What are the good ways to fill out 1120 form if my business is inactive?
While you might not have been “active” throughout the year, by filing a “no activity” return you may be throwing away potential deductions! Most businesses (even unprofitable ones) will have some form of expenses – think tax prep fees, taxes, filing fees, home office, phone, etc. Don’t miss out on your chance to preserve these valuable deductions. You can carry these forward to more profitable years by using the Net Operating Loss Carry-forward rules. But you must report them to take advantage of this break. If you honestly did not have any expenses or income during the tax year, simply file form 1120 by the due date (no later than 2 and one half months after the close of the business tax year – March 15 for calendar year businesses). Complete sections A-E on the front page of the return and make sure you sign the bottom – that’s it!

How did the American DEA become powerful enough to put even good doctors out of business?
The simple answer is that the DEA does not put good doctors out of business.I say this as a physician who has walked the difficult line between undertreating pain while avoiding excessive prescribing of medication that may end up being sold to others or otherwise abused. The DEA is rightfully concerned about the epidemic of deaths from drug overdoses. A majority of the medication involved in drug overdose deaths are narcotics prescribed by well-meaning physicians. More people die from drug overdoses than from guns or traffic accidents. "According to the latest available data from the Centers for Disease Control, drug overdoses were responsible for 38,329 deaths in 2010, 30,006 of which were unintentional." America, It's Time For An Intervention: Drug Overdoses Are Killing More People Than Cars, GunsAs a practicing physician, I am less concerned about the DEA putting me out of business than I am having my prescription narcotic sold on the street or misused.Your letter gives no details about your physician, or why the DEA put him "out of business", but it likely had something to do with more than a few of his (or her) patients dying from drug overdoses. Here is a story from a few days ago about a doctor's license being suspended because prescriptions in his name (some likely dispensed by physician assistants under his direct supervision) contributed to more than 30 patient deaths over the past 3 years. True, this is an action of the state licensing board rather than the DEA, but all of the agencies involved in our public safety share similar concerns. State licensing board suspends Madison County doctor’s license Drugs have great power to help and to harm. The caring physician tries his/her best to help as many patients as possible without harming even one. Ethical pain management physicians follow strict protocols when they prescribe medication, and demand that their patients sign contracts that spell out in detail the conditions that patients must follow to continue to receive pain medication. It is the goal of pain management physicians to treat pain while not contributing to the rapidly rising deaths from drug abuse and overdose. This is a difficult specialty, and patients are often challenging. However, if a doctor follows the proper protocols for pain management, it is unlikely that the doctor will face sanctions from the DEA or state. As a final note to the "anonymous" posting prior to mine, acetaminophen (Tylenol) is not an NSAID. Furthermore, the "20,000 deaths" annually from NSAIDs is wrong. It's more like 3400. And that lower estimate is a correction from the same researcher who initially gave the erroneously high estimate. NSAID Bleeding Risk: Smoke But No Fire Finally, please give some citation for your claim "many more people die from not having the prescription pain medications they need, than die from the drug abuse the government is trying to prevent." Many people die from narcotic overdoses daily in the US. I am unaware of even one death due to failure to receive a narcotic. Even narcotic addicts can quit "cold turkey"; it's unpleasant, but not life-threatening, unlike an alcoholic who stops drinking abruptly, who can die from delirium tremens.I'll edit the above to include this link to Dr. Sanjay Gupta's essay (and in addition to the comment following which I also authored). I am planning to take up a course on recording arts and live sound from Audio Academy. This is out of pure interest and fascination. Just out of curiosity how good are career prospects for a sound engineer in India?
Thanks for the A2A.I believe that if someone is really interested in the course then he/she should do that definitely but as far as I know about sound engineering its not so developed in India. Not many jobs are there in the market for a sound engineer, as far as career is concerned it is very interesting field to work in but one might have to struggle in the beginning of his/her career to get even employed in India. So what one should do ?If one is genuinely interested in taking this course then it is ok provided if you are willing to work hard to achieve excellence . India is a developing country and things might change gradually with time and situation/employment will certainly improve for all type of fields. If you are taking this course to earn money through it and not much interested in the field then I will not recommend to take this course. You may regret for your decision afterwards.

