Computerized Medical Equipment Management Systems (CMEMS) will be our topic. This topic will be separated into three parts. The first part will have a general introduction about computerized medical equipment management systems. Then, we will talk about the commercial computerized medical equipment management systems available. Then, we will have a tech spot about "the ingress protection for medical devices and it's important when we are talking about the disinfection methods for the medical devices". The second part will be a practical example about computerized medical equipment management system. This example will be about HEMS which is developed by the EQ2, and it will be the topic for the second part. Also, in the second part, I will talk about the planning for the acquisition of computerized medical equipment management system, and its implementation. And finally, we will talk about the future of computerized medical equipment management system, and its relation to the big data and artificial intelligence (AI) analysis. And, I have a proposal concerning this. So, as we said that, the topic of this will be about computerized medical equipment management system. So, it's related to the management part, and not only dedicated for the maintenance because we have a computerized medical equipment maintenance system, which will be only dedicated for the maintenance phase, and not covering the whole part "management". So, the topic will be for the computerized medical equipment management system. Also, in the future, I expect we will have a computerized medical equipment system for the planning part and the management part. This is an example of a commercial medical equipment maintenance management. It's called the InnoMaint. Now, we'll start with a an introduction about computerized medical equipment management systems. To manage thousand of medical devices and systems in hospitals, a computer database customized for medical equipment management is needed. For example, in the case of University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMC)or most medical centers. In case of the University of Vermont Medical Center, which has nearly around 20,000 medical devices in their medical equipment inventory. Which (UVMC) is also existed at three different campuses with many satellite locations. So, in such environment, a computerized medical equipment management system will be needed in order to manage this great number of medical devices in the medical inventory. So, all devices, classified as medical equipment requiring management, must have documentation for activities related to these devices. Such activities will include deployment and installation of these devices, acceptance testing for new devices, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance with parts and labor expenditures, recalls and finally other events needed to be documented such as incident investigations, and other activities and events. Such system is called a computerized medical equipment management system. AIMS is a famous computerized medical equipment management system, which was developed by Phoenix Data Systems, and is currently acquired by the ECRI Institute. So, what is the purpose for the computerized medical equipment management system? The purpose is more than the documentation for regulatory, standards or legal purposes. The goals of such system are to proactively manage medical equipment to reduce failures, downtime, support costs, use errors, and also to improve patient care quality and safety as well as utilization. The features for such system. The data input into the system must be easily input, standardized, and accurate, in order to avoid what is known as "Garbage In Garbage Out". So, the computerized medical equipment system should have or should be able firstly to collect data about the medical devices, and then analyze and present the information in a variety of formats: for example web based, PDF, native database, such as SQL format, printed reports exported to spreadsheets such as Excel. Also, output through other means: for example text, phone and pager means for emergent situations. So, this is a model for a garbage in garbage out. In case that the entered data is not accurate, and standardized. This data also should be entered into a system, which is well designed. Then, this will lead to unusable data that generated by such system. So, we should have a data entry, which is accurate and standardized. As well as, the computerized the medical equipment system should have certain features in order to have a useful information generated as reports. Now, we'll talk about the commercial computerized medical equipment management systems. We have three types of such commercially available systems. We have the offline system, online system and the systems, which have both capability of being online and offline simultaneously. So, what the offline means? Offline is where the computerized medical equipment management system software is installed in a hardware, which is existed physically in healthcare facilities, such as a hospital or a medical center. Such Hardware will include the server or servers, network infrastructure, and so on. As for the online system, the software is accessed online through users' accounts similar to any online account (emails, Facebook, LinkedIn and so on). The only handle hardware needed to have access to such systems are PC computers (desktop or laptops), PDAs, smartphones tablets, and so on. So, as we can see in this slide, here are some of the hardware, which is needed for the online access of such online systems: the PDA, the computers, which can be either a laptop or desktop, also tablets, and smartphones. The use of smart phones for a real-time access for the computerized medical equipment management system is important especially in the case when we have a medical center with different locations or different campuses, such as the case of the University of Vermont Medical Center. Also, we need a barcode label printer as a hardware. Here are some examples for commercially available computerized medical equipment management systems available in u.s. and worldwide. The first one will be the AIMS, which is developed by Phoenix Data Systems, and is acquired currently by the ECRI Institute. We have the HEMS, which will be the topic of the second part, and is developed by EQ2. We have the TMS, which is developed by Four Rivers Software. We have the TMA, which is developed by TMA Systems. And finally, we have the Mainspring Health. Now, we will move to Tech Spot of this lecture, which will be about "the ingress protection for medical devices, and it's important to select the appropriate method for the disinfection of this medical device". This is currently very important due to the spread of the coronavirus worldwide, and the need to disinfect the medical wards receiving patients with coronavirus or any other site. As we can see, the first method for disinfection is the spraying of disinfectant into the surfaces. We can see a hygienist, who is spraying the disinfectant into such environment to kill the viruses and germs. As we can see here, there are many hygienists, who are using the spray method for the disinfection. Such method will be dangerous in the case of medical devices, which have lower IP number or code (ingress protection number). And, we will talk later what this IP number (code) means, if this device has a low IP number. Medical devices are sensitive electronic devices, which have electronic boards. With such electronic boards are made of electronic components. Some of these electronic components generate heat, and need thermal management to remove this heat for the proper working of this electronic components and boards. This will be challenging for the disinfection method. In case we have medical devices, which need to get rid of a lot of heat generated by these devices. As we said, the first method is the spraying of this disinfectant. And, this will be very dangerous. For example if we consider this laptop, which has fan and electronic boards. In the case of spraying the disinfectant, this will enter into the electronic boards of this laptop into the hard