Holly speaks at gmail.com happy to communicate with you you also can see the other things that I offer at my website wwlp.com today I'm going to talk about what I've done for my clients and what I do in my business so I'm available for many different types of speaking engagements I've done as few as three people I've done as many as 1,200 people I do a lot of keynote speeches a lot of them are motivational in nature I do individual seminars often my seminars and my trainings are customized for client need I'm able to do training courses which include course workbooks that I've developed my self-evaluation form certificates I do breakout sessions a lot of conferences and events there are many different professional associations in the southeast part of the US that use me for breakout sessions I also do facilitations I have actually worked to help companies merge companies divide departments merge I do a lot of consulting with my clients and then I do various workshops as well so I'm kind of a one-stop shop so why do people choose me why do people choose dr. Holly speaks well first of all I'm known for my ability to take really complex topics and make them very easy to understand one of the biggest topics that I do technology wise is Microsoft Excel I've done it since it was released to the public I do it at every level every version but the fun thing about me doing Excel is that my very first college degree was in technology it was I was a computer programmer and I remember how difficult it was for me to grasp some of the concepts so I'm able to take Excel topics and concepts and break them down very easily so that even a layperson can understand I'm also known for being able to bring tips and tricks into all of my classes and you know that adults love that whenever you can save them time I also have a sense of humor and I'm not afraid to use it you're looking at two images here of speaking engagements that I've done the one in the Superman cave was a seminar that I did for the North Carolina Department of Revenue and the state auditor and it was thrown in there team-building sessions and they were taking a look that day at being superheroes themselves so they was some of them were dressed up and I dressed up too I thought why not the topic that I covered that day was emotional intelligence which lent itself really well to the whole superhero idea in the lower right hand corner I also facilitate a weekly get-together for people who are in transition people who are either on or underemployed and you're looking at how I dressed up this past year at Halloween I dressed up as a kitty cat because I thought it would be very non-controversial and I actually was facilitating the session that day for about 30 people I'm able to speak on a broad spectrum of topics each at the expert level people ask me what my area of expertise is in as far as teaching and training and speaking and I've been doing this for so long that I have many areas of expertise in fact just it's just a personal conviction I won't get up in front of somebody unless I am at the expert level so whenever I bring something to an audience it's at the expert level and it's meant to be inclusive it's meant to be interactive and it's meant to be a fun way to learn a lot of people call this edutainment I tend to appeal to a wide array of individuals and I can tell you up front I've trained everybody from line workers to c-suite individuals and everybody in between I have done training speaking consulting in every possible industry I think there's one out there that I haven't touched in some way so I have a real diverse background those those different ideas and and different and engagements that I've been able to be involved in I've really been a gift to me because they make me a better teacher I get to hear about what people are going through in the workplace and what they're encountering with their industry or in their organization and I get to try to help them figure out ways that they can navigate that so I think it's made me a stronger individual and it's given me the ability to appeal to many different types of audiences so the one thing I can say about myself is that I am absolutely very low maintenance I show up when I'm supposed to I speak in an unforgettable way I leave a really great impression I do all of the paperwork all the follow-up work in a timely fashion all of my claims I have never had a one-off client I've never had somebody use me just once everybody always Matt asks me back and bites me back even if it's years later because they've so enjoyed working with me I've worked with a lot of different organizations you can see a sampling of the people every single organization on this page is somebody that I've worked with there are more than these but these are the ones I've done the most work for and the ones that are the most recognizable by the way if you're considering using dr. Holly I will be happy to give you references from some of these organizations and you can talk to them about how they've enjoyed using me for speaking and/or training opportunities so here are some of my topic areas I mentioned three topic areas to give you a little bit more of an idea about my topic areas the first area that I talk about and do a lot of work in is leadership I have two things mentioned here successful leadership leading a team to the organizational maze which talks about really just winning strategies that effective leaders use and how they can make sure that their team and they end up on the winning side of the organization I also have another topic up here successfully managing a remote staff I talked about that from the leadership perspective you know even ten years ago telecommuters were considered a four-letter word people didn't trust that individuals would work from home properly and we now know resources research has shown us that telecommuters can be even more effective and even more productive when they are the right people in that position so we talked a lot about ways to make sure that you have the right person in the right position that you have the right leader to make sure that those telecommuters don't feel cut out that they feel included and then we talked about different environmental factors as well another topic area that I cover is professional development I have a bazillion topics in this area one of the most popular ones recently has been the multi-generational workforce where I talked about the five different generations that are in the workforce today everybody's talking about this one right now I know of a lot of competition in this area but my talk is different I've had many people compliment me on it because they talk about it more from the workplace perspective and less from the just general perspective so I talked about how you communicate with