This is difficult to answer as all children are different. In previous answers, people suggest rewards, identifying learning styles and offering assistance.Now, I'll tell you what works. Let them fail. Let them fail miserably. How do I know this? I have lived this and have tried everything.My son, while a great kid, was a lousy student! I would get calls from teachers once a week starting in middle school. I knew then I was in for trouble. Going to high school, I knew that he needed to shape up or college was off the table. Off he went to to high school. He wanted to play football but the team had grade requirements. He barely met them but he did.Now remember, I tried offering tutors, suggested he ask for help from teachers, threatened and begged. After almost 2 years of that bullshit, I stopped. I never took football out of the equation because I felt the work ethic and commitment it required was important for him. He needed (or maybe I needed for him) to be passionate about something. He needed something to feel good about, especially since his older sister was a straight A student all through high school and received multiple academic awards.I, as a single mom, made sure he knew I was there to support his achievements. I went to every single football game of his and volunteered my time to help support his team. What I didn't do is ask him if he had homework, or tests, or exams. I stopped because he needed to learn to do things without his mom nagging him. When he talked about college, I simply said “You're not going to college Noah”. He would say to me “Wow Mom, way to be supportive”.What I wasn't going to do was waste a 529 fund on a kid that wasn't ready to go away to college. He watched all of his friends go away to school while he lived with me at home. He saw independence, fun, freedom and a different world in his friends pics on social media.I had to sit back and watch my son flush his future away because of laziness. Fast forward a year and a half from graduating high school and he is finally leaving the nest to go away to school. He worked his ass off in junior college, got very good grades and will be attending a very reputable college.Failure works!!!! Pestering, bribing and punishment doesn't. At least not for my kid.

Cleaning a bathroom doesn't have to be gross. If you are neat about using it in the first place and respectful of the area if others are going to share it with you, it shouldn't get too dirty.Wipe things down in 2 minutes daily to keep things neat. Clean the whole bathroom weekly or bi-weekly depending upon how many people use it. Use good quality disinfecting products to clean the bathroom with.Always use gloves. Don't skip this step. If you see the Average marks of each subject (Highlighted in Blue), You’ll get a fair idea that you can should score 80 Marks in Cost, Just 60 Marks in Audit and 70 Marks in rest of the subjects to score a RANK.Getting anything above 62% can ensure you a Rank in the Top 50.Plan in Advance. First pump out the water, Then shovel out and dispose of the debris. And alternately rinse the inside of your pond and pump it out. Pumps can be rented, But if you intend to maintain your Koi pond I suggest you buy a pump. Little Giant makes a good one for a reasonable price. In order to keep from clogging your pump get a 5 gallon bucket and drill a couple hundred 1/4″ holes in it, and wrap your holy bucket with filter or landscape fabric. place your pump in the bucket and the bucket in the pond. Fish pond water makes excellent irrigation water for lawns or gardens.

I am a Chartered Accountant with AIR in both IPCC and CA final.  So I guess I can pretty much answer this question. Let us start with what is the criteria to appear in merit merit list of ICAI (or be a rankholder in simple words). ICAI recognizes meritorious candidates in Intermediate (IPC) and CA Final examination, by ranking them on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by them in both the groups, on an all India basis, subject to his/her having secured a minimum of 55 percent marks, in one sitting without availing of any exemptions. There is no practice of declaring any candidate as having secured a rank beyond 50 in Intermediate (IPC) or CA Final Examination.Source: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India  By above definition you need to fulfill following criteria to get  a rank:Clear both groups at a time; Secure minimum 55% marks; and Get your score among top 50 scores to fulfilling above criteria.   So those of you who are planning to write you exams group by group or targeting    that magical number of 50% are out of the race. Anything discussed below does not apply to you. Now we are left with just one more condition (the toughest one :P).  For this you need to outshine other people who are writing the exam.  To put this in perspective this is a comparative testing (like CAT score).  Being good may or may not work, you have to be better than other people. To be better than others you need to ask one question to yourself over and over again, ie, is this the way any average student will study.  If answer comes yes then you need to prepare better, put more sweat in it and make yourself better than an average student. Mind you! An average student here is one who is giving both groups and targeting a score above 55%. Now how do you beat that 'average student'?? You do not even know who all are appearing for exam and what is their intellect level. Definition of 'average student' changes with every attempt.  I got a rank with 64% in IPCC and many of my juniors didn't got even with 73%. You can never know what will be 'average' in your attempt. Below are few tips that, if followed religiously, can ensure that you meet the third condition irrespective of how intelligent an 'average student' is: Give your best: Make sure that when you are done with the studies you can tell yourself with full confidence that you have given your 100%.  Any 99.99% is not acceptable.  Remember you have to outshine other people and there are no excuses in competition. No selective studies: Do not ditch any topic or any sub topic.  Everything that you leave becomes super important for the exams. Do not be so overwhelmed by consolidation that you loose focus of valuation and accounting standards. Do not be so amazed by standard costing that you leave costing theory (which came for 30 marks in Nov 2012). Plan better: Spend first 30 mins of your study leaves planning the study pattern and allocate time to each subject and each revision taking adequate buffer for any contingencies. With no prior studies and target of three revisions this is what my study plan looked like when I started studies for CA final (123 days available). Keep your health intact: To give 8 grilling exams in a row you need hell lot of stamina and you do not want to fall sick during the exams and waste all your efforts. Dedicate 1 hour everyday to exercise, eat least possible junk, take 7 hours of sleep everyday. These are three thumb rules to keep your health intact while you study. However you can deviate from this during the exams as that's the last  lap of marathon and its OK to fall sick AFTER your IDT exam. No coaching in last 4 months: Make sure you dedicate last 4 months fully to self studies.  Coaching are the biggest time wasters and time is the thing that you will need the most.  On how coaching are time wasters please read my answer on Can I become a CA without coaching? Conceptualize, revise & memorize: Remember... you goal is to get good marks in exams and you need to do what is required for it. Try to CONCEPTUALIZE  everything in your mind.  If you cannot do it in first go then REVISE.  Still not happening.. simply MEMORIZE it.  Please understand that there is a trade off between these three options.  Conceptualization takes maximum time when you do it for the first time  and least when you are approaching you exams, whereas, memorizing takes same time throughout the study plan.  You have to choose carefully while preparing. Study study study: You are pursuing one of the toughest course in the world.  You got to study very hard and keep aside all social obligations for 4 months of study time. Were they asking everyone or at least most of them to fill in background check application at the end of interviews?If yes, then this does not mean that you are getting an offer if background check comes through.Moreover: they cannot run the background check legally unless they intend to make an offer to you otherwise. So even though they have asked you to fill in the application, they will not process it (go ahead with the check) if they are “not going to make an offer if background check is clean”

Use that water in your garden and only use ‘quality’ water for drinking and cooking. We, living in the tropics, have extremely humid weather in the ‘build up’ to the wet season. We often produce 40 to 50 litres a day. It is this keeps our fruit trees alive until the wet season starts.We don’t have mains supplied water if you do most places this is safe. We harvest rainwater and store it for later use.
