there's so many great things about lewis's speaking style when it's his authentic energy or the way that he speaks to crowds of thousands of people but if i had to put my finger on one quality that separates him from most people in the circuit it's this humility he is so humble when he talks about his accomplishments and just uh just we're on the same page here he has multiple new york times best sellers he has millions of dollars in his bank account he has a top 100 podcast he's interviewed celebrities across the world literally everyone from kobe bryant to matthew mcconaughey he's he's done the whole circuit yet whenever he talks about his life whether it's in a speech or an interview he has a lot of humility he talks about it in such a powerful way that makes you go wow if lewis can go from a kid in columbus ohio to achieving all of this why can't i the biggest lesson i want to share with you from lewis's journey is this even as you accumulate success in your life you have a moral responsibility to speak to the person you once were and that bears repeating it is your duty to speak to the person you once were if you have a six-pack and you're a health coach you can't just go into a workshop and say i'm the best i'm perfect i have a six-pack no you have to talk about your struggles and where you started in the same way i stunk at public speaking most of my life and i still do in many ways i just think i could teach it a bit now if you're more vulnerable about your journey and you're humble as you get more and more accomplishments not only will people gravitate towards you and respect you they'll become raving fans in the same way i'm a raving fan of lewis's number two vulnerability and transparency is the key to the heart i think what's interesting about lewis is he's a bit too open sometimes in one speech i i saw him give in person he was talking about the teeth that he had a surgery on a couple of years ago and how he waited a decade before pulling out his wisdom teeth no just sitting there like uh okay but what i appreciate about louis is every time you ask him a question whether he's in an interview or he's giving a speech he always tries his best to put as much details as possible even if he probably shouldn't be sharing some of those details and the reason why i think that's so important and for you to do more of is because the more detail somebody gives the more you trust their information and that's why i've been listening to this podcast for five six years now that's why i've invested a lot of money to go to as his in-person event which i highly recommend by the way and the reason is because i trust the guy even if i don't know him because of how vulnerable and open he is about his information he literally hides nothing you from the audience's point of view you go wow i really trust this guy i really understand his information he might make mistakes along the way and i want to gravitate towards him but if you do the opposite and you think you're perfect all the time just because you're wearing a suit and you're in a suit shop well it won't work for you right you'll go wow well this guy i can't relate to he's not somebody that i that i can see myself having dinner with or having a casual conversation with that's the key you want to bring more of that vulnerability and transparency in what you do because if you keep the conversation surface level you'll get a surface level audience but if you go deeper if you're more honest if you're more open those are the people you'll attract to your brand in the same way lewis has attracted an incredible group of people to his events and what he does and finally number three public speaking has a lot more to do with the experience rather than just the presentation lewis is one of the few speakers on the planet who hosts an annual event in his case that's called summit of greatness where thousands of people from across the world fly out to his hometown in columbus ohio to meet like-minded people and to hear incredible speaker but what's fascinating is the show that he puts on it's not just him speaking it's the sounds it's the screaming it's the ambiance the atmosphere that he creates at this event from the dance party at the end to the sound tracks that play in between each speaker that makes you go wow i really feel like i'm in paradise i know that sounds bizarre but it's the way and how thoughtful he is about the experience of the presentation not just what he says out of his mouth that makes it so exceptional and makes him and his bread equally exceptional that's what i want you to start thinking about as well how can you take your ideas and distribute them in a way where people go wow this is an incredible experience is it a youtube channel is it a book is it a blog start to think about that and you're the psychology of the people you're speaking to to see how you can wow them how can you create seven star experiences for them not five stars because everyone gets five stars but seven stars if i said the exact same information but on a blog it wouldn't come out as well but if i put a nice suit on and i look a little crazy and i talk about public speaking you're gonna say wow this guy's weird but he's all so different maybe i should check this out it'll mean something to a small group of people and if you start having dinners with those people to the people you seek to serve the most you'll find insights to deliver a seven star experience for them too greatness is the result of those who persevere believe
