My impression is that it’s more economically diverse as well, since over 50% of the student body receives financial aid. Anyone who is admitted who needs aid, gets it. When I was there, I rubbed elbows with students on full scholarship and students from the very wealthy upper class— I don’t recall it making a fig of difference to anyone, and there were no cliques based on economics. Or, for that matter, on race or ethnicity.
