[Music] [Applause] [Music] the airborne end ranger training brigade conducts transformational training to create and deliver competent and capable ranger qualified soldiers parachutists jump masters and reconnaissance leaders to enable the us army and the joint force to prevail in low and high intensity warfare the ar-tv hosts four courses the u.s army ranger course basic airborne course jump master course and the reconnaissance and surveillance leadership course the ranger course was conceived during the korean war and was known as the ranger training command on october 10th 1951 the ranger training command was inactivated and became the ranger department a branch of the infantry school at fort benning georgia its purpose is to develop combat skills of military personnel by requiring them to perform effectively as small unit leaders in a realistic tactical environment under mental and physical stress approaching that found in combat emphasis is placed on the development of individual
