in rheumatology because we have a lot of diseases that sort of target different organs one of the things that we like to do is to create a center that will see patients with specific diagnoses because we can bring together all the other experts that need to be involved so our goal in the Arthritis Center is to see any patient who has joint complaints especially joint swelling identify the cause of it very quickly so that they can get on the appropriate treatment because the treatments for one kind of arthritis are not necessarily the same as another kind of arthritis so when I first see a patient who likely has rheumatoid arthritis one of the first things I say to that patient even before we finish the evaluation is if this is really rheumatoid arthritis please don't worry I know you're already worried but please try to understand as strongly as I can say it that that this is treatable it's not going to ruin your life is disabled as you might feel now we can make it better and we can g
