so we wanted to talk about uh campaign finance pete quist is the research director um for uh at followthemoney.org he's recently focused on the best practices for disclosure of money in state politics before that he spent two years at project votesmart where he tracked the progress of congressional and state legislation summarized key bills in plain language and compiled voting records so i've asked pete to come and give an overview of the resources that they have and not just the you know you know the calculation of how much money is going to politicians or candidates but you know what the connection is between money going in and legislation being proposed so pete is going to give us an overview of the different ways that you can use the data they have and show you how to do it and um and then we will then we will draw it out um so pete welcome and turn it over to you thank you and i'll go ahead and just share my screen here and go through what i'd like to talk about today and so this