disc and the motherboard, and will lead to the failure of this laptop, or even complete damage. So, in this case, the better method is to spray the disinfectant into a cloth, and disinfecting the surface of this laptop with this cloth similarly in the case of the medical devices. In case they have a high thermal or high energy generated by the electronic components of these medical devices, it's better to avoid the direct spraying of this disinfectant, or else a failure or a complete damage of this device will happen. Another method to disinfect the surfaces or medical devices in a hospital, is the use of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. We can see here a robot, which is UVD robot developed by Blue Ocean Robotics. Which (UVD) is used to disinfect the medical devices and different areas and surfaces and in hospital. Now, we'll watch a short video about this. By the way, this robot is autonomous, which has self-driving capability, and has a lot of safety features. Now, we'll watch this video. So, as we said this is an autonomous robot. So, as we can see it's a self-control. So, what is an IP address, IP rate or code? IP is an acronym for ingress protection. As we can see, it will be made up of two numbers and two letters. We have what we call IP rating guide. So, what is I P rating? Each IP rating has two numbers and two letters. The two numbers both of them will give information about the protection level. A higher numbers means a greater protection against solids and liquids. The first number will be from (0 to 6), which refers to the level of protection against solid objects and moving parts, such as dust, debris, and other solid matter. The second number will be from (0 to 8) references the level of liquid and moisture protection. Recently, the second number, which will be the protection against liquid, will become from (0 to 9). So, the IP codes range from IP00 into IP68, or recently IP69. This is according to the IEC 60259 standard, which is the International Electrotechnical Commission standard for the ingress protection. Also, another important point when we are talking about the disinfection of the medical devices about the vapor, spray or aerosol. So, we are talking about the second number. So, having a higher second number, this means the higher the protection in the case of of disinfection using aerosol or vapor. So, as we said the IP number or code is made up of two numbers and two letters. Video Voice "I'm Connor with GME supply. And in this video, we're gonna explain IP codes or as it's also known the ingress protection rating system. the ingress protection system is a classification system that the degrees of protection an electrical enclosure has against solid objects and liquids. Essentially when you hear the term waterproofing or water resistance, the IP rating will be the actual value to which the device is protected. As an example, we're going to look at the new NXP 500 digital two-way radio from Kenwood. It boasts an IP55, IP56 and IP67 protection rating. IP ratings are given to a wide variety of everyday electronics like the cell phone in your pocket, flashlights, power tools, and obviously two-way radios. They're also extremely important when it comes to electrical instruments that may be used in high voltage situations. In fact, there are typically standards that electrical instruments must meet to be used for certain types of work. However, as we're talking about Kenwood radios simply put the higher the IP value, the tougher the radio. So, what do each of those numbers mean? Well, the first digit rates the amount of protection from solids from larger objects, like fingers and tools, all the way down to microscopic dust. This number is going to tell you what kind of solids could potentially enter the enclosure. The first digit is rated on a scale of (0 to 6). Zero meaning no protection from any solid object. And, 6 meaning complete protection from the smallest solids like dust. The second digit defines an electrical instruments resistance to liquids. This value is rated on a scale of (0 to 8). Once again, zero means no protection from liquids entering the enclosure. And, eight means the enclosure has total protection from liquids. For both digits, the values between defined various tests and procedures done to evaluate the protection level. One criticism of the ingress protection rating is that a device could potentially pass a high level of testing, but that doesn't always mean it will pass a lower level due to differences in testing procedures. So, let's jump back to the NXP 500 radio that we mentioned earlier, and break down what those IP values are. To begin with, it's IP67, which is about as much protection as you can get. This means it's completely sealed off from dust and can withstand total immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This radio also meets IP55 and IP56 ratings, which differ from IP67 by using high and low pressure water jets to test its protection. So, when comparing devices make sure you look for multiple levels of rating to know you're totally protected like the NXP 500. Now that you understand the IP code for electronic enclosures, you understand that the NXP 500 is a seriously tough radio." So, this is a general video about the ingress protection. Now, we can see the ingress protection rating guide. As we said, the recent scale for the second digit becomes from (0 up to 9). So, the scale for the solid will be from (0 to 6), and it will be the scale for protection against solid. The second number, which will be the protection against liquid, will be a scale from (0 till 9). As we can see here, automated external defibrillators (AED), commercial ones. We have different IP rating for each manufacturer and each model. Now, we will watch a brief video, which shows the testing of a medical device. This medical device will be "Medical Clinical Assistant". We will have the testing against or a test what we call a "Water Splash Test" for the testing of the IP ingress protection "IPx4", which will be useful and desired in deciding the disinfection method. So, we are testing the second number. So, in this video, we'll see how the testing for the ingress protection will be done for such devices. (Video Sound) "What you are about to see is a water splash test. The product being tested is the Advantech MICA 101 "Medical Clinical Assistant". The splash test equipment fulfills International Electrotechnical Commission IEC 60259 requirements. In this test, the MICA 101 is turned on before the test begins. The water jets shoot toward the center from a 180 degrees semicircle with a mean flow rate per jet of 0.07 liters per minute. The semicircle oscillates through nearly 360 degrees, 180 degrees on either side of vertical subjecting the MICA 101 to water spray from every side. After 10 minutes of water assault, the MICA 101 is still running like a champ. The MICA 101 passes IEC 60259 edition 2.1 2001 - zero - item IPx4. Well exceeding the requirements of most normal clinical environments. Advantech MICA 101, the medical clinical assistant. So, as we can see, this device "the Medical Clinical Assistant" has been testing the according to the IEC, the International Electrotechnical Commission, 60259 IPx4, which is the protection in the case of environment, where there is a possibility of entering of liquids into the device. As a summary, we should try to avoid or guide the staff, who are disinfecting medical devices and surfaces, and especially the medical devices in a hospital or a medical center, to avoid a direct spraying of the aerosol or the disinfectant into a medical device in order to avoid a possible failure or damaged for the device due to the failure of the electronic components and electronic boards of these medical devices. And, finally it's also important to consider the second number in the IP code, when you are determining where this device will be used, in what environment. For example, if it will be used in environment, where there is regularly disinfection of the medical devices, such as the operating rooms or in a department receiving a patient with infectious diseases, such as coronavirus. Finally, thank you.

