I was there in the ‘60s; John Manzo was there in the ‘80s; I have friends whose son attends there now, and I just did a “Career Shadow” with a current sophomore. Reed was not very diverse in the ‘60s, but there were many Asian-American students, a handful of Blacks. It’s much more ethnically diverse now. My impression is that it’s more economically diverse as well, since over 50% of the student body receives financial aid. Anyone who is admitted who needs aid, gets it. When I was there, I rubbed elbows with students on full scholarship and students from the very wealthy upper class— I don’t recall it making a fig of difference to anyone, and there were no cliques based on economics. Or, for that matter, on race or ethnicity. They go, as I did, to experience a community of really smart people; a place where, for once, you won’t feel weird for being as smart as you really are.As for challenges, your biggest challenge will be to energize your highest intellectual rigor and creativity and step up your academic game. Your professors will bring it out in you, train you to be a superb scholar, ignite your natural curiosity and passion and encourage your best self, encourage you to learn and grow. Your ability to research and debate, your critical thinking, and/or your creativity will earn you admiration with your peers. But if intellectual stimulation and rigor and diversity of thought is what you crave, Reed will deliver.

i like to use a blade to do minelike the blade off a pencil sharpenerthen i go with the grain (from thick end to tip) with the blade edge facing the back end at about 45 degreesit takes a lil practice to get it right so i would recommend using an old reed or one you don't care about breaking.the key is to be patient, subtle and even across the reed…. it is easy to take a chunk out of your reed if you rush ithold up against a light and you'll notice a darker triangle inside of the tip, i use that to guide me and try to get it as symmetrical as possible with the outside lighter sections of the tip.ps wet yo reed first, i find it easier that way

It's as simple as filling any school admission form but you need to be quite careful while filling for courses ,don't mind you are from which stream in class 12 choose all the courses you feel like choosing,there is no limitations in choosing course and yes you must fill all the courses related to your stream ,additionally there is no choice for filling of college names in the application form .
