Well, in Iowa deer hunting season is open for archers and quickly approaching for shotgun hunters. But if you're able to catch one of those coveted bucks, you're going to have to report something new this year back to the state. Joining us. Talk to us about the slight change for deer hunters this year. Yeah, I'd love to. So, starting this season as you alluded to, there's a new harvest reporting requirement, uh, that we're asking hunters to, uh, report for any antler bucks that are harvested in the state. Uh, now this is gonna be the main beam length of each antler. Uh, I've got a, a skull here to demonstrate the main beam is the part of the antler that starts here, uh, at the pedicle and wraps itself around, uh, to the tip. So it excludes any points.