each of the generations what kind of management style works best with the different generations those types of things and then another one put yourself on the map how do we noticed at work I talked about the ten characteristics that employers always look for in prospective employees or in people they're going to promote and I hope people learn how to hone those within themselves and then the last topic area that I cover which makes me a little bit different and then other speakers and trainers is technology and I do it very well because again that was how I got started in business and industry so my two biggest topics right now our Excel tips and tricks I have even very incredibly seasoned excel veterans come to my tips and tricks class and just be blown away by the stuff they didn't know was in the package it's just Excel is so inclusive it's hard to know everything that's in there and I have a fun time showing people cool things that can help them work a lot smarter rather than harder I also do a lot of work with Microsoft Project or with a lot of project managers showing them how to take their project plans and make Microsoft Project the perfect lead Learning and reporting tool that can help them with all of the projects that they have going on in the organization I've had a lot of people recommend me over the years if you want to see immediate recommendations just go to my LinkedIn page I've got over 30 dr. Hollier Sellinger LinkedIn I've also earned five college degrees that helps with the fact that I'm so well-rounded and can speak on so many topics so the first college degree that I had was in computer science I am a techno geek I love technology and I especially I'm good suited well suited in the areas of software so all of the Microsoft products anything regarding the internet netiquette cybersecurity all of those areas I'm very strong in my second degree was in liberal arts and I did on a purpose so I'd have a nice general platform my third one is in Business Administration with a human resource minor that's where I picked up on all of my leadership topics on my professional topics when I was going through school I wasn't speaking on them but I was learning them incredibly well and that became the foundation for the topics that I would later develop and speak on the last two degrees are somewhat related I have a degree in adult education I also have a degree a PhD in adult workforce and continuing professional education we could shorten the last one slang wise to say corporate training my dissertation was very definitely in the field of corporate training I'll mention that in just a moment but all of these together given me an unbelievably well-rounded well versed platform that allow me to speak to a lot of different people on a lot of different topics and still everybody walks away with exactly what they need to know this is another recommendation from a client the North Carolina Association of CPAs has been a customer of my customer of mine for over 15 years I've done tons of their events their conferences there are symposiums I've done webinar videos for them you know you name it I've done it for them this has been a repeat customer and a huge customer I love these people about Hastings mentioned the fact that they've actually given me three awards I've done such great work for them and that you know this is just a lot ongoing long relationship that we're gonna continue to share I love what they do for their members and they love what I do for their members I've also led five corporate training centers in the middle of my illustrious career so I've listed them all here what that did is that taught me and I guess maybe that's what helps me be this really low mate that's person I know what I had to to do to get speakers to come in and do classes for me and it was very challenging it's it's hard to get adults heard it in the right direction so I know now what I need to do and I make sure I do it before anybody even asks another client that I've had a long-term relationship with is Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina they're a huge huge entity here in North Carolina and I've done all different types of training I've done soft skills training for them I've done leadership training and I've done a whole lot of Technology training as well in fact recently I've been asked to help them roll out a program to Train all of their business analysts on using Excel for data analytics and that has been all kinds of fun I'm still have we've rolled out the first two offerings to different cohorts have gone through it's been great and now we're getting ready to forge ahead and basically customize it and standardize it for the rest of the organization I also love volunteering a lot of compute community involvement I still constantly network and I give back to the community any chance I get so you'll notice that been on many different boards of directors I'm a member of different you know organizations been a steering committee member and all of this again has just helped me become a more well-rounded person and has allowed me to collect examples that I use in every single seminar it's fun watching people because they always give me great examples to use when I'm trying to train other adults so I mentioned this a little bit earlier in fact in just in this last year I earned my PhD from NC State and corporate training my dissertation was entitled corporate trainers get groupies and of course you can see the much longer moniker that came after that but I basically looked at I was interested because I was running the corporate training division at NC State and I was interested in finding out what made some of my corporate trainers so amazing every time I went sent them out and others had such a hard time even if they were brilliant and so my dissertation I basically interviewed 55 people and I got them to complete a little survey that showed me that there are basically six sets of expectations that adults come to training classes with and if you can find or speaking engagements with if you can find a corporate trainer or corporate speaker that can keep all six of those groups happy you've got a winning combination so it gave me the ability to communicate to other corporate training managers like myself exactly what they needed to look for when they were hiring it allows people like myself who are also corporate trainers to know what types of things they can hone or polish in themselves it was it was great fun it taught me a whole lot so I am now known as dr. Holly I never intended to set out to be called dr. Holly but everybody enjoys doing that a lot of people started out teasing me that way now it seems like every time I walk into a networking event it's hey dr. Holly so I become that person and that's why I chose the moniker dr.
