The city of Norton Shores is unveiling a new face for the community. There's new branding to attract new residents, visitors and investment into the community. 13 on your side, Lakeshore reporter John Mills has more on the city's new motto. It's in our nature. That's the new motto here in the city of Norton Shores and this road project is part of an effort to create a sense of place for residents and visitors to this city. Right now, the entrance to Norton Shores is a little bumpy, but Mayor Gary Kneeland says when completed, this road project will be welcoming and inviting. We did a road diet so we shrunk the road a little bit more green space that way, but we're putting benches in sidewalks in really nice streetlights, Kneeland says. The city continues to grow. It's been growing every year. You know steadily 3-4 or 5% and two years ago, city leaders started pursuing strategies to give the city identity.
