WBJEE counselling procedure is very much similar to the counselling procedure adopted in JEE MAINS. After obtaining a rank in the exam interested candidates will be required to generate username and password and will have to pay the registration fee. I don’t like my name. Well not as much as my ex-name.My name is Divyansh Mundra (currently). The first name Divyansh was picked up by me when I was about 15 years old and legally changed.Divyansh is not the name by which my family knows me, nor do the people who’ve known me since the time that I was born call me ‘Divyansh’ because Divyansh was not my birth name.My grandfather gave me the coolest of names, and I wish that I could have kept it with me.Sadly, English happened.You’ll know why.When this guy was born, he looked like this-(My mom drew a sketch of me after a few days when I was born. My dad was away and there were no cell phones available then to just click and WhatsApp the pic of your baby)And my grandfather gave me the name दिव्य (Divya), which means divine or angelic or heavenly.It’s quite awesome if you ask me.(Translations have been included in the picture)But there was a catch-दिव्य (Divya) cannot be written in English without meaning something else. दिव्या (Divya) on the other hand can be.दिव्या (pronounced like Divyaaa) and दिव्य (pronounced somewhat like Divyha) are both spelled the same in English as Divya. My surname according to the passport is Madurai Ananthakrishnan. When I first visited the US, I was filling out the form they hand out on the aeroplane before you land. Since there was a fancy inflight video instructing us on how to fill the form, I was taking it very seriously. This is when I realized the boxes in the surname column ran out and I was very worried about it. The forms were not that big a deal, but that's when I seriously wished they had clubbed my middle name (Madurai) with that of the first name like how it is supposed to be. It is extremely difficult when you are trying to resolve an issue over phone. Customer services with westerners get so tired typing it out- Imagine spelling out M for Mother, A for Alpha and so on, especially on an international call.I think it is a big inconvenience in all aspects to elaborate initials and make your name horrendously complicated. A meek M.V Varadharajan could transform into a formidable Manamadurai Venkatasubramanian Varadharajan in the process of expansion. I suppose our naming schema was not meant for western life.It used to be a common practice in Tamil families to name their children after their parents which could run into a recursive loop. For example, my father's name is Ananthakrishnan Srinivasan while his father's name is Srinivasan Ananthakrishnan and so on. I broke the loop by being a girl. Now people have ridiculously complicated names that fuses in all the fashionable names that they like. Add a dab of numerology and you will end up something like "Aaaarya", "Rawi". It is very important to decide what you want to be called as and then put that in your passport. Else, you will have tiring, bloodsucking bureaucratic hassles later, if you need to change your name in your passport or visa as Ramakrishnan Krishnan has mentioned in his answer.That said, there are so many celebrities with Village Name & Father's first name as their surnames. Example: M. S. Subbulakshmi, Vilayanur S. Ramachandran. Why, there is even P. Sundararajan who later came to be known as Sundar Pichai.

I had a high school Shakespeare teacher use the answers I gave in class as wrong answers on multiple choice test questions.This teacher did not like me at all. She was young, new to the school, fresh out of college. She was clearly dumber than about half of the students and I say that today, nearly two decades later... not as an angst-filled teen.It was a Shakespeare class and I loved Shakespeare. I've also always been a fast reader and because I used to read a lot of King James Bible, I had almost no trouble with the language. So, the teacher would give the class two weeks to read each play. I would read each in the first two days. With nothing else to do, I would spend the next 8 classes sleeping in the back of the room. The teacher hated this, called me out for it all the time... even let me oversleep into the next class once, warning everyone else to just let me keep sleeping as a joke.But what else was I supposed to do? There was nothing else for me. She'd yell at me, accuse me of not doing the work, quiz me on the beginning, middle and end of each play in front of everyone and then tell me not to sleep, but to just stare at the wall for the next 7 days of class or read it again.The worst bit, though, was that she asked the class for our interpretations of the work at the end of those two weeks and then tell us that we were wrong, giving us her puerile interpretation as the correct one. She would then use the answers I gave to her questions in class as wrong options on multiple choice test questions.
