I believe your question is mis-worded.  I believe, (and by the answers posted, so do other responders) you are asking about the trauma of abandonment and neglect as a child. However, as worded, your question asks if adoption could lead to wanted to be liked. Adoption of a child is a positive to the child's sense of self and improves value. That, of course, provided the adoptive home is a positive on, not a repeat of the birth home. Nonetheless, adoption should provide the abandoned/abused child a vehicle and means to address the need for attention/being liked. Provided the adoptive family is appropriately nurturing and provides appropriate structure and boundaries, the child will have a greater chance of normalizing the need for attention and reduce the likelihood of substance abuse.The child who has been victimized needs to be provided normalcy with appropriate love and affection to enable that child to recognize what appropriate parent-child relations are. This should be augmented by therapy to further enable the child to process the damage done.Abandonment and abuse do, indeed, increase the likelihood that maladaptive and self-destructive behaviors will arise in adulthood. These behaviors can be reduced through the provision of a loving adoptive home environment. Thanks for asking.

Maybe if it is a pup training can be more effective.Food and Exercise: They are poor eaters but the appetite can improve over a period of time. These dogs need a lot of exercise, including mild running, long walks even a couple of times a day as they are usually very active dogs.My Personal Experience: In the last five months, a stray dog (Shaggy, as all our neighbours call him) adopted my family  as it's preferred humans. It all just started with me returning with a few butter biscuits from a late evening walk. He was afraid the first time, then as the treats got bigger, the tail started wagging more. Now, he demands food at a regular hour. He is extremely overjoyed on hearing my motorcycle, runs mad along with my car at whatever hour I return home. My family tells me that  when I am out of town travelling he searches for me in the house. He knows what areas of the house if off limits. I have seen him roll with the children of our neighbourhood when they are at their games in the evenings and on holidays. He is very protective when strangers come and touch the gate and displays his intelligence in a subtle manner.  I am not sure if any relationship can ever give so much unconditional love...

Hi,I wasn't adopted but my father was blocked from seeing me. I had serious health problems and needed to know a bit more about my family history. I knew that my father had passed some time before. So, there was nothing for me to find out from him personally - but the living family members. I was in for a big surprise - 5 younger siblings, tons of dirty laundry and fun legal stuff incl. custody battles and suicides. I am telling you this as a friendly caveat, I understand you want to know your birth parents, just be prepared that it may not be all that romantic.Now, I only had my father's name as per birth certificate - so, I googled - 30 pages out of I have no idea how many....but I emailed every single entry for the first 30 pages. The only information I had was his name and that he was dead. So, obviously, I had to go for the family name, which, thankfully, isn't quite the standard name but isn't that rare either. Emails did come back one by one - but not as many as I had emailed out...2 weeks in, I received an email from MY BROTHER - of whom I knew nothing. Weirdness aside - google may help you in your quest - and public information may be easier to acquire than making the court do anything for you. Also, google is for free....the work is just a bit more tedious.