For a new business, is it a good idea to limit how many shares are out of the founder's control?
One of the greatest lines in movie history was said in the classic, All The President’s Men. The line is, “Follow the money.”The idea was that if you traced the trail of money, you would find out who was behind the Watergate break-in.Well, “Follow the money” also holds true if you are starting a company. Here’s how:Whoever invests in your company, regardless of how much they own of the company, now controls the company.Guy Kawasaki is right. The second you take on outside funding, your investors control your company. Your percentage ownership or whatever crazy voting rights you dream up will not save you from being fired if you do a bad job.Your investors make the rules as long as you need more money. Period. If you don’t believe me, ask Travis Kalanick. Travis had control of Uber. He couldn’t be voted out as CEO.Yet here he is now, the ex-CEO of Uber.Uber needed more money to keep the company growing, but the investors grew tired of Kalanick. It was inevitable that Kalanick would lose this showdown because Uber needed money to keep the company alive. The price of the money was that Kalanick no longer be the CEO of Uber. The only way to stay CEO is to do a great job as CEO.I’m not saying you shouldn’t try and keep as much of the company as you can. I am saying that you should focus on what matters, and what matters is how you and your team execute. If you do a great job, then you’ve got nothing to worry about. Your investors will be thrilled that you are the one company in their portfolio they don’t have to worry about. That’s what you should aim for. Worrying about owning 51% of the company will just get you in trouble. For more, read: What Are The Warning Signs You Have A Bad Investor? - Brett J. Fox

How do I find names of American soldiers on deployment to send care packages to? I have tried through two FB groups with no results. This is something I'd really like to do. They deserve everything good.
For security reasons, you can't.You would need to personally know someone and have them give you their mailing address so you could send things to them. Otherwise, it wouldn't take much for a bad person to get all of the names of key personnel on a FOB and send them dangerous packages.Service Members get a TON of training on Security Practices so they shouldn't be advertising that they're deploying or on a mission. Your best bet is to contact a local Family Readiness Group leader and try to work something out. Odds are, you'll hand over the packages to be mailed and they'll send them to their Soldiers. The other way is to marry a Soldier and mail their platoon stuff all of the time. Thanks for your support!

How is it that America is unable (or unwilling) to design and produce good quality, fine looking, well engineered and manufactured automobiles? Is it a lack of good designers/engineers in American auto industry?
Well that’s a very subjective opinion isn’t it? I happen to think my 2004 SVT Cobra Mustang, 2005 Mustang GT, and 2015 Camaro SS are quite fine looking to my eye and well engineered and manufactured automobiles. You know why that is?Because the exterior aesthetics of the vehicles design appeals to me. I crashed my Mustang GT four times, one of which included being t-boned by a semi truck and guess what? No injuries other than a bruise on my thumb. The suspension was sketchy on that particular car, but they weren’t know for handling well back then.I sold my 2013 BMW M3 Competition package for my now 2015 Camaro SS 1LE with Recaro seats and unlike my M3, my back doesn’t hurt after driving it for over an hour and I have better acceleration and handling than I did with the M3. All in a car that cost half as much as the M3!If you’re basing your opinion on American cars based on the American auto industries cheapest offerings, I’d like to remind you that the European auto industry isn’t too far off with aesthetically unappealing dime a dozen hatchbacks and engineering so shoddy that an entire company (Volkswagen) had to resort to cheating emissions tests in order to pass them.Japanese cars have become so incredibly unappealing aesthetically in recent memory, that I went from being a two time Nisan 350z owner (2006 350z AT, 2008 Nismo 350z MT) and owner of an 07 Civic SI sedan, to only liking the Nissan GTR and Lexus LC now days and those cars are around 100,000$. It’s sad quite frankly, because things used to be the other way around. Even the quaintest Japanese sedans were aesthetically pleasing and looked well built 10 to 15 years ago. Now they not only look bad aesthetically, but they look like they are made with cheap material on the inside and outside to me.

How do I tell my friend that the age of 47 is not the best time to start programming? My good friend left out of business. Now, he's "crazy" and wants to start learning Java/C#. Is it better to go for UI/UX design or maybe Oracle PL/SQL databases?
You seem to be making some unfounded assumptions.I’m 68 years old and I can outcode plenty of C# developers that are more than 40 years younger. I know there are plenty of younger developers who can outcode me.I’ve taken it upon myself to continue to learn Python and to start fresh with another language named Julia.Am I making a mistake? You tell me.Sounds like you’re suffering a bit from a malady called “ageism”, you should get yourself checked out!
