I conducted some informal research on this very subject and drew the following conclusions: -most people looked at the summary when they opened the profile.if they read the first line of the summary they would read the first 3 paragraphs.they preferred 1st to 3rd person and were turned off by summaries that were overly salesy or about the firm not the person.Based upon this we believe that you should write a Grabber paragraph to get the profile visitors attention then a Pidgeon hole paragraph to explain in a few words what you do, with who amd for what purpose and then finally a Values paragraph to explain what your business beliefs are. I live in Germany. I got an invite to the Quora partner program the day I landed in USA for a business trip. So from what I understand, irrespective of the number of views on your answers, there is some additional eligibility criteria for you to even get an email invite.If you read the terms of service, point 1 states:Eligibility. Among all the answers that have been written so far, a few factors that seem important are missing (I'm comparing to the US, because that's where people that ask this kind of question usually are from).References are out of order because I've attempted to order the points in some kind of semblance of importance, and that's that's not the order in which I wrote them.The primary one has already been mentioned, but is so important that it bears mention again: High workforce participation.  Many "socialist" benefits are targeted towards having as much of the population as possible working, and working as effectively as possible.  This includes things like subsidized childcare (which brings more women into the workforce), subsidized higher education (which makes the workforce more educated), free and enforced training programs for those that are unemployed (unemployment benefits are tied to re-training), and subsidized employment for those that need re-education and new experience to get into a kind of employment where they can function.  The net result is high worker participation, and high value from the workers.Contrary to popular belief, Norway don't spend that much on government.  Last I checked, the government spend in Norway was about one percentage point less than the spend in the US, measured as percentage of GDP.  (The US number was an estimated sum of federal and state spending.)In many ways, Norway has a more aggressively market based economy than the US. Yeah, really.  Norway doesn't have a more "companies can do whatever they want" based economy than the US - but Norway is very aggressive about markets, and regulating so true markets appear.  This means that e.g. telecom is heavily regulated to create a functioning market, regulating away the market failures that plague the US."Socialist medicine" seems to actually be cheaper for the government.  The US is spending ~8.1% of GDP on medicine through federal, state and local governments[1].  Norway is spending ~7.7% of GDP on health through the government[2]. High (effective) minimum wage forces Norwegian businesses to make effective use of employees.  There isn't a minimum wage per se[3], but effectively it is not possible to pay less than $20 (maybe less than $25) per hour.  This means that any employee that generate less value than this will be removed - either by automation, by reorganizing, or by the employer going out of business.  This again means that everybody that works generate more than this amount of value, so we get more value out of each employee than somewhere that can have some cheap employees.  It also means that the relative cost of capital investment is low.Low crime recidivism - ~20%[5] as compared to ~60% in the US.  This is at least partially due to intentional system optimizations.  The penal system - both punishment levels and the way prisons are run - is optimized towards avoiding recidivism.  Getting criminals back to normal life avoids the immense costs of crime; the triple hit of crime damaging the victims more than it benefits the criminal, losing potentially productive citizens to a life of crime, and in the actual cost of keeping the criminals in prison for all the time they are there.  The net result is that Norway as less than 1/10th as many prisoners as the US, measured by population, and extremely low crime rates.Less litigation.  Norway has 1.16 lawyers per 1000 people[6]; that's less than 1/3 of the US average[7] and about 1/2 of the lowest state in the US[7]. I believe this is due to a system that attempts to enforce "Fairness" in dealings both between businesses and from business to consumer, and a number of simple venues for non-binding arbitration.Trust.  There's a very high level of trust in Norwegian society, which makes a lot of things easy.  I have never had to fill out so many forms as when I came to the US (neither living in Norway nor living in Ireland.) Get an introduction to the target company through a referral if possible.  A lot of the companies that retain us even talk explicitly about "no agency referrals" on their website.  There are times that going in through HR or their staffing org can be to your benefit but more often that not it helps to have a referral with a "VP" in their title to get you that introduction.  You might still be a long way from getting a fee agreement signed (retained or contingent) but you'll be a lot close than being one of the hundreds of agency recruiters leaving voicemails for the VP HR or Staffing Manager.

Departments of education and school districts always have to make decisions about what to include in their curriculum.  There are a lot of life skills that people need that aren't taught in school.  The question is should those skills be taught in schools?I teach high school, so I'll talk about that.  The typical high school curriculum is supposed to give students a broad-based education that prepares them to be citizens in a democracy and to be able to think critically.  For a democracy to work, we need educated, discerning citizens with the ability to make good decisions based on evidence and objective thought.  In theory, people who are well informed about history, culture, science, mathematics, etc., and are capable of critical, unbiased thinking, will have the tools to participate in a democracy and make good decisions for themselves and for society at large.  In addition to that, they should be learning how to be learners, how to do effective, basic research, and collaborate with other people.  If that happens, figuring out how to do procedural tasks in real life should not provide much of a challenge.  We can't possibly teach every necessary life skill people need, but we can help students become better at knowing how to acquire the skills they need.  Should we teach them how to change a tire when they can easily consult a book or search the internet to find step by step instructions for that?  Should we teach them how to balance a check book or teach them how to think mathematically and make sense of problems so that the simple task of balancing a check book (which requires simple arithmetic and the ability to enter numbers and words in columns and rows in obvious ways) is easy for them to figure out.  If we teach them to be good at critical thinking and have some problem solving skills they will be able to apply those overarching skills to all sorts of every day tasks that shouldn't be difficult for someone with decent cognitive ability  to figure out.  It's analogous to asking why a culinary school didn't teach its students the steps and ingredients to a specific recipe.  The school taught them about more general food preparation and food science skills so that they can figure out how to make a lot of specific recipes without much trouble.  They're also able to create their own recipes.So, do we want citizens with very specific skill sets that they need to get through day to day life or do we want citizens with critical thinking, problem solving, and other overarching cognitive skills that will allow them to easily acquire ANY simple, procedural skill they may come to need at any point in their lives?
