[Music] hello my name is jeffrey tetso and i'm one of the attorneys here at the law office of brian fagan today it's my pleasure to talk to you about a subject that is more specific in the areas that we handle it is guardianship and not just any guardianship it's a guardianship of a minor so at the outset when you think about a guardian uh that type of person is not any different in the legal sense than it is how you use that term with with your family a guardian is going to take care of their situation they're going to watch over somebody like they're a very concerned family member or parent so a guardian is kind of stepping into the shoes of a parent to take over the rules and responsibilities that a parent has towards a minor the only thing that they're not responsible for technically is to provide for the financial support of a child only a parent can be ordered to do that now when you look to file a guardianship of a minor you hope to get the agreement of both parents the consent
