First and foremost, I apologize that this has occurred. The first step would be to speak with the regular letter carrier on the route. This person is the same person that would be in the best possible position to help. Why do I say that? Simple. Letter carriers are the FIRST person that receives written notification that someone has moved. That's even before the change of address confirmation has been sent. We usually have the COA (Change of Address) notification within 1–2 days.Talk with the carrier and see if the previous resident put a change of address in for an Individual or a Family. IF it was an individual, then it is a bit easier. The letter carrier has a few steps that must be done in conjunction with a supervisor to correct this. IF it was a family change, it may prove more difficult. As for you, I would suggest that all correspondence use your legal name….First Name, Middle Name (if applicable), Last Name and any suffix (if applicable). This will definitely help distinguish two separate individuals.I would advise to allow anywhere between 3–10 business days after speaking with the regular letter carrier before speaking with the local supervisor (at your assigned post office). This will allow time for the letter carrier and supervisor to address this with the appropriate personnel. If you have not had any success, by all means, go to the station manager. If no success there, the local postmaster (if the station manager and the postmaster are not the same). From there, if you still have not had success, you may wish to consult with your congressional aide or your congressman directly.This is something that we do not take lightly. I genuinely hope this helps you bring this matter to a resolution.

About 4 years ago, I took a part time cashier position at the local Dollar Tree. I work full time but wanted some extra income and made this very clear in the interview process because the store manager seemed perplexed by my over-qualifications. I have spent the majority of my career in customer service with a few years of retail management, too, but I wasn't looking for a career change, just a temporary income boost close to home.I asked for 2-3 short shifts per week, explaining that I worked 9-5 Monday through Friday. I said I could do 1 or 2 weeknights and alternating Saturdays and Sundays. Instead I was scheduled for 7 hour shifts for every Saturday and Sunday and no weeknights . Ok, I could deal with working 7 days a week straight, if that was all, just to make a little extra money for a short time. But that wasn't all…I quickly learned that Dollar Tree employees are paid minimum wage and treated like dirt. I would be scheduled with only 1 other employee at a time, who was either the store manager or assistant manager that I would only see for 5 minutes at the beginning of my shift. I would be checked in, given the till drawer with only $20 in change in it, then directed to an understocked register and given a list of tasks to accomplish, usually including a pallet or 2 of stock. The manager would vanish, only to make brief reappearances when summoned and berate me for summoning her.I'm no stranger to retail— I knew i wouldn’t be idly sitting behind the register. But working at the dollar store was awful. And the clientele was a motley crew too. Every shift, I was left to deal with an overflowing line of cranky customers, helium balloon orders, unruly children, angry seniors, and demands for personal shopping assistance all alone.It was a never-ending madhouse (& a shoplifter’s dream). Customers would yell out in line about waiting, asking why arent there any other registers open. These same people would then pay with slowly counted out change, or checks that required 2 forms of ID, or declined credit cards (always MY fault), or demand I wrap their glasses and dishes in newspaper and cardboard like it was fine porcelain. If two people paid with a 20 dollar bill within the first 10 minutes of my shift, I was cleaned out of change (you wouldn't believe how many people whip out a 20 or a 50 for a $2 sale).We had resident crazies like the old man who called us all damn Yankees and waxed poetic in the aisles about how he missed living in Savannah, and the Diet Pepsi man (2 bottles every day, exact change, must get bag & receipt); regulars who came in just to use the bathroom; people who never made it to the bathroom but shopped anyway; weekly shopping trips from the nearby group home; local business owners haggling over bulk items they bought there just to mark up at their own stores; angry parents buying last minute school project supplies; people in formal wear buying cards on their way to an event; cheapskates trying to get refunds because the $1 toy made in China broke after 15 minutes; little kids crying as they learn for the first time about sales tax when that toy costs $1.07 …There was nothing more i could do than try to move everyone along as fast as humanly possible. I was filling up helium balloons with one hand, scanning items with the other, running from aisle to register to ballon center and back to the register. Meanwhile, the manager would be off in an aisle stocking shelves or hiding in the storage room or chain smoking out in the parking lot. If anyone asked her for help, she'd send them up to the register for me to deal with.When I would page my manager for help if I had a line to the door or a 50 dollar bill or I ran out of change, she would take her time coming through multiple pages, then alternately tell me I should have called her sooner or not at all. And with every appearance, I would be reprimanded in front of the customers for not stocking enough product, double bagging canned items and running out of bags, accepting too many 20s, paging her too often /not enough, not kicking the shoplifting teenagers out, not walking someone over to the toilet paper display, not knowing if we sold out of a product (because i never knew what we had since I couldn't leave the register), you name it… I would come home feeling like I had run a marathon.Memorial Day weekend, I went in for my regular hectic Saturday shift, and saw the upcoming schedule taking away my entire holiday weekend and the next 2 weekends, again. I grabbed a sharpie and wrote a note on my task checklist asking to be removed from the schedule permanently. Next to each task, I wrote stuff like, “nope” and “are you crazy?” or “you do it, i dont have time.” At the end of my shift, I turned that in with my receipts and left. I didn't show up the following day and never called to make sure anyone read it.

