hello I am Scott with the ISA and I wanted to pop on really quickly to answer a question that comes up a lot and it came up in a live event we just had uh which is somebody asking how do I know which film festivals are the right ones or which screenplay competitions are the right ones for me to submit to and uh you know Molly suggested you know just you have to do your due diligence and the response from somebody in the chat understandably was how they all promise the same things and it does seem like that I I oversee the contests that are listed on the ISA page and I wanted to take a moment here to talk about this because I think it's something that we all come across as writers that are looking at film festivals one should I submit to contests at all are they worth it are they scams how do I know which ones are the right ones for my screenplay and unfortunately I'm gonna be vague a little bit and say that we're all going to create our own checklists and have our own different things
