So, when they found out that I’m dating/marrying a white person, they were shocked and we had a bit of a rough patch but we managed to overcome it, and today my parents are very fond of my fiancée, like any other Asian parents, their love to my fiancée can be measured by how much food they are feeding her when we visit them.I was expected to survive on my own. Just like a baby bird being released from the nest for the first time, I was expected to be self reliant, they were not rich, they had to sell lots of things, I was given money for only limited amount of time and I had to support myself for the rest.But these things I’ve mentioned above are trivial, the thing that affected me the most was to see their hard work and support.