I'll answer my own question...I discovered that USPS will actually forward most mail abroad for a limited period of time.  This was difficult to discover as the USPS online form for address change doesn't allow writing in a international address, nor does the physical PS Form 3575 they offer as part of a moving packet.  However I did find the following @ http://faq.usps.com/eCustomer/iq..."How do I file a Change of Address for an International address?If you are moving to an International address outside of the United States, you will need to fill out the same Change of Address (COA) form (PS Form 3575) that is filed for a domestic move at your local Post Office™. If you forget to submit a COA prior to moving to an International address, you can write a letter to your old Post Office in the United States and the Post Office now serving your new international address explaining the situation. Provide direction on how and where you need mail forwarded. The letter should also include as many details asked on the PS Form 3575 (Change of Address Form) as possible."After stopping by the local post office, I was given PS Form 3575 and told to write in the international address - ignoring the fact the fields assumed a US address.I was about to sign up for service from shipito.com, but after many searches I noticed both customer complaints on a number of sites and a "F" rating from the LA BBB.  http://www.la.bbb.org/business-r...For me, if a company doesn't care enough about it's BBB rating to respond and engage with unhappy customers - I don't have much trust they'll provide good customer service otherwise.  As a result, I skipped using shipito for mail forwarding.I've heard of other mail forwarding services like Earth Class Mail, but have yet to try them out... Back in 1991, before Ancestry dot com was a thing, I got interested in genealogy… my family’s, in particular. So, I set out on a mission to find out all I could, and put together a family tree. Less than two years after the World Wide Web was created (aka: WWW). So, I wasn’t really on the internet yet. I had to do it old skool; although I did use a computer to draw the actual “tree”, as there were no genealogical tree templates that I knew of, yet. I sent out a form letter to every single person I knew, who was even remotely related to me. I even had to take a quick crash course in Russian Cyrillic, so that I could communicate with my relatives behind the Iron Curtain (which was half of them, in various countries). The curtain fell the following year, which made communication much easier, but at the time, I wasn’t even sure if any of my correspondence would get there and back. Amazingly, it all did. I sent out these form letters with pre-drawn, empty “trees”, for everyone to fill out. I also included a self-addressed stamped envelope, to make things as easy as possible for everyone.By the autumn of that year, I had received nearly all my templates back, all filled out as best as everyone could manage. Then began the task of making sense out of all of them, and compiling them into one massive tree. I ended up with nearly 600 people to list. For every person, I listed 6 bits of information: Name, place & year of birth, place & year of death, and their occupation. It took me about 6 months, but by Christmas, I had a surprisingly full family tree. I printed these all out on 17″ x 24″ sheets of parchment, rolled them up into scrolls, and handed them out to everybody as Christmas gifts. It was a big hit, as no one had ever seen the big picture yet. This is my Pociask Family Tree:This was in 1991, so I suggested everyone add to their branches by hand, as the years go by. By now, there are probably another 100 or more kids and grand-kids born. But that’s me, in the lower-right corner, above the block of text. I drew a chain of heavy links around the whole thing to signify that we were all linked together.The furthest back I got for my lineage was 1796, in Prussia. My great-great-great grandfather, with the last name of Busz, was born there. This part of Prussia had previously been part of the Polish Kingdom, and afterwards, once again became part of Poland after WWII. They eventually moved to the Kingdom of Bohemia, which became Czechoslovakia. My four grandparent's lineages basically hailed from 4 places: Prussia/Bohemia, Ukraine, and two from southern Poland, in the mountains. So… I am pretty much Prussian/Bohemian/Ukrainian/Polish. The late 1700’s was as far as I could get back for my family. My daughter, on the other hand, through her mom, I could trace back through Stephen Austin, one of the founders of Texas, and then all the way back to Mary Queen of Scots.As far as my family… they were refugees after WWII. They lost everything there, and both my father, and my mother came to America as Displaced Persons, although they came separately. My father alone, and my mother with her parents and 9 siblings. This is my grandfather’s “Reiseausweis” or Travel ID Card for the voyage from post-WWII Germany, to NYC in September of 1952:And here is the ship they came over on, the USS A.W. Greely, that was named after a US General, Polar explorer, and Medal of Honor winner:This ship was in service from 1944, all the way to 1986. It had a pretty good run, and was an important ship, as it brought my family to America! They all came here under the sponsorship of a farmer near Buffalo, NY who would house and feed them in return for a couple years of what was basically indentured servitude on his farm, picking lettuce, strawberries and all of that kind of stuff that many migrant workers from Mexico and Central America do today.So… how far back do I have to go in my family tree before I get to someone whose first language was not English?Well… that would be me!I didn’t really learn English until I went to kindergarten in Buffalo, NY. We were a bi-lingual family. Actually, tri-lingual, unbeknownst to me. You see, my grandmother only spoke Czech, while everyone else spoke Polish. Somehow, I spoke in Czech to my grandmother and Polish to everyone else, without even knowing it! Yeah, I didn’t realize that until I was in my teens. That was kind of a weird revelation.So… yeah, there’s that.

