If there is a stream leaving the pond, fish and arthropods can migrate upstream into the pond.Eventually, you may find that muskrats or beavers have discovered your pond, not to mention turtles and snakes. During periods of precipitation when the surrounding lands are wet, you may be surprised to learn that amphibians (mostly frogs and salamanders) also migrate over land for some considerable distance. They will eventually discover your new habitat.But most of the time, unless people stock the pond with different kinds of fish, these vertebrates will be slow to colonize or they may not invade at all. But if they are present, you will likely also see fish predators like birds or even otters, if they are in the area.So enjoy the show. It’s hard not to get fish to breed in a pond because all the natural stimuli are present at one time or another. As others have mentioned temperature is important but I assume you’ve taken that into consideration. The next thing you need to think about is how to maintain the colors of your collection and for that, you are going to have to cull some of your fish. There is no way around this. You will either have to sell some, give them away or euthanize them. This is where feeder fish come from. If you aren’t selective in what you keep and what you discard your collection will soon revert to their natural colors and form. For your situation, you want only the best fish you can produce. You want fish that are without defect and show the qualities you desire. Be ruthless and discard any fish that don’t meet your standards. High-quality fish, even guppies, can fetch big bucks.

I love Saba, when prepared correctly.Skin side down -- always.It takes a little bit of practice.  Splitting it down the middle is the best starting point.  Using two hands (chopsticks), separate it first, length-wise, criss-crossing the chopsticks at this angle.  Then pull outward, keeping the chopsticks against the plate.  I'll admit the chopstick is not designed for cutting, but the fish is soft enough to separate.  It's more like breaking apart, rather than cutting.(excuse the crude rendering, I"m not an artist)You can then use the same technique to break the fish into bite-sized pieces.This is a matter of personal preference whether you want to eat the skin or not.  Personally, I think this is where all the flavor is, particularly when it is grilled.  However, if you prefer not to eat the skin, usually it is prepared to the skin is crispy enough to remove it easily.  Again using two chopsticks (one in each hand), peel away part of the skin so enough of it is exposed for you to place the chopstick on.  Hold the skin down with one chopstick, while using the other chopstick to gently separate the flesh from the skin.Again, this takes time, practice and dedication to get the hang of it.  Persist and your efforts will be rewarded.I'll be the first to admit the method I described is not the fastest way to convert a fish fillet into bite sized pieces.But that is the enjoyment of eating Saba.  You eat it sloooowly, making it last as long as possible.If time is of the essence, however, there is no shame in asking for a knife and fork.
