The best thing to do is to ignore all food studies. Marketers use media to create health trends. There's no scientific evidence to support gluten sensitivity or that organic foods are more healthy than conventional foods. In spite of this, people feel compelled to spend a little more to buy gluten free and organic foods. People that believe they feel better because they eat gluten free (barring those with Coeliac) or organic foods are falling prey to good marketing and the placebo effect. It's hard to believe, but there really isn't a lot we understand about nutrition and how it relates to human health. Studying how nutrition affects health is on par with the complexity of studying how a drug affects human health, but there's typically no pot of gold in the form of a blockbuster drug at the end of a nutrition study. Because of this, most nutrition studies aren't thorough enough. If nutrition studies were well designed, there wouldn't be so much conflicting information about what foods are good and bad. Even when money is being dumped into nutrition related studies, it can still be difficult for scientists to sort out what foods are good and what foods are bad. For several decades, medical doctors espoused the dangers of dietary cholesterol and its role in heart disease. Now, we know that dietary cholesterol doesn't play a signNow role in heart disease. The cholesterol example is a good one because so much money was spent on it, and it still took mountains of data to figure out that its role in heart disease wasn't as an important as people originally thought. The studies on cholesterol were probably some of the most thorough, high tech nutrition oriented studies ever done, and it still took decades to establish that it wasn't all that harmful. Taking that into consideration, I think it's fair to say that a single study done on any food can be regarded as meaningless. My recommendation is to eat a large diversity of whole foods. Proper nutrition is the most important thing we can do to stave off disease. The human body is designed to maintain itself. The machinery for fixing malfunctions that lead to cancer and other diseases are built into our cells. That machinery has to be maintained though, which requires good nutrition. Unfortunately, we don't completely understand what good nutrition is. However, if you eat a large variety of whole foods, you have a much better chance of getting all the nutrition you need. It's best to just ignore food trends and stick to a diverse diet of whole foods.

Hey,It really depends on a couple of factors like:What was your strength level before.How well are you going to be training, eating, and resting nowHow well did you rest and eat during this 6-month pause.My advice to you would be — don’t rush it. There will be a drop in your strength levels. It is normal and I know it is discouraging. But for now don’t think too hard about it.Take your time. I've had such pauses myself and usually the first month I consider a warm-up month. It is like reintroducing my body to the gym. So the first month I’m not going after anything too heavy.I’d say that, again, it depends on your previous strength level. But I’d expect anything between 2 to 3 months if you are training, eating and resting regularly. And, out of personal experience, some muscles might need more time to get back to their former strength levels.Don’t rush it — this can easily lead to unexpected injuries.Try using light to moderate weights.Incorporate some light stretching here and there and frequent warm-ups.Stay positive.