Fiancee and I moved into our townhouse a year ago. Became great friends with many of the neighbors. weekend get togethers, drinks at the gazebo after work etc. I became president of the HOA . My fiancee did some contracting work for our closest “friend”, across the street. It all went south from there. They had a disagreement about what work should or should not have been done. He refused to pay $900 of the work he had done. Then he lost his job, got dumped by a girl he was dating and it all got worse.Eventually, he teamed up with 4 other neighbors who disliked my fiancee and they started using the legal system to harass us. They filed FIVE protective orders, 1 disorderly conduct and a violation of the protective order. We had to go to COURT and pay a ton in lawyers fees . Thank goodness all charges were dismissed. Boy, were they mad after that. Then the harassment really began.We’ve had the police called on us for trimming bushes and a tree, because they claimed he was “staring” at them amongst other ridiculous things.The 4 angry little neighbors went door to door through the neighborhood to badmouth my fiancee that he was a “menace to society” and a “criminal” and a “bigot”-none of which is true. They said since I was the president of the HOA I needed to be removed because I brought him into the neighborhood and didn’t do anything about it. Myself and our friend, who was on the board as well, were both recalled and kicked off the board. Three out of the 4 got themselves replaced to the board and now have made it there sad little life work to harass us.We have been recorded wherever we talk, walk or go in the neighborhood. We recently received “cease and desist” letters from the management company because one of them claimed my fiancee was walking across the street and obstructed one of the jerks from driving down the road. Really? How? did he throw himself on the car? no………..They also have ordered us to remove a donated firepit (a silly propane fire feature table you find at any restaurant/hotel/bar) and chairs from a common area that we set up to bring the neighborhood together for social gatherings. The worst part is, the neighbor who started all this, he’s the one who put together the original petition to allow it! Now that he hates us and is on the board, he is demanding it be removed What a hypocrite!Most recently, my finacee was at the mailbox with another neighbor. He knew she has signed the petition to have me removed from the board. He asked her why she would do that. Especially since he had helped her with power washing her deck and some other things around her condo. She said it was the “principal” of it. They talked/disagreed and then my fiancee said “whatever “and “have a good day” and walked away. Her husband comes down to our house thumping his chest and fisting his hands yelling that my fiancee better never “f%&king” talk to his wife without him around ever again. They had words. They then called the merry band of 4 jerks as to what they should do. They were advised by the HOA BOARD to file a protective order and disorderly conduct. They even told them how to fill out the forms and what to do.We get to back to court AGAIN next month. Yes, I know, we are MOVING!

The Tier 4 visa is the student visa, if your studies will last longer than six months. In order to qualify for a student visa, you need to have secured acceptance from a recognized UK university, either for a degree program or a study abroad program. Once you have this, the university should provide you an ID number to submit with your visa application. This may be outdated as it's been four years since I last applied for my Tier 4 visa. You also have to show that you have the funds for your studies, either through a bank statement, a federal or private loan letter or a scholarship letter, or some combination thereof. You also have a set form you have to fill out, and you need to submit your current passport and any old passports. The visa will be issued as a sticker on your current passport. Finally, you need to go to a place near you (the immigration services site will help you find one) to submit biometric data. The hardest part is getting all of the paperwork and moving parts together. But it's generally very straightforward. If you have your funding and the admissions offer, and don't have a criminal record, getting the actual visa is not difficult. I've done it twice.

If a landlord would like to end a lease when its term expires, some states require the landlord to give notice to the tenant even though the lease already specifies the termination date. 60 days is usually a sufficient notice for a tenant to search for a new rental.

On the other hand, per the Met Council, in the absence of a written agreement, a roommate who is not on the lease is considered month-to-month, and you can legally ask them to leave as long as you provide a 30-day notice. ... If they have violated the agreement or there is no written agreement, you can kick them out.

A roommate with no lease has legal rights. ... In some circumstances, you'll be considered a tenant, and the tenancy according to rEval estate laws is month-to-month. You have the same rights enjoyed by the tenant who signed the lease, and if there's a problem, it would have to be resolved according to the laws.

Give your landlord notice immediately. Don't wait until the bills pile up and rent is due before informing your landlord that you can't pay and want to move out. Tell your landlord the truth: if you need to move out because you simply can't afford the lease without a roommate and can't find one, then just say so.

If you rent under a written rental agreement, this will normally be rent and utilities for 30 days from the date the covenant gave written notice (or left without notice), unless a new roommate comes in earlier and covers these costs. ... Will pay for rent and damage no later than a stated date.
