the atoms okay so this is all for today um and here you will see some information about our uh contacts in on social media uh facebook link in and do um you know follow our social media you can also join our forum as well which is highlighted at the bottom of this slide here um so now this is uh the end of this one hour session and now we open for questions if you have any of them i can see some you

Frequently asked questions

Learn everything you need to know to use airSlate SignNow eSignatures like a pro.

How do you make a document that has an electronic signature?

How do you make this information that was not in a digital format a computer-readable document for the user? " "So the question is not only how can you get to an individual from an individual, but how can you get to an individual with a group of individuals. How do you get from one location and say let's go to this location and say let's go to that location. How do you get from, you know, some of the more traditional forms of information that you are used to seeing in a document or other forms. The ability to do that in a digital medium has been a huge challenge. I think we've done it, but there's some work that we have to do on the security side of that. And of course, there's the question of how do you protect it from being read by people that you're not intending to be able to actually read it? " When asked to describe what he means by a "user-centric" approach to security, Bensley responds that "you're still in a situation where you are still talking about a lot of the security that is done by individuals, but we've done a very good job of making it a user-centric process.
