my favorite part of the internship program is the first day when everybody comes there together and you've seen everybody on paper but when they're sitting there in the room and you're meeting them for the first time it is so exciting because they're so accomplished i just can't wait to see what they do i've been working on a project studying metastasis and breast cancer the research you can do with stem cells is much broader than just seeing a limb regeneration you can use them to grow organs in a petri dish and test drugs on that or culture cells and study how cells differentiate and progression of disease this has definitely changed my view of my career path and my hope is that students will see or dispel these myths that that science is this linear process and that a career is a linear process if i look in general about our program it's really only dedicated or about two things it's about critical thinking and it's about mentorship they never make me feel that i'm an intern for a s
