And what happened with the insurance?So.We start out with a real human problem. We can’t have nice things because, as a species, we suck. Academic departments were hiring people a bit too willy-nilly. And what happens when you aren’t extremely careful about whom you put in front of, and in office hours with, young people who can remind one of the thrills of bygone youth? You can all guess: criminality of different kinds. Actionable offenses, such as sexual harassment. And worse still, you can find out that you’ve hired a seemingly competent and professional person who has a chequered past: a rapist, a pedophile, who knows?
