want to thank the legal aid foundation for the great privilege of being here the night and for your conferring on me this access to justice award I have been greatly encouraged and inspired by this setting and by this dinner and I know it's a major fundraising affair for the legal aid for the foundation but you've done a magnificent job in lifting up what this foundation represents for law for equality and justice for multitudes of people who do not have a chance and need support and encouragement and I guess what then I'd like to simply suggest that in this time the profession of law the vocation of law justice is more desperately needed our Constitution says we the people of the United States of America in order to and then I'll skip a few words in order to establish justice judges and some Supreme Court people pretend that the Constitution excludes its preamble excludes those great words more perfect union common welfare liberty justice common defense but I happen to think that the
