hello everyone my name is carol chen and along with other members of the lacpa president's advisory committee on women in the legal profession subcommittee on gender bias and civility including indira cameron banks i am proud and excited to be bringing to you our 2021 recorded oral history series the purpose of the oral history series is to share the stories of women attorneys who have experienced or witnessed gender bias and instances of incivility who have successfully addressed or navigated around such issues in their own lives in addition to discussing their own paths they will offer their insights on what progress if any they think the profession has made and what further steps the legal field should take to combat gender inequity and ensure equal opportunities and the full participation of women we believe that all of these stories will be informative and inspirational which is why we want to maximize accessibility to them by recording them and enabling different generations of p