Frequently asked questions

Learn everything you need to know to use airSlate SignNow eSignatures like a pro.

How do you make a document that has an electronic signature?

How do you make this information that was not in a digital format a computer-readable document for the user? " "So the question is not only how can you get to an individual from an individual, but how can you get to an individual with a group of individuals. How do you get from one location and say let's go to this location and say let's go to that location. How do you get from, you know, some of the more traditional forms of information that you are used to seeing in a document or other forms. The ability to do that in a digital medium has been a huge challenge. I think we've done it, but there's some work that we have to do on the security side of that. And of course, there's the question of how do you protect it from being read by people that you're not intending to be able to actually read it? " When asked to describe what he means by a "user-centric" approach to security, Bensley responds that "you're still in a situation where you are still talking about a lot of the security that is done by individuals, but we've done a very good job of making it a user-centric process. You're not going to be able to create a document or something on your own that you can give to an individual. You can't just open and copy over and then give it to somebody else. You still have to do the work of the document being created in the first place and the work of the document being delivered in a secure manner."

How do you sign a document that you receive e-mail?

I signed a document on my computer that I received email on. How do you verify my signature? Do you accept cash? How about credit/debit cards? What is the maximum amount that you accept? No, we aren't a place where you can simply pay with the internet. Our site is more like eBay and PayPal where you have to have a verified email address before you can pay. Once you have a verified account, we will be able to process payments for you. I received a card at the store, where can I use it? At our store we only accept credit cards. However, you can use our online card processing service to pay over the phone through any credit card reader or mobile device. How will my account be credited or debited for a transaction? We process credit and debit card transactions all day every day. When you have a card, we will be able to process transactions on your behalf. When will I be notified of payment and how long will it take to receive it? We are not always able to notify you immediately when payments and debits get credited to your account. We will be able to notify you in a week or less. We are also not able to tell you when your card will be charged. Please note, we cannot process online orders at this time. I am unable to log-in or get online support, how can I get in touch with you?

How to do a reusable electronic signature?

If you are using an old printer that doesn't have the option to print a digital signature, or a scanner that only allows you to print the first two numbers, you may have to use an Arduino or Raspberry Pi to create the signature from scratch. Here's how: 1. Install Arduino If I was to write this tutorial, I would've written it from scratch. The Arduino IDE is free and open source. It can be downloaded from the Arduino website and the download page has instructions on how to install it. Arduino is a wonderful tool for creating electronic circuits, as well as making electronic circuits out of electronic parts. The Arduino website has a section in the software downloads that has the Arduino IDE installed for free (although you can pay to get a pro version of the IDE which has more features). Download the Arduino IDE, follow the instructions on the page, download the latest Arduino software package (.zip) and unzip it. 2. Install the USB Drivers If you are using an older version of Windows, it may not have the USB drivers needed for the Arduino IDE. Download the USB drivers for your version of Windows and install them as necessary. 3. Download the Arduino software package from the Arduino website The Arduino software package is a zip file which has the .zip file inside of it. Unzip that zip file and copy the contents of this archive to any location on your computer. 4. Create a new software project To create a new project, click File – New – Project. You'll be asked to...
