Georgia Tech is a very good school (tier 1) but not super elite. It is a state school. I never applied. Their 25th percentile ACT is 29 and 75th is 33.My son applied. He was not a state resident but they offered him a free education (Room board books, tuition and fees). He is an outlier as a person. He comes off as goofy boy with perfect GPA, Perfect SAT subject test scores, Perfect ACT’s and huge numbers and depth of extra-curricular activities he was accepted everywhere and went to….MIT.So it is difficult, but a slightly larger school than the super elite schools with about 14,xxx undergraduates. 41% are admitted. It is rated as one of the 10 best PUBLIC schools in the US and #36 by US News.If international expect zero aid (it is a public school). If from Georgia it can be a great deal.

Schools give academic scholarships to attract top students who won’t traditionally attend the school. Top schools don’t give academic scholarships because they are already at the top so top students will attend anyway.

You see in the article how it’s justified. The ballots were improperly filled out.Yes, there are a lot of steps and considerations in making sure these absentee ballots are correctly filed. Not only do the votes need to be bubbled correctly, but the envelope must be filled out with correct address and signature and sufficient postage attached (at least 3 forever stamps) to be sure it will be received and accepted. This is all very tedious, time-consuming, and confusing. It is not surprising that 10% of voters screw something up.The voters submitting improperly filed ballots are being notified by mail or email and will still be able to vote.All of that is what the law says is supposed to be done. If other places are not doing it, it is because they are not doing what the law requires.But I suspect other districts are doing exactly the same thing, but are seeing fewer new absentee voters than Gwinnett is. It’s the newest absentee voters that are likely to make a mistake and submit an improper ballot. We’ll have to wait on more complete data to find out what is really going on.

I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the  location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team.Before the interviews,  try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team  to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume.You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that  they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. It takes some time to get ready for the host matching (it's less than the technical interview)  but it's worth it of course.

Personally, I think it is BS.Currently, the law of the land is Roe vs. Wade which means that the US Supreme Court recognized the right to abortion as a fundamental right and regulations on that right had to meet strict scrutiny. At least as until fetal viability.The heartbeat bill cannot stand if the US Supreme Court continues to uphold Roe vs. Wade. So what will happen is that the State of Georgia will spend time and money defending a law in federal court and trying to push it to the US Supreme Court in order to reverse Roe v. Wade.The signing caps weeks of tension and protests at the state Capitol and begins what could be a lengthy and costly legal battle over the law’s constitutionality. But a legal showdown is exactly what supporters want.[1]The thing is I get that people who are anti-choice think that outlawing abortion will be a good thing and will lead to the saving of thousands if not millions of lives. But it won’t. Because reversing Roe v. Wade just means that it will go back to the states and many states do not outlaw abortion. Or it will push people to back-alley abortions. It will also have the effect of discouraging doctors from performing abortions even in cases of rape, incest or medical emergencies. Especially as Georgia leads the US in the highest maternal mortality rate [2]Truth is if anti-abortion people wanted to prevent abortions, they would push for free birth control (of all kinds), they would also push for fact-based sex education in all schools.
