However, the PPD is a non-specific test for TB, as people that are vaccinated with the BCG TB vaccine, people suffering from mononucleosis, or people on steroids will show a positive PPD. Also, the PPD test is vulnerable human error, as the test result is determined by they human eye.With this being said, there are two questions that may arise. Are other tests available that are more accurate and dependable than the PPD? Yes. Are they cheaper than the PPD? Not at the moment. That being said, however, the CDC now suggests that NAAT (nucleic acid amplification tests) be used as a confirmation tests for positive PPD tests, or to those suspected of having TB. I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the  location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team.Before the interviews,  try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team  to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume.You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that  they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. TB Blood Tests. Blood tests to detect TB infection, unlike the ST, are not affected by prior BCG vaccination and are less likely to give a false-positive result.

The TB skin test is performed by injecting a small amount of fluid (called tuberculin) into the skin on the lower part of the arm. A person given the tuberculin skin test must return within 48 to 72 hours to have a trained hEvalth care worker look for a reaction on the arm.

How is the ST Read? The skin test reaction should be read between 48 and 72 hours after administration. A patient who does not return within 72 hours will need to be rescheduled for another skin test. The reaction should be measured in millimeters of the induration (palpable, raised, hardened area or swelling).

If a skin or blood TB test is positive, your doctor may give you a chest X-ray. They will look for abnormal spots on your lungs or any changes caused by TB. You may also take something called a sputum smear test. Your doctor will take a sample of the mucus that comes up when you cough and test it for TB bacteria.

The most commonly used skin test to check for TB is the PPD \u2014 purified protein derivative. If you have a positive PPD, it means you have been exposed to a person who has tuberculosis, and you are now infected with the bacteria (mycobacterium tuberculosis) that causes the disease.
