Named in honor of Alexander Rutherford, Alberta's first Premier and Minister of Education, the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship recognizes and rewards exceptional academic achievement in high school and encourages students to pursue post-secondary studies.

You cannot receive more than the $2,500 value of the Louise McKinney Scholarship in the same academic year. Normally, the Awards Office nominates students for the Louise McKinney first and then nominates students for a Jason Lang Scholarship.

The Alexander Rutherford Scholarship has a value of up to $2,500.

The Jason Lang Scholarship is administered within the general policy guidelines of the educational institution's student awards program. At most institutions courses taken at any other post-secondary institution are not considered for purposes of scholarships. Course grades from two institutions are not combined.
