How common is it for a landlord to just put a for rent sign out front and not put any property listing information online?
If the property is on a well-traveled street, extremely popular neighborhood, or just a very desirable building, the sign alone will bring in the best leads as these are people who travel this area. The property manager/landlord could be someone who simply is not tech-savvy. It may come as a surprise, but there are those who still don’t use computers. A lot of older folks own a lot of property. Finally, just because you did not see a listing online, does not mean it was not on other sites you did not look into.

How do you find information on the cost of land? Specifically, what it costs to just rent them or utilize the space, as opposed to buying the property and the land?
It costs whatever the owner will charge to rent it to you. You can find the value of the land and sales prices in at the Register of Deeds, they may also have a record of the home address or other contact info of the owner on file and available to the public.

How do you feel about landlords that require you to fill out an app prior to seeing the rental property? My daughter is a CO, has a perfect rental history, and a very high credit score. We ran into this while she looks for a rental.
“How do you feel about landlords that require you to fill out an app prior to seeing the rental property? My daughter is a CO, has a perfect rental history, and a very high credit score. We ran into this while she looks for a rental.”I have a certain sympathy for landlords. It isn’t an easy way to make a living. You have huge capital tied up in immobile investments. One destructive tenant can wipe out the profits from 20 good ones.If you want a landlord who will show the property without asking questions until and unless you show an interest, you can probably find that. We had that when we rented our first apartment after retiring and selling our house (Liberty Lake Apts in Boise ID - great place BTW, we recommend them). The nice office lady showed us around the complex, and let us inside an empty unit just like the one we eventually rented. (That empty unit was already promised to someone else; the one we eventually rented was still occupied). Then we went back to the office and filled out applications. But anyways, it all comes down to supply and demand in a free market. If you want a landlord who asks no questions, you can find one. Probably a “slumlord” who doesn’t maintain the property and has lots of anti-social, destructive tenants who would make dangerous neighbors. If there is a glut of housing in your market, you can find landlords who bend over backwards to court you. If there is a housing shortage, you have to play by the landlords’ rules.

A web page I need to fill out states (in their privacy policy) they will track the site I came from and go to afterwards, as well as my location, browser and OS identity, and much more information. How can I safely fill it out but block all this?
There’s a few separate things here:OS and browser: they already have this as soon as you open the form. All web servers get this to ensure they can provide a page you can load. You can send a fake one using something like the Google headers editor for Chrome, but it’s fairly pointless - you are just one of millions running near identical hardware. It’s mostly useful for their site tester to check it works on the common platforms,Location: They will get a rough location from your IP address. You could use a VPN - they will still get a location, but it will not be very accurate. Locations from IP are often not very useful - often they are only accurate to the country level. The site might ask your browser for accurate location information - just click on ‘no’.Source site: Just open the URL manually in a new tab. Then there is no source site information to pass.Forwarded to site: They can only see this if it’s by clicking a link on the page. don’t click the links.Other sites you may have visited. Normally done with a cross-site advertising tracking cookie. Open the site in a Private / Incognito / Porn mode session to block them all. Close it as soon as you have finished. To be honest, they will get far, far more information from the form you complete than anything else.

What all things do we need to check for while buying land property in West Bengal? I have checked the plot number online [ http://banglarbhumi.gov.in/ ], and got the information regarding its owner and area, what else should I look for?
You got details of the owner thats good. For more details you can visit Tehsildar office with the property documents to recheck. Weather its freehold or not the person dealing with you is an actual owner or he/she has a POA for the particular property. You should check the license of that land weather it is commercial or residential. You should also check if any mortgage going on that property etc. Most of the details you will get from tehsil of that area. If the land size of the land is in some acers you should visit Town Planing office.

Looking to buy a tract of land in Texas. The Texas RR commission shows a gas line on the property, the survey does not, not an emergency and don't own the land, so how do we find out whether there is actually a pipeline on the property?
Pull title on the land. Somewhere along the line you should find a pipeline easement. Usually the holder of that easement will be who you would contact. It is a bit of a puzzler that the surveyor did not show this on his survey. This is a bit imprecise and you still may need to do other investigation such as looking at adjoining properties or as someone suggested a satellite image (Brilliant idea by the way!)

In Microsoft Excel 2010, how do I filter information from two date columns? I need to be able to use the “buy date” and “sold date” columns to filter out who owned each property during a given date.
I think I see the problem, here. The filters are probably not acting together to return the items you are looking for. Thus the range of dates returned by one filter may leave out some of the dates you want from the next filter you apply.Arghhhhh. Makes me talk like a pirate. But here is a possible fix:Insert another column with a COUNTIFS formula. The criteria arguments refer to the buy date and sold date columns. Where both criteria are TRUE, then a count is returned by the formula. It doesn’t matter what the count actually is; all that matters is that the formula evaluates to some number. You could dress this up by wrapping the COUNTIFS with an IF and ISNUMBER formula which returns an “x” or some other marker where a match is found, and a blank otherwise. THEN use the filter for that column to show only the rows which produce a numeric result. To enhance this, you might want to use the header cell to enter the dates you want to find, separated perhaps by a - (dash) or maybe just a space. If so, then the criteria arguments will need to refer to the header cell, and use SEARCH with LEFT and MID to grab the strings that will be returned to COUNTIFS. Tedious, but when you finally noodle it out, you won’t need to directly alter the formula itself, and then copy it to all the other cells.Gotcha’s: The interpretation of the values in the date cells may be affected by the way the date is actually stored. If AS a date, then it will be a number. But if as text only the results may be most peculiar. Be aware of this and adjust accordingly.Hope that helps.
