How eligible (or not) is your work experience towards a PMP? If you meet the criteria for a PMP, I would go for that instead or wait. CAPM has minimum hours as well, and I think would be treated similarly to your work experience since it is the lowest-tier PM cert. I also don't know what your Master's is in, but if it's business then I wouldn't bother with the CAPM and wait until you can get the PMP. I have been a PM for a few years now and am eligible for the PMP but am prioritizing other things in the meantime. Personally, I don't find the PMP that valuable, where I worked we had tons of people with PMPs who were terrible PMs, I think unless you feel a huge need to augment your current skillset with a CAPM, it probably will not be as useful, nor will it make up for a lack of actual experience. Since you have so many years of experience, I am curious if that would be more valuable than the cert in your case.
