Last time I flew in an airline -I won’t name,the flight attendant forgot to get me my meal. By the time the trolley signNowed me, the non-vegetarian meal rack was empty. I was told that they will get me the meal in 5 minutes, I told them even if it’s a vegetarian meal it’s fine. It wasn’t really an issue for me as I don’t like troubling them but they insisted that they have more fish packs and they will get me one.My wait was for half an hour, with them avoiding me,avoiding my call and not even looking at me. They didn’t even get me water. I got pissed. I literally raised my voice the next time with an “Excuse me, are you deaf?” and the flight attendant was like, “yes,mam can I get you something?” and my soft reply was,”YES! Your complaint book and it should not take half an hour, I want it right now.”That led to some prompt working and them apologizing for some 15 times in next 15 minutes, they offered me meals (which I refused) and goodies (I refused them as well) and as I didn’t accept their peace offering or apology, in the end, after our landing the ground staff met me and after another series of apologies they refunded my ticket.It’s not about the food,it’s about their non-caring attitude. I have paid for that seat and that meal with hard earned money. If one form of meal is not there, I understand it’s not their fault but if they refuse to get me any meal then I can get nasty as well.So, asking for the complaint book work wonders, do it the next time they harass you.PS I am not proud of what I did but it was needed.

Trust me, I lived it, you are probably being scammed. I was selected for a summer internship 2016.I tried to be very open while filling the preference form: I choose many products as my favorite products and I said I'm open about the team I want to join.I even was very open in the  location and start date to get host matching interviews (I negotiated the start date in the interview until both me and my host were happy.) You could ask your recruiter to review your form (there are very cool and could help you a lot since they have a bigger experience).Do a search on the potential team.Before the interviews,  try to find smart question that you are going to ask for the potential host (do a search on the team  to find nice and deep questions to impress your host). Prepare well your resume.You are very likely not going to get algorithm/data structure questions like in the first round. It's going to be just some friendly chat if you are lucky. If your potential team is working on something like machine learning, expect that  they are going to ask you questions about machine learning, courses related to machine learning you have and relevant experience (projects, internship). Of course you have to study that before the interview. Take as long time as you need if you feel rusty. It takes some time to get ready for the host matching (it's less than the technical interview)  but it's worth it of course.

How would you open a window in a modern car (electric button operated windows) if you accidentally drove it into a lake and needed to get out and swim to survive?Well, from my personal experience, the windows work for quite some time.On May 22, 2011, (the day of the Joplin Tornado), My truck got washed away crossing a creek in Anderson, Missouri.I was visiting my Dad, in the house I lived my teen years in. To get there, you have two cross a creek twice. Normally the creek bed is dry, and it runs when wet, quite often in the spring. I grew up crossing this creek. The trick is you maintain speed and barrel through. If you stop, you won’t get traction on the loose gravel in running water.So when I left, it was dark. It had been raining for a while. When I had come earlier, there was standing water in the creek, it wasn’t really running. But when I got to the creek, it was up and running. But it was dark, so I couldn’t see how much. As I said though, I grew up with it. And now I had a 4x4 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with 20″ wheels. I was high up.So I barrelled through the first crossing. WOW. That’s a lot of water. But no matter, I made it. Got to the second one. Hmm. That’s A LOT!. You can’t tell how deep, just that it’s spread out quite a bit from the main bed. But I have no choice. I’m on an island, so to speak. There is literally nowhere to go but through the creek one way or the other.So I barrel through. Just past the middle, the truck stalls out. It won’t start. I’ve got my foot on the brake. I let my foot off, the back starts to give way. BRAKE. The front wheels are on hard land.So I assess. Truck won’t start. Water is about a foot below my window, coming at the drivers side. I try to call. No signal. I send a text. It says text could not be sent. I’m on my own. Hmm.Eventually I let the brake go, the water turns the truck, which backs against the barbed wire fence spanning the creek. Water is coming over the front corners of the truck by the headlights, which are lower than the hood.Try another text, telling my wife where I am. Something like “Truck washed away in creek, stuck. Send help.” Says it could not send text.The water is starting to come in by my feet. I can hear the fence popping and stretching against the truck.That’s another problem. If the fence gives way, the creek turns 90 degrees. Will the truck ride through the turn? Will it flip on the turn? If so….Alright, helps not coming, and staying in the truck doesn’t look promising. The back window’s kind of small. Can’t open the doors against the water. Do the windows work. Get the key out of my pocket to turn on the ignition. Yes, at some point I took the keys out, and put them in my pocket. Don’t know why. But yes after probably 10 minutes or more, the windows are still working.So there you are. They’ll probably work for a while.What’s that? You want to know more about my story? Okay.So, no sense going out the driver’s side, back to the “island”. There’s no way I could get across the creek to Dad’s. And through the fields in the dark rain is probably over a mile to help.So the passenger side. Toss my phone to shore. Climb into the opening. Ready… jump as far as I can signNowing out with my right hand for the fence, pulling like hell toward shore. In a flash I’m there. It’s really a blur. But I’m there.So I grab my phone and walk the 1/4 mile dirt road to next house. I’m standing on their porch, explaining what happened, drying with the towel they gave me, when a car pulls off the highway and goes past toward Dad’s. (He’s the only house down there, it ends at his place.) I tell them that looks like my wife or brother. Both drove tan Tahoe’s.So they give me the keys to their Cherokee and I take of after them. I get to the creek (around a bend and down the hill), and jump out. My brother is there, hollering for me at my truck. I run up, tell him I’m out, and just then three trucks pull up, one a fire truck.My text had gone through to my wife after all. But she didn’t know I went to Dad’s. She thought I was at the creek in town by the nursing home, where I had gone to see my Mother earlier. A much bigger creek and a bridge. She called my brother, but he lives near the nursing home, and knew if the bridge was underwater, so would be his house. So he figured where I was, and called the 911 on his way.I assured the volunteer fire department I was okay and no one else was with me. We left the truck to it’s fate. After returning the neighbor’s Cherokee, I went with my brother to his house and to wait for my wife. We live 35 miles away from there.Here are some pictures, taken 2 days later on Tuesday. The truck made the turn, and rode up on a flat rock right after. You can see how high the water got both inside and out.That’s the fence it was backed up against. It actually stretched it so the fence went OVER the truck. There’s dents and scrapes along the back of the cab above the window.BTW, this truck had no dents or scratches before this, had under 70,000 miles and was 1 month from being paid off.This is normally a fairly smooth gravel road between the two creek crossings. Since the family has owned it in 1947 the road between has never been washed out. It washed out a 2nd time in 2017. That happened after I had gone through and been washed away.The road is the strip on the right. The left 3/4 if the picture was grassy field.That’s road below, not creek bed. Well, it was road.It’s a bit hard to tell, but that’s about a 3 foot high pile of gravel built up in the roadway. That’s the ’01 Tahoe, on the dry side.Side note: The Joplin tornado began about one mile northeast of my in-law’s house. They were very fortunate. Many people they know, were not.
