package alternates is a group of bid items that you want to be able to turn on and off as a group the bid item type going from d or to n n for non-additive so you could turn a group off and look at a base bit and maybe then have a group that would be an alternate it's very easy to set up these package alternates first of all i get into my setup bid items i come over to my customize tab and like any other customized tab in heavy bid i just click it one more time to see all of my options right here and what i want to do is activate the package alternate option right here at the top right once i've done that i see my package alternates column and this is just a matter of selecting which ones i can do and i can indicate anything here i can make it a b c or one two three doesn't matter as long as i am consistent i could even spell it out if i want to make it all one alt one alt one and i'll make a few all and i don't have to keep them of course sequential and now i have created those as alt
