[Music] we really were seeking feedback from the instructors from the students and from the math mentors to give us direction and guidance in how to implement this new way of teaching they divided all of the content of the courses into three sets of content and then they had four units of time and so what that allowed us to do then is that if a student flunked a unit and they needed to repeat that that's what we called our tier three intervention and our multi-tiered system of support tier one is the first contact which is the classroom tier two is the math assistance center and um also some of the help that's available online and then tier three is having to repeat the unit again and hopefully be more successful the tier system basically after every three weeks to a month they're given a test and if they are not above the 70 that we require they fall back and see that section over it's pretty close to a one-on-one situation where we can get around to everybody to make sure everybody's
