Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. It's one of the most poorly designed applications I've ever used, period.The fact is, many EHR vendors are trying to take a workflow that is paper-based and transfer it to the computer without really thinking about how their design integrates with the traditional workflow of a medical office. For example, I might take a full set of vitals on a patient, and I will have the laptop open next to me. Except for the fact that we never measure height and weight, when you take blood pressure, the patient is usually sitting down, and we don't measure O2 sat or respiratory rate here. Even if we did, there really seems to be no rhyme or reason to how the fields are organized and set up in the EMR itself. It hurts my eyes just looking at it.Even after doing it hundreds of times, it still takes me a few seconds to get my bearings and find the right fields to type my values in.And how long would it have taken me to fill out a vitals sheet by hand? About 15 seconds. It's smooth, it's fast, and at a glance I can see exactly what information I need to see.Contrast this with using the application, which takes me ~ 1-2 minutes.
