[Music] basically we're going to talk about resumes today what are they why do you need one so my question for the group is what do you consider a resume what is a resume to you and if you can like i said turn your mic on an answer or if you'll type it in the chat box jimmy can read it basically a resume is a summary of your background skills and qualifications which you then send to the employer for review a resume is going to often be the first document that an employer will look at this is going to be their first impression of you so consider it to be your personal marketing brochure and your goal is to gain the employer's attention basically a typical employer is going to spend less than 30 seconds looking at your resume so you want to make sure that it's factual impressive readable and tailored to the position you are applying for so the goal is to get you an interview so it's not quite a job application it is to get you an interview um you generally will attach or send in a resum
